Augustine let out a long sigh, tilting his head back to stare at the ceiling as he struggled not to lose his patience.
"It's already begun," he muttered. "No idea what kind of trouble she'll cause tonight."
His fingers absentmindedly brushed his neck as he recalled how she had bitten him when she was drunk last time. That sting seemed to linger even now.
"You really are a handful," he grumbled, glancing down at her flushed face. "Why did you get drunk?"
Anne giggled, waving her hand carelessly. "Because I'm happy."
She gestured animatedly toward the side, swaying slightly as she did. "That Denis… he is so full of himself. He walks around like he owns the world, like everything revolves around him." Her lips curled into a mischievous smirk. "But the best part is, he is an absolute fool."
Augustine raised a brow, intrigued.
Anne suddenly motioned for him to come closer, her eyes twinkling with mischief. Curious, he leaned in.
