The noise of Betty in her room and the sun streaming through the curtain was a sign it was morning. Squinting her eyes and pressing her face into the bed, she moaned grumbling incoherent words.
"Morning to the brightest creature close to the sun" Betty pulled the bed sheets away from her body and she pressed into the pillow and bed more. "You know this wouldn't be possible when you become the alpha. Do you?"
Hearing the word alpha had Evelynne raising her head,grousing "I'm not yet the alpha Beth until then" she pressed her head back into the bed "allow me to sleep"
"I don't think that will be happening"Betty got into the bathroom running the bath and returning "there was an attack on one of the packs we handle" with this evelynne sat up from the bed into a sitting position.
"And?"
"It was gruesome." Betty scrunched her face "more like a massacre of innocent people" she went into the closet pulling out a dress and returning back.
Evelynne got down from down from the bed, a massacre wasn't something that would be evaded. It would be talked about. Thalvion realm had never had a massacre by one of their fellow packs unless it was…
"Who did it?" She followed after Betty who went into the bathroom to stop the bath. "A fellow pack can do such a thing unless they are—"
"Vampires? Yes. It was vampires that made the attack. You know I haven't seen a vampire before, they never come out in the day more like in the night"
In the night…
"Not everyone is as blind as you think at night" evelynne remembered the words she heard from the stranger the night before. It wasn't a dream or was it. She ran to her dresser to the vanity mirror and there were bruises on her body.
It was real. He was real. Everything was real. She raced down to the bathroom urging Betty to get her ready which she did. She got dressed before heading to the pack dining area. Probably some few people would still be eating, more like it was early. Her eyes went to Rowan walking into the dining area.
Thanks to Betty. The guard opened the door and she stepped inside. Raising her head up high she sauntered inside not looking at anyone's face or into anyone's eyes.
She sat down at the left side of beta Magnus, all eyes turned to her. She was the only woman in the hall. Not because of their women not coming to eat with them but because they were stopped from coming.
She knew why. They wanted to discuss not just the massacre but more about the sit without her. Yeah, they have every right to do so. She never ate in the dining area when her father was alive. She ate in her room where no one was going to talk to her.
This was the first time in years she was here. She smiled and said softly "morning to you too" while a maid put food into her plate.
The breakfast went calmer than expected. Some few people left and the important people remained. Everyone waited on who would lead a discussion and what was happening and lead them out from the dining area.
Evelynne stood up, her chair moving back drawing attention to her as she glared into each one of their eyes "since no one wanted to talk about the massacre that will lead the pack into a possible battle with whosoever did and the people into their early death. I think it needs to be discussed appropriately" her eyes went to beta Magnus and alpha Damon of the mystic howl pack.
"The pack hall, I think would be good for such a discussion right Rowan?" She nodded her head towards Rowan. This may be the first time she was using his name but she needed it right now. He had made a pact with her to help her in times she needed it and this was the beginning of it. Rowan acquiesced to her and stretched his hand towards the part of the hall not too close to the dining area.
They arrived and everyone had their seat, Beta Magnus cleared his thrust before saying "As we all know, which I know must have spread by now in the pack both far and wide about the one of the packs we handle being ambushed and massacred. Such a matter would have been taken care of with immediate effect if there was an alpha"his eyes found evelynne and he scowled.
Evelynne dryly chuckled "if really you had let things go the way it's something to go, we wouldn't have been here but finding a reliable and stable solution on how to tackle this matter yet you—"
"What would you have done if you were the alpha? What decision could a little girl like you make on such a large pack? What can you do being a woman deciding for one of the biggest packs in thalvion. Such a bitch" he whispered however everyone heard it.
Evelynne fisted her hands, possibly drawing blood. She stood walking to stand in front of everyone. Beta Magnus sighed loudly for everyone to hear and she smiled smugly at him "what would an old man. Who would find his death soon" she shrugged her shoulders "he is almost the same age as my dad and—"
"You father died due to a disease"
"And who knows what you might die of" she glared at Beta Magnus raising her hand up in the air as her claws grew out from her hand. She stood in front of him "murder, poisoning or ever suicide.
There are many ways to kill stubborn people like you in thalvion you know. I could" she flicked her thumb and he shrunk back she guffawed as everyone gaped at her.
"Enough with the threats evelynne. It's an atrocity to threaten the possible alpha of the Astral blood pack." Alpha Damon stood up from his seat seething "you can't just stand up and threaten him. Us. You are a woman evelynne stick to that and allow him to find a man for you to get married to"
"And if I don't want"
"Then I think you'll have to shown the right way which I think you've lost"
Evelynne stepped back gnawing at the edges of her gloves ready to pull it out. "Is that you threatening me Alpha Damon?"
