When Emily came out of Wayne's office and passed through the hall, she overheard some officers talking in private.
"Tell me, is that woman our chief's girlfriend?"
"I think so. You didn't see it. Oh, he was more than friendly to her just now." The speaker was the young female police officer who had just taken her to Wayne's office.
"He's got good eyes, you know."
"No doubt. What's more? The deputy director of the Public Security Bureau is Chief Douglas' father. I guess this woman must also come from a powerful family."
"Yes, I mean, look at her. She must be of high status."
High status? Yea, right. Emily smiled softly, lifted her long, beautiful black hair, and walked past them confidently.
No one could resist her girly charm.
After leaving the police station, she hailed a cab and went home.
Before her mother went out in the morning, she had already prepared the ingredients for lunch for her. She just had to microwave it for a few minutes and she could eat them.
So, in a short while, lunch was ready.
In the room, she was eating lunch while following the updates on Instagram.
In such a short period of time, the number of reposts on Instagram had reached nearly 100,000. As a result, the dark side of Aurora Media had gradually surfaced and been exposed.
Even if she was just a spark that could start a prairie fire, James Lindemann was completely undone by her this time. She could even imagine his face, twisted in anger and frustration. He must be going crazy right now.
Emily was secretly proud of herself. Exactly what he deserved.
Before this, she wonder how many female compatriots were harmed by him?
In the afternoon, she went to the printing company. She had an appointment with Lucas and some friends to distribute flyers tomorrow. She just used this time to make more copies of the planned flyers.
There was a printing company not far from her neighborhood. The owner of the company also lives nearby and they live in the same neighborhood, so they have been neighbors for many years.
When he heard that she wanted to photocopy flyers, he started working without saying a word.
After looking at the photocopied flyer, he shook his head and said. "Emily, this is for your restaurant, isn't it? But is this really feasible? Looking at all the free stuffs you mentioned, is there such a thing?"
It was understandable that they thought this way as food delivery services have not yet been recognized by the general public in this country side. But she needed to seize this market first so that she wouldn't have to worry about profits in the future.
Emily laughed and answered, "How can I know if there is a way out if I don't try?"
Although the boss couldn't accept this kind of publicity, he didn't want to undermine her self-confidence, so he smiled and nodded, saying, "Yes, young people should dare to innovate!"
While they were chatting, the flyers had been photocopied. Emily said her goodbyes to the man and went home with a thick stack of flyers.
She had just opened the door and returned home, but before she could even put down the flyer in her hand, the cell phone in her pocket started ringing.
Well, pretty girls were always popular. She was becoming narcissistic again.
After placing a thick stack of flyers on the coffee table in the living room, she freed one hand to take out her mobile phone from her pocket.
On the screen, Sebastian's name kept jumping and flashing.
Emily smiled coldly and pressed the answer button. "Hey Sebastian, I am so honored that you took time out of your busy schedule to call me again today. How can I help you?"
Although she didn't really like Sebastian, from the moment she answered the phone, her voice naturally became sweet and unpredictable.
When facing such a scumbag, one naturally could not show joy or anger.
"Haha, Emily, you are really good at talking! It's my honor to chat with such a school beauty like yourself!" Sebastian said with a smile.
Emily just felt sick in her stomach. How could these words sound so disgusting coming from the mouth of a scumbag like that?
"Thank you, Sebastian. So, what's the matter with you calling me today?" She asked this, but she already knew the answer in her heart.
This guy called her yesterday and asked her to attend the dinner hosted by Wayne. Not Wayne the police chief, but Wayne Grisham, Sebastian's friend. It must be about this.
"It's about what we discussed yesterday, about Wayne's dinner party. I just don't know if you'll be willing to do him the honor!" Sebastian said bluntly.
Emily hesitated for a moment, then agreed, "Okay, no problem, I'll be there, on TIME."
Since they were so sincere and had called her again and again to invite her, wouldn't it be too disrespectful to them if she didn't go?
She sneered in her heart. She really wanted to see what they were up to.
Sebastian was happy to see that she agreed, and said with a smile, "Okay, Emily. I will come around to pick you up in the evening."
"Okay." Emily hated forcing others to do things for her. But since Sebastian was willing to be a driver, then she would let him be.
Dinner was scheduled for eight o'clock.
She looked at the time and there were still about two hours left.
Since she was attending a dinner party, she had to appear elegant and graceful. In front of outsiders, she always show her exquisite appearance.
She went to the bathroom to take a shower first, then changed into a white dress, and finally put on beautiful makeup.
Looking at herself in the mirror, the long dress wraps around my body perfectly, and the wavy hem highlights her playfulness.
She gathered her long hair that was scattered on her back with her hands and tied it into a beautiful bun at the back of her head. The top of her hair was fluffy, which looked quite charming.
Get yourself ready, you have less than forty minutes before the dinner starts.
She was about to turn on her computer to check the status of her Instagram account when a phone call came in.
"Hey, girl, what have you been doing all day? You couldn't even take a break from it. You and Lucas are on fire. You go girl." Emily said jokingly.
"You've gone totally crazy, Emily. What happened to you?" Quinn blushed and said, "By the way, I heard Lucas said he's going to hand out flyers tomorrow. What's going on?"
"We are promoting my parents' restaurant." Emily said with a smile, "You're volunteering too. Don't worry, I'll treat you well."
"Silly girl, I'm always available for you." Quinn seemed to have remembered something and continued."By the way, I read your Instagram post today. How come you didn't tell me about such a big thing? What if something had happened to you? I never thought that the CEO of Aurora Media could be such a person. Now that I think about it, I realized how scary that experience could be. Well, thank God I was not accepted at that time."
