Chapter 42 - Chapter 2: Dungeon—dangerous or not?

The group of friends stood outside the Adventurer's Guild, a grand stone building with a large wooden sign creaking in the gentle breeze. Sir Aleric, their mentor, led the way inside.

As they entered, the guild's receptionist, a friendly-looking woman with a warm smile, greeted them. "Welcome, young adventurers! Are you here to register as a party?"

Lariel nodded. "Yes, we are. We're here to register our party and become official adventurers."

The receptionist nodded, her eyes scanning the group. "Very well. Let's get started then. Please, follow me."

She led them to a large registration desk, where a burly man with a thick beard and a friendly demeanor greeted them.

"Ah, new recruits, eh? Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild! I'm Grimbold, the guild's registrar. Let's get you folks registered and on your way to becoming legendary adventurers!"

Kieth and Josh stepped forward, grinning at each other.

Grimbold looked at them, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Ah, you two are... quite the infamous duo, aren't you?"

Kieth and Josh exchanged a mischievous glance.

Grimbold chuckled. "Well, let's get you registered then. Kieth, you're a Summoner, and Josh, you're a... Sword saint ,correct?"

Josh nodded, while Keith grinned.

Grimbold nodded, his eyes scanning the registration forms. "Very well. Based on your skills and experience, I'm ranking you both as... C-rank adventurers."

As Grimbold handed them their registration certificates, a murmur ran through the guild's members, who were watching the scene with interest.

Some of them whispered to each other, their eyes fixed on Kieth.

"Hey, isn't that... Kieth? I thought he was dead."

"No way, he's the strongest Summoner, they say."

Kieth's ears reddened slightly as he listened to the whispers, but he just grinned and winked at Josh.

Josh chuckled and clapped Keith on the back. "Looks like you're famous, man."

Kieth chuckled, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. "Yeah, I guess I am."

Sir Aleric cleared his throat, interrupting the commotion. "Alright, let's get moving. We have a mission to complete."

The group nodded, and with their registration complete, they set off towards the dungeon, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

With their party registration complete, Kieth and his friends gathered around the mission board, eager to choose their first official mission.

Grimbold smiled, nodding at them. "Ah, excellent timing! We've got a few missions available for C-Rank parties like yours. Take a look and see what catches your eye."

The group scanned the mission board, their eyes widening at the various quests and jobs available.

Lariel pointed to a mission titled "Goblin Eradication." "Hey, this one looks easy. We just need to clear out a goblin nest near the city."

Grath shook his head. "Nah, that's too easy. We need something that'll challenge us."

Keriel's eyes sparkled. "Ooh, what about this one? 'Lost Cat Rescue.' It says we need to retrieve a noble's lost cat from the city's sewer system."

Josh chuckled. "You want to risk our lives for a cat?"

Princess Lyra rolled her eyes. "Please, let's not waste our time with something so trivial."

Kieth's eyes scanned the board, his gaze lingering on a particular mission. "Guys, what about this one? 'Dungeon Exploration: Floor 1.'"

The group turned to him, their expressions curious.

Grimbold nodded. "Ah, you're interested in exploring the dungeon, eh? That's a great choice for a C-Rank party like yours. The dungeon's Floor 1 is relatively safe, but it's still a great way to gain experience and test your skills."

Kieth grinned. "That's exactly what we need. Let's do it."

The group nodded in agreement, and Grimbold handed them a mission scroll. "Very well, Maverick's Fury. You're officially assigned to the Dungeon Exploration: Floor 1 mission. Be careful, and don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it."

With their mission in hand, Kieth and his friends set off towards the dungeon, ready to face whatever dangers lay within.

When a Filipino got isekai'd with a twist!

"Only I can summon those! (Pinoy Isekai)

Chapter 2: Dungeon—dangerous or not?

The sun had barely risen over the horizon, casting a warm glow over the small town of Willowdale. Sir Aleric, the seasoned knight and leader of the group, stood at the town's entrance, his eyes fixed on the dungeon's entrance in the distance.

"Alright, let's review the plan one more time," Sir Aleric said, his voice firm and commanding. "We'll be heading into the dungeon's east wing, where the kobolds and goblins are supposed to be."

