A faint ping sounded again from her phone. It was from Zephyr this time.
"Floor plan incoming. Don't get caught. You're too valuable to waste on a misstep."
Shantel couldn't help but smile as she wiped her face dry and reached for the towel. Too valuable indeed.
She slipped the phone out again. Another message from Zeph had arrived.
"Sending floor plan. From where Jack pinpointed you, you're in the last room on the left wing of the house. That puts the service corridor escape closest. Don't even think of the window. There's a steep drop and barbed vines under it. You won't make it if my guess about your current state of health is right."
She exhaled slowly. That matched Jack's earlier tip. The laundry room which was two doors to the right was her best shot.
She quietly opened the door of the bathroom just a crack, peering through it. There was no one in the room so she crept back into the room and grabbed her handbag which was still on the table.
