As Marcus left the airport gate, he saw Ethan's car parked at the curb. The person holding the phone had gotten out of the vehicle. The phone in his pants pocket vibrated momentarily and then quickly stopped. Ethan came over with a big stride and smiled, "I was just calling you, and you came out."
Marcus nodded and asked, "Don't you have to work?"
Ethan said indifferently, "I'm the general manager; what does it matter if I skip a day."
Marcus was speechless as Ethan smiled and helped him put all his luggage into the trunk.
Sitting in the car, Ethan inclined his head to look at Marcus's Depressed appearance. He knew that he must have slept here without eating again and slept very badly, and he helplessly asked, "It's noon. Do you want to go eat?"
Marcus leaned on the passenger seat, closed his eyes, and shook his head. "No, go straight back."Compared to filling his stomach, he now wanted to lie on the bed and bury his head to sleep again.
Ethan didn't try to persuade him, so he drove the car directly to his apartment.
This place Ethan has been here twice, came up to spend the night once, and is also familiar with the road; into the door, Marcus did not even shower. Ethan dropped a sentence, "You can go back," took off his coat, fell on the bed, and fell asleep; Ethan is slightly irritated with this attitude. Hee is still his own nonchalant, hesitated for a moment, and went out the door but did not go to bed. Ethan was slightly annoyed at his continued lack of warmth and paused momentarily. He went out the door but did not go far; he went to a nearby supermarket.
When Marcus woke up after a whole night's sleep, it was already evening and almost dark outside. After showering and changing his clothes, he stepped out of his room refreshed and realized that Ethan was still in his house. He was now leaning back on the sofa watching TV.
"You haven't left yet?"
Ethan looked up at the sound and smiled, "Awake? Do you want to eat now?"
Marcus could still feel his stomach singing an empty song as he said that. He hadn't eaten for nearly twenty hours, and the eerie aroma from the kitchen tickled his tummy.
"I'm making chicken soup." Ethan got up and walked into the kitchen as soon as the words were out of his mouth.
Marcus thought he had heard wrong and froze momentarily before coming to his senses. He followed him into his initially empty kitchen, which had only been used for decoration. It was now filled with pots and pans, not to mention the soup simmering on the stove and the freshly cooked vegetables.
"...you do?"
"Is there a third person here besides you and me?" chuckled Ethan. "Is that surprising?"
Marcus silently pulled open the refrigerator door beside him. Initially, the refrigerator only had juice and frozen instant food with fresh ingredients. At this moment, Ethan, beside him, said, "I see that you don't have anything at your house. It's no wonder that you solve the meals at the company every day, and you're too incapable of living your life, thanks to which I thought you're an aristocrat pursuing a taste for life."
Marcus looked at him suspiciously, "Are you Ethan?"
Ethan was speechless, "You see if I am?"
"...I wasn't expecting that."
Ethan's behavior and his former impression of Marcus are too far away. Marcus has always thought that the arrogant and self-righteous big man can wash his hands and make soup, but he really can't call him surprised.
"Why don't you go and watch some TV in the living room for a while and you can eat in a quarter of an hour."Ethan started shooing in amusement.
Marcus looked at his skillful spooning and wanted to say, "Let me help you," but then swallowed his words. He would only be more helpful, so he retreated without adding to the chaos.
As Ethan said, a quarter of an hour later, a table of three dishes and a soup of exquisite dishes were on the table, and the color and flavor were good. Ethan handed the rice to Marcus. Marcus took it, after thanking him, still couldn't help but ask: "You didn't grow up in the United States, how do you know how to make these Chinese food?"
"I learned from my grandma," Ethan explained as he handed him a plate of food. My grandma's biggest hobby is cooking, and she said it would be a shame if she didn't have any heirs to pass on her skill, so she forced me to learn from her."
"You usually cook for yourself?"
"Occasionally on weekends," Ethan smiled at Marcus," Big President, I'm also very busy at work, okay? Do you really think I would have so much free time?"
"..."
"But I'm at least a bit better than you, even if I eat out,I will change my taste, unlike you who just recognizes a store and doesn't move,I don't think you're just trying to be convenient, you're simply lazy."
Marcus ate silently, whether it was Chinese or Western food. His dining etiquette is excellent, but at this moment, Ethan's eyes look like Heiss's embarrassed, and he purposely avoids the topic.
"Marcus,let's live together."
Marcus's hand paused as he squeezed the porcelain spoon, and he looked up at him in surprise.
Ethan was still smiling, staring back at him. "I mean,we are legally married in the eyes of outsiders,so it's only right that we live together, and with me, at least you don't have to sit alone in the restaurant. At least you have me. How about it?"
Marcus was a bit speechless for a moment; living with Ethan was something he hadn't thought about before; their engagement was just a deal in his eyes to appease his grandpa so that he could live out his old age in peace, the marriage was already done, and now that his grandpa wasn't around, there was no need for them to be tied up together. He was pretty accustomed to living alone, and to have another person suddenly inserted would make him feel as if he was in his way, and that would make him feel as though he was in his place, but he was not used to living alone. On the contrary, it would give him a feeling that his private domain was being coveted by someone, leaving him a bit at a loss.
