Chapter 6 - chapter 6: A Series of Unpleasant News

6 Bob: A Series of Unpleasant News

A fierce battle was taking place at the school, where Hero and Yugo were facing each other one-on-one. This fight was meant to determine Hero's abilities.

Yugo: If you can't even sense your own ability, you won't be able to unlock it. You need to take a weapon in your hands—something like a katana.

Yugo handed a katana to Hero.

Hero: Why a katana? I can't even handle a simple knife in battle.

Yugo: If you can channel your spiritual energy through the katana, your ability will start to manifest, even if only slightly.

Hero: Really?

Yugo: Yes, he said, drawing his sword.

At that moment, a battle between the two close friends began. Since Hero couldn't properly use the katana at first, he was losing. Just then, the school's postman arrived and called out, "Hero Kravel, where are you?"

Hero: "I'm here!" he replied.

The moment he answered, Yugo struck Hero's katana with his own sword, sending it flying. Hero, startled, quickly grabbed the letter and opened it. What he saw shocked him—it was a letter stating that his parents had been killed.

At first, Hero couldn't believe it. Then Yugo asked, "Hey, are you okay?"

Hero, with tears in his eyes, mumbled, "No… this can't be true… it's all a lie." He then ran out of the school in despair.

The Gathering of Spirits - 2017

This phenomenon only occurred when hunters were killed or lost a battle.

In the distance, a man in a black suit and dress shoes was walking down the corridor, his steps echoing through the hall. Who was he?

This was none other than Nero Flayuis, a top-ranked, highly skilled hunter. He had been away from the school due to international assignments.

He was tasked with investigating the death of Teven and uncovering the truth behind the incident.

Nero accepted the task without hesitation and left the gathering place.

When Nero arrived at Teven's house by car, he found it surrounded by police officers. Without difficulty, he entered the house. The house and its surroundings were in ruins.

"There was a battle here. Teven fought someone… or perhaps multiple people."

A detective assisting in the investigation asked:

"Can you be more precise?"

Nero: "Yes. Someone attacked this place. It seems like there were two or three of them."

Detective Hunter: "I see. Any other clues?"

Nero: "One of them appears to have used long-range attacks. The destroyed walls bear marks similar to sniper shots."

Detective: "And what about Teven's body?"

Detective Hunter: "His body is missing. It was either completely erased or disposed of without leaving a trace. I have searched the entire house—there are no signs of his remains, not even those of the guards."

Nero: "Interesting… In that case, I need to inspect the house again." He chuckled and suddenly disappeared.

The detective muttered, "At first, I thought you were a serious person, but you haven't changed at all."

Nero: "Come on, you can't be serious all the time! Life is meant to be enjoyed with a smile."

Then, suddenly—

"Stop right there! Who are you?"

Hero: "I am Teven's son."

Nero, thinking to himself: "Teven had a son?"

Then he said, "I understand your grief, but don't worry. We'll get to the bottom of this soon."

Hero, with a solemn face, asked, "Are you a detective?"

Nero: "No, I'm a teacher at the academy."

Hero: "What?!"

Nero: "Yes. Have you never heard of me? Wait, do you study at the academy?"

Hero: "Yes."

Nero: "Really? And yet, you don't know about me?" He jokingly patted Hero's shoulder. Suddenly, they found themselves back at the school.

Hero: "Hey… Can I call you 'Sensei' instead of your name?"

Nero: "Of course."

Hero: "Then, Sensei, please… Teach me how to fight and master my ability."

Nero, without hesitation, responded, "If you train under me, you'll become a professional hunter like I am."

At that moment, Yugo appeared.

Yugo: "Why are you feeding Hero false hope?"

Nero looked at Yugo and smirked:

"Yugo, you've grown a lot. I was away for a while, and now you've all changed so much."

Then he said, "Come on, let's go." He led Hero and Yugo into the academy.

One Hour Later

Nero was sitting in the academy cafeteria, sipping his coffee. He thought to himself:

"Hero has an extraordinary level of spiritual energy and strength. His ability is terrifying. When I met him, he copied my technique instantly. And the most interesting part… He doesn't even know how to use it properly. I wonder when other students like him will appear. I don't know… But if he uses his full power now, he could even defeat hunters like me. Wait… What am I even saying? He could fight me on equal ground?"
