Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Pregnant.

∘˚°。☆*.✧∘˚°。✩Pregnant.

The sun scattered its warm golden rays in the bright blue sky, its stray rays slipping through the white curtains of White Stone Hotel, room 217 landing on the delicate face of Mariam Percey. Her brows knitted as a complaining groan escaped her lips.

Feeling uncomfortable with the rays reflecting on her face, her body voluntarily moved to face the slightly darker part of the room. Now that feels more comfortable.

A raw smell hit her nose, an irritating feeling that made her feel like puking overwhelmed her. There was a sudden push up in her belly. Her calm and gentle demeanor distorted as her cool expression flickered to a disgusted one.

The pressure increased, the feeling was uncontrollable. Her eyes grew wide at the force at which the undigested food rushed to her throat leaving a sour taste on her taste bud.

Without hesitation, she jolted out of the bed, swinging the duvet as she rushed to the toilet. Opening the lid of the WC, she knelt before it, her palm playing its way to her usually flat but now compressed belly.

A feeling of relief washed all over like a cool breeze as she let it all out. Washing the sour taste off her mouth, she raised her face and walked out of the restroom. A heavy sigh escaped her pink lips.

Her stomach felt light weighed as her breath became slightly heavy. She walked towards the lamp table, grabbed her purse and unzipped it. She searched it roughly and picked the test strip from it, flinging the bag aside.

The toilet door creaked open after minutes and Mariam walked out not bothering to shut the door behind her. The strip indicated double pink, she was pregnant. Her chocolate eyes studied the strip carefully as she forced her lips closed.

Picking up her phone, she searched through the Internet what the pink meant, she knew what it meant but a confirmation would be better.

Her lips quivered slightly as she read it, with narrowed eyes she tried remembering that night but she couldn't, all she could remember was Henry's face when she woke up. Was she happy or sad? She didn't know that either but one thing was for sure, she was excited to tell Henry.

A small smile broke on her fragile lips as she thought of Henry, her fingers gripped the strip tight. Just like a summer season with blooming trees, her mood bloomed. Her happiness was clear now, hindering the thoughts of consequences that ought to follow

Mariam Percey, one of country A list top fashion designer and model, a light skinned beauty with curly let black hair dropping to her waist, tall and slender with a perfect figure 8 shape.

She was excited to share the news with her boyfriend, Henry Williams but, thinking of it now; it could affect her career.

But also, thinking from the positive view feels more pleasing to the heart. It would be a double win if she wins the Golden Award for the best model this year. Henry would also be happy to hear the news of their intimacy.

Thinking further, she'll introduce him properly to her parents and siblings, get engaged then fix a marriage date. With this, the child won't be a problem, right?

The award was tonight and it would be a grand one. She's planning on attending wearing one of her newly made designs. It's just sad that Henry won't be attending the event with her, he's a busy man and has a scheduled meeting for the evening which will probably last till night.

Sitting on the couch cross legged. She ordered some food for breakfast to eat before making a call to her manager, Naomi Bills to set everything needed for tonight. After dropping the call with Naomi, Thessa's phone call entered.

"Hey"

"Where the hell are you! You didn't return home last night after your flight landed, I've been so worried about you. Not even a call!" Thessa complained bitterly.

Mariam couldn't help but sigh. "I'm sorry, I was so tired I decided to branch out at a hotel to spend the night. I'll be back home soon, okay?" Her tone was laced with deep apology.

"I'll be home expecting you." Thessa eplied, with that the phone call was put to an end.

She dropped the phone and searched through her luggage to pick a suitable and comfortable set of clothes before hopping into the bath. After she was done, she changed into a sunny yellow jumpsuit with matching heels. Put on a little make up then fixed on her big black spec with golden edges.

No one would easily recognize her, by the time they would, she would have been gone. There was a ringing sound at the door, she hurried and opened it, collecting her food from the delivery man.

Setting it on the table, she unpacked it, ready to eat. She didn't order any food that would trigger her irritation and if she had known this would too she wouldn't have ordered food with oil. The oily smell made her feel that familiar pressure again. Packing it back she tossed it into the bin and went out of the room.

Immediately she stepped out of the hotel and got to the basement, Mr Austin, her professional chauffeur, opened the booth and fixed her things before heading to Grey Rose Estate.

The gates to the estate opened after the security confirmed their information and the chauffeur drove directly to the mansion.

"Did you send for all those stuffs in the house." Thessa asked immediately when Mariam got out of the car.

"Yep." She replied, giving her bestie a side hug. They both strode towards the house.

"It's so amazing. Your new releases are top notch, since there are three of them, I'll help you to select! I'm looking forward to you getting the award this time, again." Thessa beamed brightly.

Two years ago, Mariam Percey had received the Golden Award for the year's top 1 best model and bronze Award for the third best Fashion designer. That was a good start for a beginner like her. But last year was a different story, Maybel Storms received the award.

It is so clear to the world that the two are bloody rivals.

"As long as you make a perfect choice. Other than that, I can't promise." She couldn't just risk the opportunity, it was a great night after all.

Thessa grunted and said annoyingly. "Do you think I have a bad fashion sense?"

"I never said that ," she proved her innocence immediately to clear any misunderstanding although her expression said otherwise. Thessa nodded knowing that was exactly what she meant.
