Chapter 3 - -one-

One night, they had to negotiate with a Mafia gang in their club, and this night event inspired and fired everyone in society about Killa Lysander.

"Lysander, I told you this contract is too much." The head of the mafia's gang said, "We have a business here. We can't choose the customers if they want to try our stuff."

"I don't care who your customers are, but you already signed the contract not to cross other lands," Germogen said,

"I didn't cross anything." The leader of the gang, who had gray hair mixed with brown, said,

"You think I'm stupid? You chose this location next to the cross line of someone's territory... not just for showing off your new club for sure." Germogen said calmly, frustrated in the way.

"Hmm, are you worrying about them too much? Why? Are you scared of them?" the leader teased Germogen,

"Do I look scared?" Germogen replied calmly,

"Then why? We are Mafia here! We aren't scared of them." that man excitedly raised his voice.

"There are rules," Germogen said,

"Come on,"

"If you break it, you know what to face."

"Hm, you're taking their side, right!!? how much did he give you, Lysander!?"

The gang leader got up and raised his hand to touch Germogen. Killa was watching everything and pulled out her knife, and then Killa grabbed his hand and pushed down on the table with a knife stab at the middle of the leader's right hand. "Ahhh!!" He screamed so loud as if he was going to die.

"Don't fucking touch my father, old man," Killa said to him with a steady face, but her eyes were intimidating like her action, and everybody was shocked, including Yeongho and Germogen.

"You!!" And then his bodyguard pulled out his gun aim at Killa,

Then Yeoungho pulled that guy's arm back, grabbed his neck harshly, pushed his head down to the table, and fell to the ground. This kind of situation should be the bodyguard's duty, but Killa didn't have one. Also, Yeongho was very pissed off.

"Rules are rules, and you—shouldn't piss the Lysanders off," Germogent said, "Yeongho,"

Father ordered him.

POW!!

Yeongho shot the leader and ordered his bodyguard to kill the rest of the room

On the way back to the Lysander castle, Killa was in the same car as Yeongho, silently sitting together in the back seat. Yeongho had been looking at Killa since he stepped into the car.

"Thank you," Killa said. He looked at her eyes, wondering "Back there." she said,

"He deserved it," Yeongho said with a steady face.

"Thank you anyway." She said back and smiled a little at him.

They weren't talkative people, but Yeongho opened his mouth for her more than other family members. They had a special bond without saying a word to each other much, and because of the work, their relationship was growing, or at least for him. Even though he never said any feelings or showed what he felt only scary and mad faces, he still had a soft spot for Killa.

Germogen sometimes let Yeongho and Killa manage and handle some work for him. He trusted them to work together. Their age gap is not that far—5 years. They worked hard, and there were no problems during the mission. They were both ruthless and seemed to be more mature than other siblings.

One night, after they had cleared their duties, Killa looked out the car window on the way back home, seeing the views. She thought the jobs and orders her father gave her didn't fulfill her empty mind. She did what she had to do because of her father's order and hadn't found her identity or interest yet. In other words, she's been searching for it for so long, but none felt right for her, including the tasks, missions, mafia stuff, and even family business. While she was sitting in the back seat with her brother, she saw a group of teenage girls wearing school uniforms, talking, and having fun. They smiled just by talking with each other. Killa never felt like that—the smile that comes out automatically and from the heart.

"Yeongho," Killa called him,

"Hm?" Yeongho made a noise.

"Do you...want to keep living like this?" she asked,

Killa turned 15 years old, and now, it was time to choose her interests and her first bodyguard. One of the Lysander rules is that when the kid turns 15 years old, they have to select their first bodyguard, and after that, they can choose more or just keep working with the same one. The Bodyguards who work hard or just impress their own master will be promoted to the position of the master's best man, which means he or she will work very closely with the master and always be by their side, taking care of, giving the master protection, etcetera (always means always) The best man must dedicate his work, his body, or even his soul to their master. And importantly, the best man can only serve their own master, not anyone else. But if they are still in the bodyguard position, they work for the Lysander family and serve everybody under the Lysander name.

Father's office

"Killa, try to drink this tea...I heard you haven't slept very well." Germogen said,

"Thank you, Father," she said, and the maid served her tea. His best man tried to find a special one for her because of her sleeping problems, of course, due to Germogen's order.

"You're 15 now," Germogen said,

'I know he asked to see me for this reason,' Killa thought.

"Have you found anything interesting for you yet?" He asked her with a look of wanting something from her. "If you haven't, how about you keep working with me?"

'Hm?' Killa was curious.

"Like Yeongho...you can assist me until it's the appropriate time then..."

"I would like to go to school." She interrupted,

"School?" He repeated what he heard.

"Yes, I would like to go to school." She insisted.

'She seems serious,' he looked deeply at her. "Sure, but—you must continue to do the work as well.' She was listening. "I'll let you go to school, but you still have to do the missions and help me when I give orders." He explained.

"Yes," she said,

"Out of nowhere? Do I need to know something?" He asked with a confused feeling.

"I just want to go...and I want to know what it's like to be in school," she said truthfully,

'Is it a real reason? But she... never lied; she is always straightforward when she wants something,' Germogen thought while looking at his daughter. "Then I choose a school for you," he said,

"Thank you, Father," she replied,

"You're young, so you can keep searching for what you want, Killa. Since you're good at everything you try or touch and seem to have no interest in anything in particular, I allow you," he said with a little smirk.

"Thank you, Father," she said,

"Anyway, you're 15, and it's time to have a personal bodyguard. When you do the tasks outside, I know that Yeongho's best man keeps you company." He said the fact that Killa always avoided. He gave her what she wanted, and she needed to follow the rules.

