Chapter 45 - Chapter 5 : Double Boost!

As I watched the heroes depart for their next mission, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The Crimson Forest, a place of dark magic and ancient secrets, was no place for mortals. And yet, I knew that they had to go there, for the fate of the realm depended on it.

As the Guild Master, it was my duty to wish them luck, no matter how slim their chances of success might be. "May the gods be with you," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "You are heading into the domain of the Demon King of Carnage, Aamon. May your swords stay sharp and your wits stay sharper."

I knew that they were brave, but I also knew that bravery was not enough to guarantee their survival. The forces of darkness that lurked in the Crimson Forest were powerful and relentless, and even the bravest of warriors could fall prey to their machinations.

Still, I had faith in them. They had proven themselves time and again, and I had no doubt that they would do everything in their power to succeed. "May you return victorious," I said, my voice filled with conviction. "May you bring light to the darkness and hope to the despairing."

And then, my eyes fell upon Kieth and Josh, two of the heroes who had already made a name for themselves in the realm. "I know you will come back alive, you two," I said, a hint of a smile on my face. "You're two of the heroes, after all. Your destiny is to bring balance to the realm, and I have no doubt that you will succeed."

But I also knew that their mission was not without its risks. The ceasefire agreement between the realm and the demons was fragile, and any misstep could lead to catastrophe. "Avoid contact with any demons," I warned them. "We can't afford to compromise the ceasefire agreement. Your mission is to find the missing persons, specifically the noble's daughter, and head back. Do not engage with the demons unless absolutely necessary."

With that, I bid them farewell. Kieth summoned a metallic carriage, a sight that left me astonished. Maybe the gods had chosen him for a reason. Maybe I had been too worried for them. Maybe they could really defeat the demon army someday.

I watched as they disappeared into the trees, my heart filled with a mix of hope and trepidation. I could only hope that they would return, and that they would bring with them the news of their triumph over the forces of darkness.

Chapter 5 : Double Boost!

Meanwhile, at a far distance, the Crimson Peak loomed ominously, its dark silhouette a stark contrast to the sun-drenched town below. The Demon King of Carnage, Aamon, stepped down from the hillside, his piercing gaze scanning the nearby town. His presence was met with an unsettling silence, as if the very air itself was wary of his arrival.

Aamon's eyes narrowed as he surveyed the demon troops stationed around the town. They were a mix of seasoned veterans and newer recruits, all bearing the mark of his dark magic. He could sense their unease, their fear of his wrath.

One of his demon generals, the imposing and battle-hardened Vorgath, approached him. Vorgath was a towering figure with razor-sharp horns and a scar above his left eyebrow, earned in a battle against a rival demon clan. "My lord, we have not been expecting you. Is there a reason for your visit?"

Aamon's expression remained unreadable. "I merely wished to inspect my troops. Ensure that they are prepared for battle."

Vorgath nodded, his eyes flicking to the side as he gestured for Aamon to follow him. "Of course, my lord. I will show you to our training grounds."

As Aamon followed Vorgath, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. His army was strong, and with their power, he would soon conquer the entire realm.

After inspecting the troops, Aamon turned to Vorgath. "You have done well, Vorgath. I will return to my castle now. Continue to train and prepare our forces. The time for war is near."

With that, Aamon vanished into the shadows, leaving Vorgath to breathe a sigh of relief. The Demon King of Carnage had come and gone, but his presence would not soon be forgotten.

Vorgath's expression turned grave as the foot soldier's words hung in the air. "A demon bandit, you say? Capturing humans and nobles?" He clenched his fists, his mind racing with the implications. The ceasefire agreement between the demons and humans was fragile, and this could be the spark that ignited a new wave of violence.

The foot soldier nodded, his eyes cast downward. "Yes, sir. And if the Demon King of Carnage finds out, he'll...he'll kill them all."

Vorgath's jaw tightened. He knew what he had to do. "I'll take care of this personally. I'll free the captives and make sure the demon bandit pays for his actions."

He turned to leave, but the foot soldier's voice stopped him. "Sir, be careful. The humans will likely send a rescue party, and...

Vorgath nodded curtly. "I'll be ready. I'll make sure to free the captives before the humans arrive. And I'll make sure the Demon King of Carnage never finds out."

With that, he set off, determined to right the wrong and protect the innocent, all while keeping his actions hidden from the prying eyes of the Demon King. Meanwhile back to Kieth and the others. As they rode the military jeep, the trees grew taller and the air thickened with an eerie silence, signaling our entry into the Crimson Forest. The trees seemed to close in around them, casting long, ominous shadows on the ground.

