Hero finally arrived at the Spirits Academy. At first, he felt uneasy because he rarely went outside and was afraid of being in crowded places. However, to his surprise, he saw his dearest childhood friend, Yugo, at the academy.
Hero immediately ran toward Yugo, shouting, "Yugo-ooo!" from afar. Yugo suddenly stopped, recognizing that voice from long ago. He quickly turned around and saw that it was indeed Hero. However, instead of happiness, anger filled Yugo's face.
Hero reached out his hand to greet him, but Yugo coldly said, "Put your hand down. I can't shake hands with you. This isn't home or our family; this is an academy. Here, I am an elite-class special hunter, while you are just an ordinary hunter." He mocked Hero.
Hero felt emotionally crushed. If the person closest to him treated him this way, how would the others behave?
Yugo then said, "Come on, I'll show you your dorm." He guided Hero around the entire academy. Later, Hero thanked him, but Yugo ignored his words.
The Next Day
The new day began. Hero, a first-year student, was determined to have a good first lesson. He left his dorm and walked down the hallway towards his classroom. However, he was puzzled—why was the hallway empty?
As he opened the classroom door, he saw the teacher and other students already inside. "Did I already miss my first lesson?" Hero thought in shock.
Their teacher, Gas Krinji, who was in charge of teaching them about hunting, looked at Hero and said, "Hey! Why are you late? This is your first class!"
Hero thought for a moment and admitted, "Sir, I overslept."
Gas chuckled to himself, thinking, "Wow, an honest student—what a rare sight." Then, he allowed Hero to take his seat.
Hero sighed, "Yugo isn't here. Who am I supposed to sit with?" As he was thinking, a girl suddenly bumped into him from behind.
"Excuse me! I need to get to class!" she said.
Hero turned around and saw that it was Akira, another new student. She was the only one without a seat, so they ended up sitting together at the back.
Gas wrote on the board: "Absolute Technique."
He then asked, "Does anyone know what this means?"
A student named Merkin stood up confidently and said, "Yes, I do. Absolute Technique is a special ability or magic that every hunter possesses. Each hunter has a unique Absolute Technique."
To demonstrate, Merkin used his hands to create water and turned it into bubbles, which lifted all the students up to the ceiling.
Gas smirked, "Well done! You know quite a bit." Then, with a lightning-like laser from his hand, he brought all the students back down.
"You will practice this technique outside," he announced and sent them out.
As Hero walked outside, he thought, "Could I have an ability like that too?"
Just then, he almost fell into the academy's large pool. However, Akira saved him using her ability before he could fall in.
Akira gasped in surprise, "Wow! I have a special ability too!" She was overjoyed.
Hero, still in shock, walked up to her and said, "Thank you for saving me."
Akira's face immediately turned as red as a tomato.
