Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

Since the marriage was settled, Ethan saw Marcus again two weeks later. The next day, LK's sales manager permanently moved to meet him to talk about cooperation before Ethan went back to the United States to attend his grandfather's birthday banquet; the details of the contract had been finalized, waiting for the final signing of the contract.

Because of this, Ethan finally found a good reason to push back his grandfather's offer to return to the U.S. a few days earlier for a blind date. According to the original schedule, he signed a high-profile official cooperation contract with LK the day before he left.

The signing place was in the ballroom of a five-star hotel near Laison, and there was also a small-scale media conference. Since the retirement of the President of Laison's mainland region last year, the President's position has been vacant. Ethan is now at the highest level as the company's general manager. Marcus stood with the media photographed the next day and appeared on the website's economic section of several newspapers and magazines, which was also very eye-catching.

At this moment, Ethan stood beside Marcus, looking at the usually cold and reticent person to accept the reporter's interview with ease; he said the reason for the cooperation between the two families and the prospect of the future, really even he is also a little ashamed of himself, and then suddenly thought of such a bed under the maturity and stability of the bed of the man is going to become their own man, for a time there is something similar to the pride of the emotion! Inexplicably, some prideful emotions came out.

Of course, Ethan was always confident and was not bad, no matter how you looked; even if he and Marcus got together, it would be a match made in heaven.

After the signing ceremony and media conference, there was still a banquet. Marcus didn't stay long and was ready to go back to the company, but before he went out, he was stopped by someone. Ethan's eyes fell on his hand, and he nudged his mouth, 'Where's the ring?'

  'Too much trouble.'

Ethan laughed, of course, trouble. He wore a ring that appeared in the company, ushered in countless curious eyes, good relations with subordinates also took turns to run to inquire about whether it was a good thing close, how so suddenly, before a little bit of wind, Ethan was very frankly admitted to getting married, as for the object of the question was to a sentence this is a private matter! As for the question of who he is marrying, he said it was a private matter and sent him back.

Marcus was not interested in getting married, so it was understandable that he would not want to get into such trouble.

'The banquet hasn't finished yet, it's not good for you to exit first, right?'

Marcus glanced at the hall full of people, not caring. 'The contract is signed, the conference is over, the rest is all just face work. I haven't finished my work yet. If you want me to not be able to get on a plane tomorrow and not be able to go to New York with you, then I'll stay.'

Ethan was happy, 'That's the first time I've heard you say such a long sentence in one breath.' Talking business didn't count.

Marcus didn't pay any more attention to him, so he turned around and just walked away.

At 5:30 p.m., Marcus, who was reading documents at his desk, picked up the intercom, and his secretary Linda's voice rang out, 'President, the general manager of Lyson is here, saying he wants to see you.'

Marcus was slightly surprised but didn't hesitate to say, 'Please ask him to come in.'

Ethan smiled and swung in, his sight sweeping through Marcus's nearly empty office. It was like his home style: pure black and white cold colors, spotless, and no unnecessary furnishings. The only thing that counts as furnishings is his sitting in the office chair, like a perfect work of art, the big President Marcus.

Marcus lifted his head from the file and did not bother to greet him. He directly asked, 'Something wrong?'

Ethan smiled and said, 'I'm your fiancé, can't I come to you if there's nothing wrong?'

Marcus no longer answered. He lowered his head and was ready to continue reading the documents. Ethan walked forward and knocked lightly on the table, consciously maintaining a certain distance. He did not look at the papers on his desk. He asked, 'You have always been so cold and indifferent to people, even stingy to say a few more words?'

Marcus looked quizzically at him and frowned thoughtfully, 'Does it concern you?'

  'And to William? As well?'

Ethan thought of the occasional threesomes they used to have. Marcus seemed to speak very little in general as well. It was always him and William talking while Marcus just listened, and Ethan couldn't imagine what kind of get-together they could be when he wasn't there.

As soon as he heard him mention William, Marcus's face sank. Ethan was a little helpless at the sight. It was true that there were still taboos that he couldn't talk about.

'What the hell are you doing here?' Marcus was getting a little impatient.

'Got off work, drove by your office downstairs, and came up to check it out.' He did come on a whim, and as he passed by the car, he drove downstairs right into a traffic jam. He went straight into the car park and came up the stairs.

'I haven't finished my work yet, please go back if it's okay.'

  'Going to dinner or not?'

'My secretary ordered takeout for me.'

'Since Marcus doesn't appreciate it, forget it. Just don't forget your flight at nine tomorrow morning.' Ethan shrugged his shoulders. Marcus was so disrespectful that there was no point in talking about it anymore, and he looked like he was making a fool of himself, so he simply turned around and walked away.