"I don't like this," one of them said, their voice barely above a whisper. "The forest feels... off."

The others nodded in agreement, their eyes scanning the surroundings with a mix of caution and unease. The trees seemed taller, the underbrush thicker, and the very atmosphere seemed to vibrate with an otherworldly energy.

"Which way do you think the captives are being held?" someone asked, their voice laced with concern.

The group exchanged worried glances, their usual confidence wavering in the face of this strange and foreboding landscape. They had been tasked with a mission, but the changing scenery was making it harder to focus.

"We need to find them before it's too late," one of them said, their voice firm with determination.

But as we ventured deeper into the forest, the silence seemed to grow thicker, the shadows deepening into dark, twisted shapes that seemed to move of their own accord.

The group couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched, that the very forest itself was waiting for them to make a wrong move. We brought the military jeep to a stop, and Sir Aleric signaled for us to exit the vehicle. "We can't afford to get noticed by the noise," he whispered, his eyes scanning the surrounding trees.

We quickly disembarked from the jeep, our footsteps quiet on the forest floor. Sir Aleric gestured for us to gather around him.

"We'll set up camp here," he said, his voice low. "We'll need to be quiet and keep a low profile. We don't know what kind of patrols or scouts the enemy might have in the area."

We nodded, our eyes scanning the surroundings as we began to set up camp. The silence of the forest was oppressive, and we knew that we had to be careful to avoid detection. As we finished setting up camp, Sir Aleric turned to me with a serious expression. "Kieth, we need to get rid of the jeep. We can't risk being detected by the enemy."

I nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. I focused my energy, and with a burst of magic, the military jeep began to dissipate into nothingness.

The others watched in awe as the vehicle disappeared, leaving behind only a faint trail of magical energy. "That should keep us hidden," I said, turning to the others.

Sir Aleric nodded, his eyes scanning the surroundings once more. "Good work, Kieth. Now, let's focus on finding those captives."

As we starting the fire we're all stop because of the sudden noise. We exchanged cautious glances, our senses on high alert. The sound was faint, but it could be a clue to the captives' whereabouts.

Sir Aleric nodded, his hand on the hilt of his sword. "Let's move in quietly. We don't know what we're up against."

We crept forward, our footsteps silent on the forest floor. The burble grew louder, and we caught sight of a small clearing up ahead.

As we entered the clearing, we saw a small stream running through the center, its crystal-clear waters reflecting the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees. But what caught our attention was the small, makeshift hut on the far side of the clearing.

It was a crude structure, cobbled together from branches and leaves, but it looked sturdy enough. And coming from within the hut was a faint sound of voices, muffled but unmistakable.

We exchanged tense glances, our hearts racing with excitement and trepidation. We had found something. But what?

"Notice! There are two energy signatures detected" echoed in my mind, the annoyingly cheerful tone of my AI assistant, Metatron, piercing through my thoughts like a rusty needle. I winced, my eyes scanning the surroundings as I relayed the info to the others.

"Two energy signatures nearby. Let's be ready." The others nodded, their faces tense with anticipation, as we fanned out, senses on high alert, scanning for any sign of danger.

"Notice! Player is not exactly sprinting," Metatron chimed in, its voice a monotone whisper in my ear. I shot it a mental glare, but it just kept going.

"Current pace: 2.5 kilometers per hour. Recommendation: increase speed to avoid detection." I sighed, trying to tune it out. "Fuck of" Kieth shrug.

As they walk slowly lyra notice two floating balls of light and said." It's an imp!"

"Imp what? Kieth asked eyebrow rise.

Affirmative! The imp is a small, sprite-like creature with a body composed of a glowing, energy-infused ball. It has a mesmerizing, ethereal appearance, with tiny, delicate wings and tendrils of energy that allow it to move and interact with its surroundings. Its size is roughly that of a housecat, and it emits a soft, pulsing glow that illuminates the dark surroundings of the Crimson Forest. The imp's energy is connected to the forest's mysterious energies, giving it an otherworldly aura.

Metatron's voice trailed off as he began to explain the imp's significance in the Isekai genre. "You see, in the world of Isekai, imps like this one are often depicted as mischievous creatures, guiding protagonists through mystical realms or serving as familiars to powerful sorcerers."

He leaned in, a hint of excitement in his voice. "In some stories, imps are even portrayed as powerful entities, capable of manipulating reality or wielding magical powers. They're often seen as enigmatic and mysterious, adding an air of intrigue to the narrative."

"Zip it, metatron!" Kieth cut him off and turns to lyra and the others.

