Chapter 11 - Chapter Eleven

Evelynne hung her head down while she walked down the lane at the back of the pack house. She needed to think and although the last time she couldn't, doesn't mean she can't. After Betty left her for the night she decided to come here praying she doesn't meet that man like the last time.

The darkness surrounding was blinding but she held a small candelabra to see through her path, her hand holding the side so the cool night breeze wouldn't blow it away.

Her blonde hair flowed in the air as she walked, cricket's sounds and a deep night silent echoed as she moved further into the woods far away from the pack house.

She looked around and there was no sign of anybody giving her that feeling of relief and…also trepidation. It was such a dark, pitch black night that she looked up to the sky for any signs of the moon but none.

She arrived at her destination and dropped the candelabra on the plush ground and smiled at the sight in front of her. It was a hill. She ran slowly to the edge of the hill and sat down on it, her leg dangling from the top.

The smell of fresh water wafted through her nose and she inhaled it, the smile on her face broadening so wild that she knew her cheek was going to hurt. The sound of flowing water drew her attention to the flowing waterfall from the other side of the hill.

She loved this view with everything inside of her, since the day she had found out about it, she had never stopped coming here everyday. To meditate, think and sometimes cry out her emotions since there was no one to cry to.

Betty has feelings and obligations to do so she limited what she told Betty and suffered it alone like now. Tears filled her eyes as she wondered if her mom were alive, what would have been of her?

Would her father be the way he was before his death? She had heard from people in the pack of how her father was madly in love with her mom and her death struck a chord on him. It was like a switch was broken and turned off all his emotions. He hated women and used them, never to fall in love.

"I wish you were with me mom" she cried as more tears flowed from her eyes. She stood up and glared up to the sky, fighting for the throne had put many of her feelings into condemnation, she stepped back with her eyes closed, opening it to her dress on the floor.

A white coloured wolf with streaks of brown on it could be seen, the wolf sprinted towards the woods leaving her clothes. Running through the woods with speed like it was after a prey, it broke every single branch on its way.

The wolf ran for what felt like hours before falling down on a trail that led to a small stream. Blood streaks on the body, wolves don't see at night, Evelynne moaned in pain.

She had only wanted to find relief, going out from her comfort zones and here she was. She crawled to the stream before turning into her normal form. Definitely, wounds and scratches were on her body.

She submerged under the water which turned out to be so cool, she exhaled, washing away the bloods on her skin. Whilst she bathed, she heard sounds from the woods. A twig or stick breaking.

She rushed out and turned to her wolf, she needed to go back and collect back her dress and the candelabra before going. As much as she wanted to fight whoever it was, she doesn't have the strength for that.

Approaching the hill she felt like someone was watching her. She ran so fast and turned to her human form on reaching her dress to change into it but the sounds of footsteps stopped her movements and she turned to the foot, staring up to his waist? Chest and his face.

"Argh" she shrieked, quickly putting on her dress. This was a simple dress, not many layers or corset to tie up. "How dare you?" She yelled into the night.

The man stood stoic as he glared intently while she put on her dress before marching towards him in big strides. Standing in front of him with little space between them Evelynne said into his face "you can't just barge into a naked woman. Don't you have some manners and what are you doing at the back of the pack house?" It was him again from the other night and the man from the festival. Was he following her?

Silence. The man said nothing, leaving evelynne marching forward towards him gritting her teeth. "Who are you? And what are you doing here?. Don't tell you are a tourist, at least not here" she stepped back wanting to leave but the man held her arm.

Her eyes went from the hand with veins and slight hairs pricking out to her arm up to his face. She felt…somehow not like the way when Ronan held her arm.

"What?" She whispered and he leaned down also whispering to her ear, her eyes closing momentarily with the closure of his body ok hers. "You should be more careful with how you expose your body at night. Not everyone is as blind as you think at night." He stepped back, his lips grazing the shell of her ear, sending shivers down her spine as he gave her space.

She breathed out and tried staring at his face but the candles on the candelabra had turned off long ago. She couldn't remember his face clearly from that day in the festival or from the time he saved her from falling on her butt.

She was frustrated and distracted from her hair tie and didn't pay much attention, taking him as a normal creep from the way he had stared at her then even that day and now.

But tonight she was desperate to see his face and his soft lips that had touched her ear.