"It's just Yeongho's order, but he doesn't do much anyway. I can protect myself and all the work I have done. I always do my part and never be a burden to Yeongho and his best man." She explained with a steady face. Her reactions and expressions often made someone around her feel intimidated. Her steady face had a fierce look, like tiger eyes, and no one exactly knew what was in her mind.

"I know. You comprehend the situations very well and never fear any troubles coming up to you. I've seen that. But..." He paused,

'So he still wants a bodyguard for me? I don't want anyone to work for me or walk me around places, ' Killa thought frustratedly. "I don't want bodyguards to walk behind or protect me. I can do any work by myself." Killa explained with a serious look.

Germogen was in silence and looked straight at her eyes. "Many of them really want to be your bodyguard, even your best man at this age. There's a guy who works with you when you do outside work. He seems very enthusiastic when it comes to you. And he's in excellent shape."

'He wants a man to follow me...and report to him, I know...' Killa thought. But she said nothing.

"You seem upset." Germogen caught her energy from her looks.

"Yes," she said. Germogen's best man was shocked by her answer; his eyes were wide open, and he tried to keep his calm. "I'm sorry, Father. If I am self-willed, you have hundreds of men who do the work and help with the mission as usual. I'm more than okay with that since they are all good. So I don't need a personal one, Father." She explained again, trying to meet her will.

'She surely wants what she wants. She's so stubborn,' Germogen thought with an upsetting face. His best man feared his master would get mad and do harsh things to her like other children. "You know, it's just not because of the rules. I am worried about you, Killa. Even though I know that you need no men, you are still my child." Germogen said,

'Your child?' Killa thought and looked down on the floor.

"Fine—at least for now." Germogen surrendered,

"Thank you, Father." She replied, and then she left the room.

Deep down in his heart, Germogen believed Killa was not the same as other kids. She might be smart like Kristina, fearless like Liselotte, scary and mad like Yeongho, and very charming when she knows what she wants, the negotiation, the talking, and the look like Riagán, but she's different. Could anyone imagine if a person included those personalities in one person? And if someday Killa knows what she really wants and she won't get that—that could be terrifying.

"Master," Germogen's best man called, "I never thought you were going to give her a lot of permissions like that."

"Yeah, me too," Germogen said,

"Miss Killa doesn't look like she scared of you, Master." Germogen's best man said,

Germogen chuckled, "Because she knows what she wants."

"Miss Liselotte is also a stubborn person. If she wants something, she has to get it—but somehow a bit different." Germogen's best man analyzed.

"You're going to tell me that everybody is scared of me, but Killa isn't?" Germogen asked,

"Yes, Master," he said directly,

"Haha, you're right. She's more than a headstrong person, but don't you think she would be the best leader of all?" Germogen chuckled and totally agreed with his best man.

'Shouldn't he be concerned for her? How is the future if she isn't scared of him? It can be chaos, ' his best man thought, listened, and watched his master mysteriously smile.

"No need to worry for me," Germogen exhaled his cigar's air. "she ain't scared of me, but she still gives me respect," Germogen said,

"Yes, Master," his best man replied.

After the conversation between Killa and her father, she had been waiting a week to pass—to get her uniform and let her father set the right things for her new school. Killa was lying down on her bed, looking at the school uniform across the bed with sparkling eyes. She couldn't wait for the next day to come.

"What's it going to be like?" Killa mumbled. We'll know tomorrow," she said to herself. She hugged her pillow so tight that she rolled her body left and right on her bed with excitement.

Finally, her important day had come, and Killa wore her new uniform: a light brown short skirt and a white short-sleeve shirt with a red bow in the middle of her breast. Killa looked cute in it. She looked at herself in the mirror, turning left and right and smiling at her uniform. She not only felt cute in this uniform but was also excited for her school.

She went downstairs and met everybody at the dining table. Germogen was sitting at the top of the table. On his left side was Yeongho, and Riagán, next to him, was Liselotte. Kristina was sitting on the right side of her father's seat. Killa walked to her seat next to Kristina with all eyes on her.

"Is it a new trend, wearing a school uniform?" Liselotte spoke up.

"Killa is going to school," Germogen said,

"What, seriously!?" Liselotte was shocked, as was everyone else.

"Yes, Lise," Killa said her short name, showing the growth of their connection. Yeongho ate in silence but still glanced at Killa sometimes. Riagán ate his raw egg and looked at her with a mastermind face, as always. Kristina didn't care much; she just ate her pasta as breakfast. Not for Liselotte, who was curious and excited about her sister.

"School? It isn't as interesting as you think." Kristina said after the long quiet time.

"I think you look cute in school uniform," Riagán said with his unique smile but genuinely enough.

"Thanks, Ree," Killa said with a smile and also called him in the short term.

Ree and Yeongho looked at her smile, which sounded like that of a cute girl who was eager to see the world outside.

"School ha? I wish I could go too. Schoolboys must be dolls; I would love to see that." Lise spoke her mind and showed her dreaming eyes.

"They go to school to study. If you go there, all the boys will run away from you anyway." Kristina said without looking at Lise one bit.

Lise stares at her angrily, "What did you say!!?" She got up right away and pulled out her big gun to Kristina.

Everyone was silent, and no one cared what Lise was doing; they continued eating.

"Be careful, Killa. Those kids aren't the same as ours," Ree said to her, ignoring the big gun that crossed his head.

"I know...that's why I chose to go," Killa said,

"Hahaha," Ree laughed, but Killa couldn't tell whether his laugh was genuine.

"That's enough, both of you," Germogen called out his first daughter and second daughter with a furious face, and Lise kept her gun immediately.

"Killa, do you want me to ride you?" Germogen offered,

"It's okay, Father. I can go there by myself." She refused. Everybody listened to her.

"I'll be going," She said, and everybody watched her leave.