"Focus, everyone," Kieth said, his voice low but firm. "We need to figure out what these imps are doing here. They could be a threat, or they could lead us to the captives."

Lyra nodded, her eyes fixed on the two glowing orbs. "They seem curious, but we can't let our guard down. Imps can be tricky."

As if sensing their scrutiny, one of the imps darted forward, its tiny wings fluttering rapidly, creating a soft, melodic hum that echoed through the clearing. The other imp followed suit, mimicking its companion's movements, and together they began to dance in the air, weaving intricate patterns of light.

"Look at them," Lyra whispered, a hint of wonder in her voice. "They're not attacking. Maybe they want to communicate."

Kieth hesitated, weighing the risks. "We can't just approach them blindly. We need to be cautious."

But before he could voice his concerns, the first imp swooped down, hovering just in front of Kieth's face. Its glowing eyes sparkled with mischief, and it emitted a series of high-pitched chirps that sounded almost like laughter.

"Metatron, can you translate?" Kieth asked, his curiosity piqued despite his better judgment.

"Affirmative! However, I must inform you that imps often communicate in riddles or playful banter," Metatron replied, its tone still annoyingly cheerful. "Proceed with caution."

The imp continued to flutter around Kieth, its movements becoming more animated. It seemed to be beckoning him to follow, darting back and forth as if urging him to take a step forward.

"Maybe it wants us to follow it," Lyra suggested, her eyes bright with intrigue. "It could lead us to the captives."

Kieth exchanged glances with the others, weighing the potential risks against the possibility of finding the missing noble's daughter. "Alright, but we stay alert. If anything feels off, we pull back."

With a nod of agreement, the group cautiously followed the imp as it flitted through the trees, its glow illuminating the path ahead. The second imp trailed behind, occasionally darting ahead to ensure they were keeping up.

As they moved deeper into the forest, the atmosphere shifted. The oppressive silence began to lift, replaced by the soft sounds of nature—the rustling of leaves, the distant chirping of birds, and the gentle trickle of water. It was as if the imps were guiding them toward a hidden sanctuary.

After a few minutes of following the imps, they arrived at a small glade, bathed in dappled sunlight. In the center stood a large, ancient tree, its gnarled roots twisting and turning like the fingers of a giant. The imps danced around the tree, their lights flickering in excitement.

"This place feels... different," Kieth said, his senses tingling. "There's a strong magical presence here."

Lyra stepped closer to the tree, her hand brushing against its rough bark. "I can feel it too. It's like the forest is alive."

Suddenly, the first imp darted toward the base of the tree, hovering over a small, hidden entrance that had been obscured by vines and foliage. It chirped excitedly, urging them to look closer.

"Could this be where the captives are being held?" one of the others whispered, their voice filled with a mix of hope and apprehension.

Kieth nodded, his heart racing. "It's worth checking out. But we need to be careful. If there are demons inside, we can't afford to be caught off guard."

As they approached the entrance, the second imp flitted around them, its glow intensifying as if to encourage them. Kieth took a deep breath, steeling himself for whatever lay ahead.

"Alright, on three," he said, glancing at the others. "One... two... three!"

With that, they pushed aside the vines and stepped into the darkened entrance, the imps trailing behind them, their lights flickering like tiny stars in the gloom.

Inside, the air was cool and damp, and the faint sound of muffled voices echoed through the narrow passage. Kieth's heart raced as they moved deeper into the hidden chamber, the anticipation of finding the captives mingling with the fear of what they might encounter.

As they rounded a corner, the passage opened up into a larger room, dimly lit by glowing crystals embedded in the walls. In the center, they saw a group of captives huddled together, their expressions a mix of fear and relief as they caught sight of the newcomers.

"Stay back!" one of the captives shouted, their voice trembling. "You don't know what's down here!"

Kieth raised his hands in a gesture of peace. "We're here to help! We're looking for the noble's daughter. Are you with her?"

The captives exchanged glances, and one of them—a young woman with tear-streaked cheeks—stepped forward. "Yes! She's here! But we need to hurry. The demons will be back soon!"

"Then let's get you out of here," Kieth said, determination flooding his veins. "Follow us, and stay close."

As they began to lead the captives back toward the entrance, the imps flitted around them, their lights illuminating the path ahead. But just as they reached the passage, a low growl echoed through the chamber, sending chills down Kieth's spine.

"Get ready! We got company!" he shouted, as the shadows began to shift and coalesce into a menacing form. The air crackled with dark energy, and the unmistakable figure of a demon emerged from the darkness, its eyes glowing with malice.

"Fools!" it snarled, baring its sharp teeth. "You think you can escape with my prisoners?" The leader of the demon bandits shouted.

