In the Forest
The silence between them stretched, the only sounds coming from the rustling leaves and the distant cries of unseen creatures.
V exhaled softly, his gaze drifting to the trees around them before returning to Bronya.
V:"I'm just a dead man who's lost his way, that's all."
Bronya eyes narrowed slightly, watching him with quiet caution.
V continued, his voice calm but firm.
V:"But who I am doesn't matter, What matters is this, do you want to save Seele or not? If you work with me, I'll tell you where she was taken."
Bronya stiffened at his words.
Her usual unreadable expression faltered for a split second before she quickly masked it again.
Bronya:"How do you know about Seele?"
she asked, her voice steady, but there was an edge to it one that hinted at something deeper.
V:"I don't know,"
he admitted.
V:"My memories… they're broken, tangled, Some feel real, some don't, I can't tell what's the truth and what's just an illusion anymore."
Memories that stretched beyond what a normal human should possess.
Time had twisted them, fractured them, leaving him uncertain of what was his own past and what was merely an echo of something long lost.
Bronya held his gaze for a long moment before nodding.
Bronya:"If you really have a way to help Seele, then Bronya will listen,"
she said, her tone firm.
Bronya:"But if you're lying—Bronya won't forgive you."
A sudden beep interrupted the tense moment.
V earpiece buzzed to life, and Mei's voice came through.
Mei"V, Bronya—we found something."
V brows furrowed.
V:"What is it?"
Mei:"The remains of a Honkai Beast,"
Mei reported.
Mei:"We found it while scouting. But that's not all—the Honkai energy in the area is spiking."
V:"Where are you now?"
Mei:"I'll send the coordinates."
A few seconds later, his device beeped again, displaying a holographic map with a marked location.
V nodded to himself.
V:"Alright. Stay there, We're on our way."
Mei:"Understood,"
Mei replied before the transmission cut off.
V turned back to Bronya.
V"We'll talk about Seele when we get back. Right now, let's focus on the mission."
Bronya didn't hesitate this time.
She gave a sharp nod.

In the Forest
Mei stood among the scattered remains of Honkai Beasts, her arms crossed as she waited. When she spotted V and Bronya approaching, she raised a hand to wave them over.
Mei:"You're finally here."
Bronya barely spared Mei a glance before her sharp eyes swept across the area, narrowing at the sight of the defeated creatures.
Bronya: "Don't tell me this was that idiot's doing,"
There was an edge of irritation in her voice, her mind already picturing a certain white-haired troublemaker.
Mei shook her head.
Mei:"No, it was already like this when we arrived."
V gaze darkened slightly.
V:"Where's Kiana?"
Mei sighed, rubbing her temple.
Mei:"She ran off on her own to explore."
Her tone carried a familiar exasperation, as if this wasn't the first—or even the tenth—time Kiana had done something reckless.
V exhaled through his nose.
V:"I see, Did you encounter any Honkai Beasts while scouting?"
Mei gave a small nod.
Mei:"A few. Why?"
Bronya glanced at V.
Bronya: "Bronya and V didn't see a single one on our way."
V expression remained unreadable as he processed the information.
V"That means the source of the anomaly must be somewhere in this area."
Mei tensed slightly.
Mei:"Then that means… we need to find Kiana quickly."
Worry seeped into her voice.
Before anyone could say another word, a loud explosion ripped through the forest, sending birds flying from the treetops.
V eyes flickered toward the direction of the blast.
V:"Looks like we found our problem."
Bronya huffed.
Bronya:"Bronya thinks that explosion is more likely caused by that idiot."
V didn't argue.
V:"Either way, we should move now—there's a good chance Kiana has already engaged with whatever's causing this disturbance."
Without hesitation, all three of them broke into a sprint, heading toward the source of the explosion.

The moment they arrived at the source of the explosion, a familiar figure shot through the air toward them.
Mei:"Kiana!"
Mei gasped, rushing forward just in time to catch her.
Kiana winced, barely able to keep herself upright.
Her body was covered in wounds, her usual energy now replaced by exhaustion.
Mei:"Kiana, are you okay!?"
Mei's voice trembled with concern, her arms tightening around her.
Before anyone could process what had happened, a sudden presence surged toward them—a hostile force moving with deadly intent.
V intercepted the attack from the enemy with the sword he had taken from Mei, as the sword had been kept behind her, making it easy to draw.
At the same time, Bronya moved with precision, her massive firearm already aimed and firing before the attacker could land another blow.
The masked figure swiftly leaped back, evading the shot.
Bronya wasted no time.
Bronya:"Project Bunny—fire."
Her mechanical companion responded instantly, unleashing another barrage.
The attack struck, a cloud of dust and smoke erupting on impact.
Despite that, neither V nor Bronya let their guard down.
Their instincts told them that wasn't enough.
And they were right.
As the smoke cleared, a lone figure emerged—a person clad in a black coat and hood, face hidden behind a blank white mask. Only their eyes were visible, dark and unreadable.
Bronya expression hardened.
Bronya:"Who are you?"
she demanded, gun still trained on the masked figure.
Bronya:"And why did you attack us?"
For a long moment, there was only silence.
Then—
V exhaled, his grip on the sword unwavering.
V:"They won't answer."
Bronya barely spared him a glance, keeping her focus on the enemy before them.
Bronya:"And how do you know that?"
Mei, still supporting Kiana, turned toward V with the same unspoken question in her gaze.
V:"Because I know exactly who's standing in front of us."