Standing in the lift, jumping down two floors, Ethan remembered that he had come in here for another purpose—it seemed to be to borrow the toilet—so he directly let the lift stop at the next floor, opened the door to see that it was still the territory of the LK company, and then also nonchalantly went into the bathroom to go.

Some people were talking in front of the washbasin; they didn't notice Ethan coming in. One of them said, 'The President has been too unpredictable lately. He refused to let go of his promise to cooperate with Lyson, and then he suddenly instructed me to sign a contract. I've been working overtime for almost two weeks for this, and the dust has settled today!'

Another person said, 'The president went to the headquarters for a meeting, and I heard from the grapevine that it was the headquarters that meant it.'

  'Headquarters?'

'Well, said several areas of the agent's contract will expire one after another, the headquarters has the intention of looking for partners to sign a few areas or even the world's exclusive agent, can meet the conditions of a total of not a few companies, Lysol in several continents have branch offices, the Chinese mainland area is their future strategic center, the headquarters seems to be very important to the Chinese market, of course, will choose to Lysol, the first mainland area to try the water, and then expand cooperation side to try the water, and then expand the co-cooperation 'Is it true?'

'I told you it's just gossip, just listen to it.'

Ethan took advantage of the work they were discussing, turning around and going into the cubicle until the two left before coming out. He washed his hands and stood in front of the sink momentarily. Ultimately, he smiled, turned around, went out, and stood before the lift door, but he pressed the up button.

Looked once again in front of their smile a face of sunshine bright people full of helpless faces followed in to give himself to buy takeaway. Linda, Marcus' first food received thanked directly after nothing more I can do the rest of your finish you first get off work, go back early.'

Let the secretary leave first. This only impatiently asked about Ethan:'You're not going?'

Ethan rushed to the closed door and said, 'I can't see that you are usually cold and expressionless, but you are really considerate to your own secretary.'

Marcus didn't want to pay attention to him. Ethan came over and leaned on the side of his desk, smiling. 'Marcus, if there was no such thing as marriage, would you have given the agency to Lyson?'

Marcus glanced up at him, 'As I said before, it's better to renew my contract with Starry than to work with you.'

'Hmm? So it was my unreasonable request that caused your company to suffer?'

'Since you know that, then expect Lysol to fight for it and not make us regret choosing the wrong partner to work with in the future.'

Ethan smiled, 'But how did I hear that it was your head office's intention to choose Laison?'

Ethan was sure that for a moment, he saw a flash of surprise in Marcus'eyes, although he quickly regained his eyes full of calmness and calmly asked back,' Why don't I know?'

'You don't want to admit it?'

'Does Ethan the Great mean by that that you know more about our company's affairs than I do?'

Marcus's tone had taken on a bit of not-so-kind mockery, and the corner of Ethan's mouth rose, 'The contract has already been signed, if I say I don't want to get married now, what are you going to do?'

The day after they decided to get married, the two families were informed. Ethan followed Marcus to see his grandfather, the older man's happy and excited look he still remembers; a week ago, his grandmother accompanied his grandfather back to the UK to recuperate in the meantime to prepare for the wedding, he said that after they went to New York to attend the birthday banquet of the great-grandfather, and Ethan's family side of the matter, then go to the UK to register, Ethan knows very well. Ethan knew very well that if he backed out now, his grandmother would be fine, and he might be scolded a few times, but Marcus's grandpa would be devastated.

Sure enough, Marcus's eyes, which had not been warm, turned even colder as he listened to him, 'Are you serious?'

'Didn't you say I was selfish and overbearing? I was already, ah. Why would I want to lose myself in it when my purpose has been achieved?' Ethan said while looking at Marcus with a smile on his face. Marcus said this that day at William's wedding in front of him after he had drunk too much. He was indeed careful and had been thinking about it.

Even if he aims to achieve the present tricky repentance, in addition to being scolded for character problems, Marcus really can not take him.

'... You mention the conditions, I'll try to satisfy you.'

Marcus only hesitated for three seconds and calmly threw out such a sentence. Ethan, in turn, froze for a moment and then lost his smile. Marcus's reaction was not something he could have predicted, but it had a few points of meaning, so he reached over and clasped his wrist, 'Let's go.'

  'Where to?'

Ethan raised an eyebrow, 'I thought you said you wanted me to make a deal? Then don't eat this, now come with me to dinner.' Since the marriage was settled, Ethan saw Marcus again two weeks later.
