Chapter 33 - Misunderstanding

___A few weeks later___

Yuna walked toward the practice studio, her heart pounding with excitement. She wanted to surprise Eunwoo, to see his reaction when he saw her. The members of Nova had welcomed her warmly, smiling as they pointed her to Eunwoo's practice room.

But the moment she opened the door, her entire body froze.

Eunwoo and that girl...

His dance partner had her arms around his neck, pressing her body against him. The choreography required them to end the dance face-to-face, their lips just inches apart. But what truly shattered Yuna wasn't just the pose—it was the look in the girl's eyes.

She really wanted to kiss him.

Yuna's chest tightened.

Eunwoo's eyes were closing, as if lost in the moment, but then—he suddenly sensed something. His eyes snapped open and immediately locked onto the doorway.

Where Yuna stood.

His expression changed instantly. "Yuna—"

But before he could say anything, Yuna turned on her heels and rushed out.

Eunwoo quickly pushed the girl away and ran toward the door. "Yuna, wait!"

But she was already gone.

She had completely misunderstood what she saw.

__Trap__

Eunwoo arrived at the location Hwan had called him to—an abandoned ruin, eerie in its silence.

"Hwan! I'm here. Just tell me what you want."

A voice echoed from the shadows. "Oh, finally, you came."

Eunwoo narrowed his eyes. "What do you want from me, Hwan?"

Hwan smirked. "Oh, Eunwoo… I just want to teach you a little lesson. Because giving me a fake bracelet was a big mistake."

Eunwoo took a deep breath. He had expected this.

But Hwan wasn't done. "You know, I've learned a few things about you. And I think you should hear them too."

A strange unease settled in Eunwoo's chest. "What are you talking about?"

Hwan's eyes gleamed. "Have you ever truly thought about your father? Who he was? Whether he was ever honest with you?"

Eunwoo's face darkened. "My father is one of the archangels. And angels don't do evil."

Hwan suddenly laughed. "Oh, really? Then listen carefully to what I'm about to tell you, Eunwoo."

Eunwoo frowned. "What nonsense are you spouting?"

Hwan stepped closer. "Your father claimed to love my mother. But the truth is, he only used her for his own benefit."

Eunwoo's breath caught in his throat. "What?"

Hwan's gaze burned with resentment. "My mother truly loved him—foolishly. But your father only saw her as a tool. He never loved her. He only needed her. And in the end, he forced her to marry someone else. Not only that… he planned to have her killed."

Eunwoo felt his body freeze.

"My mother risked everything to keep me safe. She spent years hiding from him, protecting me. But in the end, your father found her… and slaughtered her right in front of my eyes."

Eunwoo clenched his fists.

He had never heard any of this before.

"I was only three years old, Eunwoo. My mother gave me that bracelet back then. But your father's men came, took it from me, and left me for dead. And do you know what else? They were going to kill me too."

Eunwoo stood frozen, unable to move.

"But someone saved me."

Eunwoo slowly looked up.

Hwan's voice was sharp as a blade. "Now tell me, Eunwoo… are you still going to defend your father?"

Eunwoo closed his eyes. The storm inside him clashed with his anger. His father's sins… this was the first time he had heard them.

Slowly, Eunwoo reached into his pocket.

And pulled out the real bracelet.

With a swift motion, he tossed it toward Hwan.

Hwan caught it, his eyes widening for a brief second. The real one? He was actually giving it to him?

Eunwoo's voice was firm. "This belongs to you. To its rightful owner."

Hwan stared at him. Shocked, but not letting it show.

Eunwoo felt guilt creeping into his chest.

But he wouldn't run from his father's past.

He pulled out his phone, checking the time.

It wasn't too late yet.

He had to fix Yuna's misunderstanding—before it was.
