Chapter 9 - Evelyn and Everly Moonshade

"Welcome, Lady Nocturne, and your family. We have been expecting you and have begun the formal paperwork for this awakening," she said, handing a piece of paper to Lilith.

Lilith took it with a graceful nod, barely glancing at it before handing it off to Seraphina, who handled these kinds of matters.

Meanwhile, Ethan stood there, looking around the grand hall of the Superpower Awakening Center.

It was sleek, futuristic, and filled with anticipation. The entire place buzzed with activity, everyone eager to awaken their superpowers.

Some people looked nervous, some were excited, and others had just given up on high-level superpowers and hoped to get one that they could use to support a family in the future.

Everyone had different reasons for coming, but the result was always the same—an awakening.

As his gaze swept the crowd, he caught sight of a group of teenagers his age. They all wore luxurious clothes that screamed money, and their confidence and arrogance were obvious.

"Man, I can't wait to find out my superpower. Do you think it will be a high or a top tier one?"

"Of course it will. I'm not like the other plebeians here. With my lineage, it is a given."

"My grandfather says that I should awaken a superpower that can help the family."

Ethan frowned, listening to their arrogant words. These kids were obviously from influential families and were bragging about their supposed superior bloodlines.

They acted like they were better than everyone else, and their disdain for normal people was palpable.

Ethan didn't know whether to feel disgusted or pity them. These kids were living in a fantasy world, thinking that their status would give them whatever they wanted.

But reality was harsher. The world didn't care about bloodlines or lineage. All that mattered was what you could do, not what your parents could do.

Still, it was sad that the environment around them was already shaping these kids, thinking that they were somehow entitled to a rare or even top-level superpower just because they had a powerful lineage.

The truth was, even though their parents and family had rare or powerful abilities, there was no guarantee that their children would inherit the same.

Sometimes, it skipped generations; sometimes, the power was weaker, and sometimes, it was a completely different ability.

Ethan had heard plenty of stories about disappointed families when their kids awakened powers far below their expectations.

He didn't envy these kids. They might have had it easy growing up, but in the end, they would be facing the same realities as everyone else.

Still, there was no point in dwelling on it. Everyone had their own path to walk, and his didn't include trying to fix their messed-up attitudes.

Ethan glanced over at his sisters, who were still talking to the lady at the desk. They were discussing something about the awakening procedure, and Seraphina seemed to be taking the lead.

She was always the most organized and methodical one, preferring to plan ahead and stay on top of things.

Isabella was listening intently, her violet eyes sharp and focused. She had an uncanny ability to pick up details that others missed, and she always made sure she understood the full picture before making any decisions.

Meanwhile, Liliana was staring straight ahead, her scarlet gaze sweeping the hall with a quiet intensity. Her expression was neutral, but there was an unmistakable sense of alertness about her.

Ethan couldn't help but smile. Despite their differences, his sisters were always reliable and protective.

It was one of the many things he loved about them. Even if he didn't understand something, he could always count on them to help him figure it out.

"Ethan," Lilith called.

He turned to see her motioning for him to come over. As he approached, she wrapped an arm around his shoulder, her crimson eyes gleaming with pride.

"We've got everything settled. It's time."

He took a deep breath, his heart beating faster. "Alright."

The others joined him, and together, they walked through the hall, heading toward the back rooms where the awakenings were held.

Along the way, several groups of people stopped to watch them, whispering and pointing as they passed.

Ethan ignored the stares and whispers. He was used to it. It was a side effect of growing up in a family as influential as theirs.

And as he had expected, they were given VIP treatment. Lilith and his sisters were directed to the observation room, a massive enclosed area above the main testing room.

One of its walls was entirely made of reinforced glass, providing a clear view of the awakening process below. From there, they could watch everything unfold without interruption.

Ethan, on the other hand, was led into a separate room with other teenagers, all of them waiting for their turn to awaken their superpower.

The room was buzzing with excitement, nervous chatter filling the air as each person wondered what their ability would be.

Just as he settled in, a familiar voice called out.

"Ethan!"

He turned just in time to see two figures rushing toward him. Twin sisters, both stunningly beautiful, with long, silky platinum blonde hair cascading down their backs, framing their delicate yet mesmerizing faces.

Their piercing emerald-green eyes shimmered like gemstones under the bright lights, exuding a mystical allure.

Their figures were nothing short of breathtaking—tall and graceful with curvaceous yet toned physiques that perfectly balanced elegance and sensuality.

Their full, round breasts, easily E-cups, complemented their slender waists and enticing hips, creating an hourglass shape that only added to their ethereal beauty.

The tight, form-fitting uniforms provided by the center hugged their bodies, accentuating their alluring curves while maintaining a dignified elegance.

The fabric clung to their figures in a way that made it impossible not to notice their exceptional proportions, and yet, despite their overwhelming beauty, they carried themselves with an air of noble refinement that made it clear—they were far from ordinary.

They were Evelyn and Everly Moonshade, his closest friends and people who had spent the most amount of time with him other than Lilith and his sisters.

Dressed in the sleek uniforms provided by the center, they looked elegant as always, their presence immediately drawing attention from others in the room.

Before he could even greet them properly, the system alert chimed in his mind.

As he read the next few lines, his heart nearly stopped.