Kieth's heart raced as he prepared to fight, knowing that the fate of the captives—and their own lives—depended on their next move. "This is one fuck off situation"

"Tsk, jeez. Thanks for the encouragement. That's helping a lot." He said but one of his brows rise. "YEAH, KIETH! (You got this... probably.)" Metatron reply with mocking tone.

"What ever." He said as he norrow his eyes.

The demon loomed before them, its hulking form blocking the passageway, a twisted grin spreading across its face as it surveyed the group. Kieth could feel the weight of the moment pressing down on him, the stakes higher than ever. The captives huddled behind him, their eyes wide with fear, and he knew they had to act quickly.

"Stay behind me!" Kieth shouted, positioning himself protectively in front of the captives. He could feel the energy of the forest pulsing around him, a reminder of the magic that flowed through the very ground they stood on. He glanced at Lyra, josh, sir aleric and the others who was already preparing themselves her hands crackling with energy. "Ready when you are," Lyra said, her voice steady despite the tension in the air. The others nodded, their expressions resolute as they formed a protective circle around the captives.

The demon's laughter echoed through the chamber, a deep, rumbling sound that sent shivers down Kieth's spine. "Heh, look what we got here, more humans. This is getting out of hands , this idiots doesn't think before capturing humans now I'll be Force to fight not one but two of heroes. But this is great opportunity for me to show my strength to lord Aamon if I can bring back one of their head I'll be rewarded." He murmur to himself while still holding the dead of the demon bandits leader. "You think you can defeat me? I am the one who holds the power here!" It flexed its claws, the sharp tips glinting ominously in the dim light.

"Yep, we can." He replied as he summon his shutgun and reload the Dragon's breath bullet. Then glance back at josh who's unsheathed his great sword." Don't worry I have your back!" He shouted and notice a head in the demon general's hand

"Looks like , you got something there?" Kieth ask. "Just ignore this nuisance. It's none of your business." Vorgath spat. And as they talk sir aleric chime in.

"We are here ,to free the captives. Do not stop us, we don't wish to fight you guys. Our races has a five year ceasefire so we can't afford to jeopardize the treaty." Sir aleric said. The demon's grin faltered for a moment, its eyes narrowing as it considered Sir Aleric's words. "A ceasefire? You think that matters to me? You are trespassing in my domain, and I will not let you leave with my prisoners!" It took a menacing step forward, the ground trembling beneath its weight.

Kieth felt the tension in the air thicken, the energy crackling around them as the imps hovered anxiously, their lights flickering in response to the impending confrontation. "We don't want to fight," Kieth reiterated, his voice steady despite the fear gnawing at his insides. "But we will if we have to."

The demon laughed again, a harsh, mocking sound. "You think you can intimidate me with your bravado? I have crushed stronger foes than you!" It lunged forward, claws outstretched, and Kieth's instincts kicked in.

"Now!" he shouted, and the group sprang into action. Lyra unleashed a burst of energy, a brilliant flash of light that momentarily blinded the demon. Kieth took the opportunity to dash to the side, positioning himself for a clear shot.

"Lariel and Keriel! Grab the captives and head out! Grath protect them!" Sir aleric shouted. As they nodded the two imps follow them . The chaos erupted in the dimly lit chamber as the imps flitted around, their glowing forms weaving through the air like fireflies. Kieth's heart raced as he took aim with his shotgun, the Dragon's Breath bullet loaded and ready. And a loud bang reverberated through the area as The demon momentarily disoriented by Lyra's burst of energy, staggered back, its eyes narrowing in fury. "Get them out of here!" Kieth shouted, his voice cutting through the din. He could see Lariel and Keriel, with the two imps, guiding them and captives toward the entrance, their lights flickering with urgency. Grath, a hulking warrior with a fierce reputation, stood guard, ready to protect them from any potential threats.

" Fret not! I grath will protect you!"

As the captives scrambled toward safety, Kieth focused on the demon, who was regaining its composure. "You won't get away that easily!" it roared, lunging forward with renewed ferocity. But as he dash forward Kieth throw a flash granade in front of the demon landit leader. "How about I show you the light!" The flash grenade exploded in a blinding burst of light, illuminating the chamber with a searing brilliance. The demon let out a roar of frustration, its claws swiping through the air in a futile attempt to shield its eyes. Kieth seized the moment, charging forward with his shotgun raised, adrenaline coursing through his veins.

"Now, everyone! Move!" he shouted, his voice cutting through the chaos. The captives, guided by the imps and Grath, rushed toward the entrance, their fear momentarily forgotten in the face of hope.

