Chapter 8 - Chapter Eight

Days passed blissfully with some few other alphas who meant no significance to their pack and the parley for the throne went back to take care of theirs. The only people remaining were most of the richest people in thalvion who had sons taking care of the pack or capable beta to handle it while they are away.

Some of the few alphas remaining were inside Beta Magnus's pocket which was a hard thing for evelynne when she encountered two amongst them inside the pack house. A woman being an alpha—an equal like them was an abomination to them. It irked them.

Today she wanted to leave for one of the places where she always go to think apart from her room, Betty was unaware of that place in thalvion. No one knew, she knew that if they caught the whiff of it, it would certainly turn into a tourist center and the money earned from it would be used for partying more and more.

While she trekked down the pack compound to the gate she didn't want to use her horse or turn into her wolf which would leave her naked to the eyes afterward but walked and stumbled upon the two alphas. She had seen them from afar and had planned to avoid him but as usual the stray dogs always bark.

"It's a pity she was taught no manners" alpha Marcus of the direwolf pack whispered coherent enough to another alpha who walked beside him "such a rude child" he sneered. Evelynne clenched her fists, it was acceptable when they talked behind her back but talking just right in front of her was inappropriate.

They were elders, everyone says that however they shouldn't let her rebuff them. It won't be good, with that she walked away and this made the two alphas turn their head watching her walking away before they turned to each and smiled.

Evelynne walked out of the pack house using a secret route which was in no use and had turned rusty but she cleared it for her own use. This route leads to the woods at the back of the pack house which no one ventured into but she loved and went there.

Trekking her way inside, birds chirping and rays of sun shining through the canopies of trees. She squinted her eyes as she gazed up to the sky and the sun strayed in. "What a day" she murmured.

While she walked to her destination where she encountered no wild animals today, all thanks until she came across a dried bon fire. Looking it at, it was freshly quenched off, someone was here she thought glancing around her.

A harsh wind blew past her by her left and she immediately turned her head but another creak by her right caught her attention and she stepped back a little looking sideways before going back after again ready to scream but she stopped in her tracks turning back.

How will she run when she wa fighting for the seat of the alpha? This may be those geezers trying to do some tricky things or ploy to test her abilities as someone wanting the seat and not showing themselves.

"Who is there?" She yelled, they might as well come out. "You don't have to be a coward and show yourself. We can go this head on without beating around the bush, got no time for that" she cracked her knuckles. Ready to launch at the person or beast firstly with her knuckles before maybe turning into her wolf form.

Turning into your wolf at just a little a thing was a sigh of weakness in their pack which she won't fall for. Her eyes followed the sharp movements of air which was so fast, like the person was damn controlling the wind.

"You don't have to be a coward and show yourself" she reiterated walking looking everywhere around her however she didn't see the small branch that was on the ground and almost tripped, her hands flailing in the air but before her bum could kiss the ground a strong arm caught her and her closed eyes widened. She had closed her eyes to receive the pain gracefully but now?

She scrambled away from the person's hold, her gown almost making her trip again but she held it with her two hands going back to see who it was and it was him?.