"Thinking about it?"Ethan compelled him nonchalantly.
"I'm...not used to being with someone..."
"Habits can be changed, and you weren't planning on being single for the rest of your life, were you," Ethan spoke in such a serious tone on a rare occasion,"Live with me for a piece of your life until you dissolve your marriage."
After a few moments of silence, Marcus compromised, and even he couldn't tell what he felt when he heard Ethan's words, "live with me," come out of his mouth:"... I don't want to move."
"It's okay,I'll just move," Ethan looked around, the corners of his mouth rose,"Your place here is quite nice,I quite like it,my grandma went to England to stay with your grandpa,no one lives in the villa in the countryside,Lucas doesn't want to live there by himself, and he's starting to go to work,so I'm going to let him live there. The apartment I'm living in now is closer to the office,I'll move in with you."
Marcus was too embarrassed to refuse anymore; he could only nod and agree, asking him in passing, "Your brother, he's back?"
"Uh, came back two days ago."Speaking of Lucas, Ethan frowned. This kid disappeared for a few days back to feel with what stimulation, ask him not to say. Still, people are honest and obediently go to the company to report to the company, although something strange seems to have happened. Still, Ethan did not go too far to probe, even if it was his younger brother, who was already an adult, about his private affairs.
Marcus thought momentarily and added, "There are only two rooms in my house; let's give you the den one as a bedroom."
Ethan was so happy that he laughed out loud, "Don't worry, this kind of thing like going to bed is only interesting if you love me and I want to,and there will be no passion if we always sleep together, and I don't intend to sleep in the same room with you."
Marcus was speechless at his cheekiness and didn't bother to say anything else.
Things are so settled. Ethan stayed here that night. The study has not been packed out, so Marcus is still on Marcus's bed, and then they do what is natural. The two people in bed's tacit understanding is getting better.
From Marcus to get the key, Ethan skipped a day of work the next day to move everything. Then he went to the supermarket to add various things to the home and redecorated a bit; the original cold and quiet apartment was changed entirely.
After counting the time, Marcus went to work, went to his company downstairs to pick up people, took him to the farther unique restaurant to eat local dishes, and also went to see a movie together; the two people are similar to this mode of getting along with lovers delightful.
When they got home, it was nearly eleven o'clock. The elevator door opened, and they saw the person squatting in front of their house. The smile at the corner of Ethan's mouth, which was still talking and laughing with Marcus, froze instantly, and Marcus sank into his face after he saw what kind of person he was coming to.
The other party stood up violently when he saw them and carefully called out to Marcus, "Brother Arthur..."
It was that Angus again.
Marcus frowned and asked him, "Why did you run to China?Who told you my home address?"
"...I want to say a few words to you, just a few words."
Ethan took out the key and opened the door, signaling them to go in, "Go inside if you have something to say."
Although he didn't treat the psychotic cousin well, it was better to go inside and talk to him so he wouldn't go crazy and alarm the neighbors.
Angus followed Marcus through the door, and Marcus turned on him with an utterly unfavorable face, "Say what you have to say and leave when you're done."
Angus looked at Ethan and hesitated, "I want to talk to you alone."
Ethan said, "I'm going to take a shower, you guys talk."
Watching Ethan go into the room and pull the door shut, Angus, with a look of resignation flashing in his eyes, asked Marcus, "Have you really decided to stay with him from now on?"
"He and I are married," Marcus said in a single word, not having much extra patience with this cousin.
"I was all set to give up on you,but when I heard the news that you were getting married,I realized I still couldn't do it,I..."
"If that's all you have to say, then there's no need to say it,just go away."
"Aren't...you afraid I'll tell him what you used to do?"
Marcus was stunned momentarily, then went completely cold, "Are you threatening me?"
"If he knows,he may not..."
"That's no big deal at all," Marcus interrupted in annoyance. I don't care; he wouldn't care even if he knew. Have you said enough? Go away."
Angus looked at him almost incredulously, "You hate me that much?"
"Exactly."
"...I'm leaving...I'm leaving..." Angus's voice had a choked tone, and he clenched his fists:"...I'll just go, don't you regret it?"
Whisking the person out, Marcus forcefully opened the door, closed his eyes, and turned to meet Ethan's puzzled gaze, who had already come out of the room behind him. Silent momentarily, he barely smiled at him: "I'm going to shower; you go to sleep first."
After that, he went into his room and closed the door. Ethan followed him up and wanted to knock on the door but thought better of it; Marcus probably didn't want to see himself right now. He and Angus said something Ethan didn't hear, but he also guessed it wouldn't be good. Otherwise, Marcus wouldn't be so angry; thinking of these, Ethan regretted a little if he had known that he would ask Marcus to move to his place. He should have requested Marcus to move to his place.
Angus took out his cell phone from the apartment building, dialed a specific number in silence, and slowly said to the person on the other end, "I'm coming to China; you take me in."
