About half an hour later, she succeeded.
Emily looked up at the alarm clock and it was almost eleven o'clock. She picked up her phone and dialed Quinn's number.
Propaganda always needed accomplices to promote it! At this time, she instinctively thought of Quinn.
"Hello, Emily." It was Lucas who answered the phone.
If Quinn's name hadn't appeared on the phone screen, she would have thought she had dialed the wrong number. It meant Quinn must not have gotten up yet.
"OMG! Could it be that you two have been making love till this morning?" Emily laughed jokingly at them.
Lucas didn't comment, just laughed and skipped the topic, saying, "By the way, what happened to the Instagram post today? Are you okay?"
Emily went home last night and rested, and didn't have time to go online.
This morning, when she turned on her laptop, she found that the screen was full of overwhelming news about her and James Lindemann of Aurora Media.
After reading it carefully, she found out that the blogger of the article was actually her.
"It's nothing. The managers of that company are pimps. I just happened to run into them, so I have to do something about them!" Emily continued over the phone, "Lucas, you know you still haven't thanked me yet. If it weren't for my persuasion, your girlfriend would have really fallen into their trap."
Lucas smiled and said, "No problem, tell me how I can thank you!"
"Forget about offering your body to me. I don't have interest stealing my best friend's boyfriend. A nice gift will do." Back to the point, Emily continued in a serious tone, "Speaking of which, I really need your help."
"Since you called in person, it must be very important then." Lucas said with a smile.
"Yes, and it's about the livelihood of my family." Without further ado, she explained briefly. "I want you to mobilize all your former classmates and friends to help me distribute flyers at noon tomorrow. Then, you don't need to buy me gift anymore."
Lucas didn't ask any further questions and simply agreed cheerfully. "Okay, no problem, I'll contact them in a moment."
"Thank you. You guys can continue with what you were doing. You know...., I won't bother you anymore." Emily said with a sly smile and hung up the phone.
"This girl!" Lucas shook his head in amusement on the other end of the phone.
After she hung up the phone with Lucas, a strange number called her mobile phone.
No matter whether it was Aurora Media or any other news media, she had no scruples with them. She pressed the answer button to connect the call, "Hello..."
"Is that Emily Sanders? I'm Wayne Douglas, friend of Jasper. We met at the Hotel & Restaurant last night. I wonder if you still remember me, Miss Sanders?"
Emily was a little surprised. Why would he call her? They weren't that close, were they?
"Mr. Douglas, of course I remember you. Thanks to you for helping me out last night." Emily said with a smiley tone on the phone.
"My pleasure. Hm, I'm just thinking maybe you have time now? We'll like you to come down to the station. We need your statements regarding the investigation of Aurora Media." Wayne explained on the phone.
So fast! The cops have already started investigating? She knew that this must be the result of Jasper's instigation.
Emily nodded and said, "No problem, I'll come over now."
"Okay, see you soon." Wayne said politely, and hung up the phone.
Damn. Aurora Media was in for a rude awakening.
Emily quickly packed up, grabbed her bag and went out.
Twenty minutes later, she appeared in the lobby of Madison Police Station.
When a staff member saw her coming in, he stood up and greeted her, "Excuse me, is there anything I can help you with?"
"Oh, I'm looking for Wayne Douglas. He just called me and asked me to come over." She said casually.
The man looked her up and down with a strange look in his eyes.
"Are you looking for Chief Douglas? Please wait, I'll make a call." The female police officer in uniform, said.
Police chief Wayne? Emily was a little surprised. Small world, wasn't it? Wayne Douglas was the director of the Madison Police Station?
No wonder James Lindemann and his people's faces changed when they saw Wayne last night.
Good lord, she was so lucky, she was surrounded by great people. It was really good to know powerful people.
The young female police officer came back soon after finishing her call and said to me with a smile, "Miss Sanders, Director Wayne asked me to bring you to his office."
Damn it, what kind of smile was this female officer giving? Did she think her, Emily Sanders, was here for some unscrupulous business? Emily couldn't stand the weird smile on the female police officer's face.
Soon, the female police officer took her to Wayne's office. Outside the door, she raised her hand and knocked on the door, and waited until she heard a response from inside before pushing the door open and going in.
"Captain Wayne, Miss Sanders is here." The female police officer said respectfully.
Wayne raised his head from a pile of documents, and when he saw Emily come in, he quickly stood up from his chair and walked around the desk towards her.
"Welcome, Miss Sanders, please sit down."
"Thank you, Mr. Douglas." Emily replied. Maybe he thought she was Jasper's girlfriend, so he was very enthusiastic towards her.
But this seemed to confirm the female police officer's initial guess, as if there was something going on between Wayne and her.
Look at her eyeballs, they were about to fall to the ground.
"Thank you, Yolanda. You can leave now." Wayne glanced at the female police officer and said.
The female police officer nodded, looked at Emily twice, and then left the office.
"I never thought that Mr. Clarkson would have a police chief as a friend." Emily sat down on the sofa, looked at Wayne, and said with a smile.
Before coming here, she never imagined that Wayne, at such a young age, had already become the director of the Madison Police Station.
"Haha... sorry about that." Wayne sat down on the sofa opposite her, looking businesslike, and said, "Let's talk about Aurora Media first."
"Okay." Emily nodded and explained in as much detail as possible what she knew and what happened around her.
Afterwards, Wayne sent her out and said that he would definitely give her a satisfactory answer.
As if to further promote the relationship between her and Jasper, Wayne looked at her and said with a smile, "Miss Sanders, to tell you the truth, Jasper asked me to investigate this matter. I can see that he is still very concerned about your affairs. I don't know why, but he repeatedly asked me not to tell you. To be honest with you, he is a very good guy. I have been with him for so long, and I have never seen him care so much about any woman like yourself. You should give him a thought."
Oh, okay. Wayne turned out to be Jasper's secret help.
Emily shrugged her shoulders helplessly, not bringing up the topic again, and said with a smile, "Thank you, !really. Douglas. Bye for now."
Helping your friend out. You were a good friend indeed.
