Chapter 10 - Lucas Grayson

First his sisters, then Lilith, and now the Moonshade twins? Just how many people were on this list?

How many potential members would he encounter?

And more importantly, would they all end up being part of his harem? And why are there so many females with these fantasy races?

At the same time, he wanted to know why these races all came here to awaken their superpower. Isn't there something similar in their hometown or something similar?

He turned his question inward. 'System, why would elf princesses and other fantasy beings need to awaken their powers here? Don't they already have unique abilities?'

As for the topic about how these beings exist did make him question the system, and the system just said that he will learn about it in the future.

And just like last time the system was silent for a moment before finally responding. [That information is currently unavailable. You will understand in due time.]

Ethan frowned at the vague response. In due time? That wasn't an answer, and he knew the system was avoiding the full truth. But he could push for answers later.

As he thought about this, questions upon questions filled his mind, but he pushed them aside, focusing on the two smiling beauties in front of him.

"Evelyn, Everly. What a pleasant surprise. I didn't know you two were coming today," he said, smiling at them.

"Of course, we're here," Evelyn replied, her soft voice filled with amusement.

"As we are also here to awaken our superpowers," Everly continued, her melodic tone mirroring her sister's.

Their gazes locked onto him, and a strange sense of familiarity washed over him, like he was meeting them for the first time yet also seeing a side of them that he had never known before.

He couldn't put his finger on it, but there was something different about them, and not just their appearance.

He had grown up with them, had played, fought, studied, and gone through all the ups and downs of adolescence with them, but this was the first time he was truly noticing the details.

The subtle shift in their body language, the way their eyes glimmered with a hidden desire, and the gentle curve of their lips as they smiled at him.

All these things came together to create a feeling of intimacy and closeness that hadn't been there before.

Was it his newfound understanding of his Incubus Bloodline? Was that why he was suddenly so aware of their feminine qualities?

He wasn't sure, but the change was definitely there.

Ethan could feel the weight of their attention, the heat of their gaze, and the soft touch of their hands on his skin.

It was intoxicating.

"So, how are you doing, Ethan?" Evelyn asked, her voice lowering slightly. "Excited to finally awaken your superpower?"

"And maybe even become a Top-Tier user," Everly added, her smile turning playful.

"I'm doing alright, and yes, I am excited, though not really hopeful to become a Top-tier user. It's extremely rare," Ethan said, shaking his head.

He had studied the subject and knew how rare it was for someone to awaken a Top-tier superpower.

In the last two centuries, less than a dozen individuals had been recorded to have a Top-tier supernatural ability, and these people were all considered among the top superpower users of their generation.

"Oh, don't be so negative," Evelyn chided, her lips curving into a teasing grin. "Stranger things have happened."

"Besides, it's not like we're hoping for you to become a Top-tier user," Everly chimed in, her emerald-green eyes twinkling with mischief. "Just so long as you awaken a good power, right?"

"You've been working hard and studying a lot," Evelyn continued, her slender fingers brushing against his arm. "If anyone deserves a powerful superpower, it's you."

Everly nodded, leaning in closer. "And if you're worried about the possibility of not having power, well, I'm sure we can think of something else to help you relax..."

Her voice trailed off, but her meaning was clear. A light blush formed on his cheeks, and he cleared his throat, trying to hide his embarrassment.

"Uh, thank you. But I'm sure I'll be fine," he said, avoiding her gaze.

Evelyn and Everly shared a look, their expressions turning coy.

"Well, we'll just have to see, won't we?" Everly murmured, her tone teasing.

But before Ethan could respond, an irritating voice cut through their conversation.

"Tch. Must be nice having every beautiful girl in the city cling to you like some kind of prince."

Ethan sighed. Here we go again.

Turning to the source of the voice, he came face to face with Lucas Grayson, one of the most envious and self-absorbed guys he had ever met.

Lucas was tall and broad-shouldered and had the typical look of someone who thought they were superior to everyone else. But his biggest issue? He despised Ethan purely out of jealousy.

"What do you want, Lucas?" Ethan asked, already bored.

Lucas sneered, glancing between Ethan and the twins. "Just wondering how you keep tricking all these amazing women into wasting their time on you. What, is it pity? Do they feel bad for you?"

Everly scoffed. "You really never get tired of embarrassing yourself, do you?"

Lucas clenched his jaw, ignoring her. "You think you're something special just because your family is famous?" His eyes narrowed, his voice dripping with mockery.

"News flash, Ethan—you're nothing without them. Let's see how special you are after today. When I awaken my superpower, I'll put you in your place."

Ethan yawned. "Oh, are you still here?"

The room filled with quiet snickers. Lucas's face turned red with anger.

"You—"

But before he could retaliate, an announcement blared over the speakers.

"ATTENTION! THE AWAKENING CEREMONY WILL NOW BEGIN. PLEASE TAKE YOUR DESIGNATED POSITIONS."

Lucas shot Ethan one last glare before stomping off. "Enjoy your luck while it lasts. I'll make sure you regret it."

Ethan simply smiled. "I'm sure you will."

As Lucas walked away, Everly leaned in and whispered, "He really does hate you, huh?"

"Meh, he is all bark and no bite." Ethan said as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Still, better watch out," Evelyn cautioned. "That kind of jealousy can drive people to do stupid things."

"I know. Don't worry, I'll be careful," Ethan assured her.