"Got it! "Josh dash forward as he prepare his sword " In Brightest Day, in Blackest Night; No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, Beware my power! Heavenly slash!"

With a powerful swing of his great sword, Josh unleashed a radiant arc of energy that sliced through the air, aimed directly at the demon. The blade glowed with a brilliant light, illuminating the chamber as it connected with the demon's shoulder, sending it staggering back with a howl of pain.

"Keep pushing forward!" Kieth shouted, his heart racing as he took advantage of the demon's momentary distraction. He fired another shot from his shotgun, the Dragon's Breath bullet exploding in a fiery blast that engulfed the demon in flames. The creature roared in fury, its dark magic swirling around it like a tempest as it fought against the flames.

Lyra, her hands crackling with energy, stepped forward, channeling her magic into a concentrated beam of light. "We need to weaken it further! Everyone, focus your attacks!" She unleashed the beam, striking the demon squarely in the chest. The impact sent it reeling, its dark energy flickering as it struggled to maintain its form. The demon's growls turned into a cacophony of rage as it staggered back, its eyes blazing with fury. "You think you can defeat me? I am Vorgath, the Demon General! You will pay for your insolence!" It roared, the very ground trembling beneath its feet as it summoned dark energy, swirling around its claws like a storm.

Kieth felt the weight of the moment pressing down on him. They had to end this quickly before the demon could unleash its full power. "We need to keep the pressure on!" he shouted, rallying the group. "Josh, Lyra, keep attacking! Sir Aleric, flank it from the side!"

As they moved in unison, Kieth took a deep breath, focusing on the energy around him. He could feel the magic of the forest pulsing through him, a reminder of the stakes at hand. "Metatron, any suggestions?" he asked, his voice steady despite the chaos.

"Affirmative! Analyzing demon weaknesses... Vorgath is vulnerable to light-based attacks. Continue to exploit that weakness!" Metatron's voice chimed in his mind, providing a glimmer of hope amidst the turmoil. "Got it! Thanks partner!" Kieth replied, determination surging through him. "Everyone, focus on light-based attacks! We need to overwhelm him!" "Blush "

As the group rallied together, Lyra unleashed another burst of energy, her hands glowing with a radiant light. "Here goes nothing!" she shouted, sending a wave of luminescent energy toward Vorgath. The blast struck the demon, illuminating the chamber with a blinding brilliance that made the shadows retreat.

Josh followed suit, channeling his own energy into a powerful strike. "Heavenly Slash!" he called out again, swinging his great sword with all his might. The blade glowed fiercely, and as it connected with Vorgath, a shockwave of light erupted, pushing the demon back even further.

Vorgath snarled, his eyes narrowing as he struggled against the onslaught. "You think your pathetic light can defeat me? I will show you the true power of darkness!" With a roar, he summoned a swirling vortex of dark energy, aiming it directly at the group.

Get down!" Kieth shouted, instinctively diving to the side as the dark energy surged toward them. The others followed suit, narrowly avoiding the blast as it exploded against the wall, sending debris flying.

"Now!" Kieth yelled, scrambling to his feet. "While he's distracted!" He took aim with his shotgun, the Dragon's Breath bullet still primed and ready. "This ends now!"

With a steady hand, he fired, the bullet soaring through the air and striking Vorgath squarely in the chest. The explosion of fire and light engulfed the demon, illuminating the chamber once more. Vorgath let out a deafening roar, his form flickering as the light began to consume him.

"Keep pushing!" Sir Aleric shouted, his sword raised high. "We can't let up now!"

As the group pressed forward, Kieth felt a surge of energy coursing through him, the magic of the forest amplifying his resolve. "Together!" he called out, rallying everyone for one final push.

Kieth felt the power of the forest coursing through him, amplifying his strength and determination as he charged alongside his comrades. The air crackled with magic, and the very ground beneath them seemed to resonate with their resolve.

Vorgath, caught in the blinding light, let out a roar of fury and desperation. "No! This cannot be!" he bellowed, his form flickering as the light began to consume him. The shadows that had once surrounded him twisted and writhed, struggling against the onslaught of their combined power.

"Now! Finish him!" Josh shouted, his voice ringing with urgency. He and kieth raised their swords, its blade shimmering with energy, and prepared to deliver the final blow. Vorgath's eyes widened in horror as the light engulfed him, the shadows that had once been his allies now retreating in fear. "No! As the light faded, the echoes of the battle subsided, leaving behind an eerie silence. Kieth stood panting, his heart racing as he surveyed the aftermath. The chamber was now illuminated by the soft glow of the crystals, and the oppressive darkness that had once filled the space was gone.
