My next goal is to simply read some historical manuscripts to slowly evolve my Principle.
The best place to learn about history will be in Matalop. But that will come later. First I should go to the local library in Delargen to learn about its history.
With this thought in mind, he went to the local library in Delargen. Delargen is a small city in the south of the Seberden. It used to be part of Coyoran, but after relentless protests, it finally became an independent state.
As Komaru went inside the library, he went in the history section. He picked up a random book and started flipping through the pages.
"The Ancient Tomb of Tremon" was the title of the book. It was written in Grazinese, the local language of Grazin empire. As Komaru started reading, he couldn't help but frown. It was because he did not know about certain terms in the book.
"The Ancient Tomb is located in the city of Tremon. It was first spotted in the year 1471. It is believed that the person who spotted it was a traveler from the Pegarin Empire.
"It is a pyramid-like structure with no entrance or exit. Its surface is made of a strange metal which is given the name 'Bazium'. Even after countless efforts, the government of Grazinas Empire were unsuccessful in breaking open a hole in it.
"The government then sent various Ascended grade agents to try out their Principles, but they still failed. The king of Grazinas Empire, Dubariz Gorbos II, who is one of the 704 Celestial grades in the Human world, personally went there in person and tried to break the Tomb, but even he failed.
"Finally, they requested the other races for help. The number seven ranked, Clara Brenk, who is an elf was called along with some of the lower ranked elves to perform a ritual.
"Clara set up an altar and sacrificed the skull of a Gromelon, a finger of the Dusky Gregon, and 80 ml of Streckor's blood. Then, she chanted the honorific name of Saint Naigi, and then recieved 'His' blessing, which she used to create a small black hole directly on the surface of the Tomb, but even that failed.
"They finally gave up, and started to find possible theories related to the Tomb. Till now, the only clue they have is that the Ancient Tomb was built by the ancient Merchants, who have long perished. After a few years, Melissa, who is a high ranking God with the Principle related to foreseeing the future, recieved a revelation that the Ancient Tomb will be opened by a man who dreams of the future.
"Till now, they have found a lot of people with the ability to foresee the future, but none of them had any clue regarding the Tomb. The tomb has become a great attraction for the tourists. One day, one of the tourists was suddenly sucked inside the Tomb. The government thought that this was their chance, so once again they tried to open the Tomb, but they still failed.
"They investigated the tourist who had disappeared. They found out that his name was Yosuke Daichi, and he came from the Gorsiles Empire. Dubariz Gorbos II contacted the king of Gorsiles Empire, Darwin the 3rd, and tried to find more about Daichi.
"The only information they got was that Daichi was the descendent of the ancient Merchants. This was a huge discovery, as they finally knew how to enter the Tomb. They had to find the descendents of ancient Merchants, and attach on them an Artifact to teleport them outside of the Tomb.
"But to this day, they were not able to find any descendent, so the only thing they could do was to create a special barrier around the Tomb so that accidents like that never happen again."
I can feel a little bit of energy infusing with my Principle. But its only a very small amount. At this rate, it will take me forever to evolve my Principle. Will reading even more ancient history help me boost my progression?
I need to research a bit about certain rituals and certain monsters, because I don't know a lot about such things.
Komaru then picked up another book. This time, the title was "Ancient dieties and their corresponding rituals". The book had a little dust accumulated on it, so Komaru quickly wiped it off using his cloth. The book's cover was made of pure, hard leather. It was also written in Grazinese.
Komaru flipped open the first page. He saw that this book was written by Andrew Lee.
"Every race has a celestial star through which they can gain some amount of energy. For humans, it is the star known as Caribela. It was first discovered by the great scholar Gregory Williams. He tested out every thing to learn more about the star.
"It is believed that an external source had helped Gregory speed up his research and directly find out about the corresponding ritual and the chant for it.
"Just like Caribela, other races have their own celestial star. For the elves, the star is known as Antigost. The corresponding ritual is to draw the symbol of the Yangor Tree and smear the blood of a Forgen Wolf on it. Then closing the eyes, chant the honorific name which is...
"For demons, the star's name is Delagore. The corresponding ritual is to draw the symbol of the Cursed Wanderer, and smear four drops of the sap of Mergim's Leaves on it, then chant the honorific name...
"Finally for Gods, the star's name is Soltherion. The corresponding ritual is to draw the symbol of the Crutanis, and drop seven drops of Baldeer's Wine on it, then chant the honorific name...
"Next is some information related to monsters. The most common monster is Beryaton, which can be found everywhere. It is believed that Beryatons are animals which get Corrupted because of accidentally coming in contact with corrupted energy.
"Their structure is similar to a wolf. They have four legs, and they have no teeth. Their eyes are very large, and their skin is usually grayish. They can spit out poison, which is not very harmful. Atmost, it will only make your body itch.
"They have a relatively weak defense and offense. But their speed is commendable. The best way to kill them is by targetting the green spot near their ankles, which is their weak spot. Once hit, they will immediately die.
"The Beryaton's meat is a popular dish in most of the places in Grazinas. It is very rich in nutrients, and it tastes bitter-sweet.
"Another monster which is very common in most parts of Grazinas is Tookrun. It looks like a small cow. It does not have teeth and tongue. Its skin is charred black and it has a big eye on its forehead.
"Its attack pattern is simple. It condenses some amount of corrupted energy into its skin, peels it off and throws it at its enemies. It sounds dangerous, but its one of the easiest attacks to avoid. This is because it is even slower than a small baby.
"Tookrun's meat is unfortunately not edible. But its skin is used as clothes, book cover, and its skull is used as a sacrifice material in certain rituals. The best way to kill a Tookrun is by attacking behind his ankle, at a dark green spot, which is their weak point."
Komaru closed the book and got up. He suddenly felt hungry.
He decided to go to a shop to buy some noodles. He rummaged through his pockets, only to find two twenty Ryn notes.
Ryn is the primary currency in Grazinas empire. It has denominations of one, five, ten, twenty and fifty. It is made of green paper and has the image of Emperor Trunges printed on it.
One hundred Ryn is equal to a Cinder. Usually, people with five thousand Cinders are considered as well to do families. The upper echelons of the nobles have wealth accumulating to more than 100,000 Cinders.
I am so fucking poor. I have to withdraw money from my bank account. I should have around 150 Cinders. That should be enough to last me for another few months.
With this thought, he went outside the library and went towards the streets.
He found an old man selling some groceries. He decided to buy some of them before buying some noodles.
"Good afternoon, young man." The old man greeted Komaru. He had black eyes and a bald head. There were obvious wrinkles visible on his face.
"Good afternoon. I would like to buy some seepals. How much would it cost?" Komaru asked.
"It will be 30 Ryn per kilogram"
"I would like to buy half."
"Sure." The old man took around 7-8 seepals and weighed them, then gave it to Komaru inside a plastic bag. Komaru paid 15 Ryn to him and went to another shop. There, he bought two packets of Pognan noodles, which cost him another 20 Ryn.
Then, he decided to go back to his home.