Kieth nodded intently, his eyes locked on Sir Aleric. "Got it. And if we get lost, I'll just use my amazing sense of direction... which I'm pretty sure I left in my other pants."

Josh chuckled. "Dude, you're not exactly the most reliable navigator."

Princess Lyra playfully rolled her eyes. "Josh, don't encourage him."

Grath nodded thoughtfully. "I've been thinking... maybe we should consider bringing some extra supplies, just in case."

Keriel bounced up and down. "Ooh, ooh! Can we bring some more potions? I want to try out some new spells!"

Lariel smiled. "I've got some extra arrows and a few tricks up my sleeve. Let's do this."

Sir Aleric nodded, his expression serious. "Alright, let's gear up and get moving. We've got a dungeon to conquer. Kieth, take point and... try not to get us lost."

"Who am I? Zoro?" he replied, and Josh just pinched his nose.

With a deep breath, Sir Aleric drew his sword, and the party set off towards the dungeon, ready to face whatever lay within.

As they approached the dungeon entrance, Kieth turned to the group with a mischievous grin. "You know, I've been thinking... we should make a bet on who can take down the most monsters."

Josh raised an eyebrow. "What's the prize?"

Kieth thought for a moment before responding, "The loser has to buy dinner at the next town we visit."

Josh grinned. "Man, if you're participating in the bet, Kieth, your guns are overkill. You just need to pull out your mini-gun, and it's game over."

Keith chuckled. "Hey, that's not fair. I'm trying to keep things interesting."

Josh held up his hands, his expression mock-serious. "But brother, don't pull that mini-gun, okay? Queen Valeria will definitely kill us... and then bring us back to life just so she can kill us again."

Keith laughed. "Yeah, no thanks. I don't want to experience that kind of royal wrath."

Princess Lyra playfully rolled her eyes. "You guys are ridiculous."

Sir Aleric cleared his throat, his expression stern, but a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "Let's focus on the task at hand. We have a dungeon to clear, and I expect you all to follow my lead... and not get us all killed by the queen."

As they ventured deeper into the dungeon, the sound of dripping water and creaking wooden beams echoed through the corridors. Sir Aleric led the way, his torch casting flickering shadows on the walls.

They approached a large wooden door, adorned with rusty hinges and a heavy-looking iron knocker in the shape of a lion's head. Kieth reached out to push the door open, but Sir Aleric stopped him.

"Wait," Sir Aleric said. "This door looks old. I don't want it to collapse on us or, like in a horror movie, you know, make a creepy sound."

Kieth grinned. "Don't worry, Sir Aleric. I'm sure it's still got a few 'hinges' on its social life."

Josh groaned. "That was a terrible pun, Kieth."

Princess Lyra chuckled. "Actually, I thought it was kind of funny."

Sir Aleric shook his head. "Let's just focus on getting through the door, shall we?"

With a creak, the door swung open, revealing a dimly lit chamber beyond. The air inside was stale and musty, filled with the scent of decay.

As they stepped inside, Kieth whispered, "You know, I think this room has been 'dying' for some decoration."

Josh facepalmed. "Kieth, stop for a moment."

Kieth stopped and slowly turned, a mischievous glint in his eye. "What?! What did I step on? Poop again?"

Josh groaned. "Kieth, seriously, stop with the jokes."

Princess Lyra giggled. "Oh, Kieth, you're such a goofball."

Sir Aleric shook his head, a small smile on his face. "Let's focus on the task at hand, shall we?"

Grath nodded, his eyes scanning the room. "I think I see something over there. It looks like a... a treasure chest?"

Keriel's eyes lit up. "Ooh, treasure! Let's go see!"

Lariel drew her bow, her eyes narrowed. "Wait, let's be careful. We don't know what kind of traps might be set."

As they approached the treasure chest, Kieth muttered under his breath, "I hope it's not a 'crappy' treasure...uhm…I think there's something…"

As they approached the treasure chest, Lariel's eyes narrowed. "I think it's a mimic," she said, her voice low and urgent. "It's emanating an illusion... be careful!"

But Kieth and Josh were already charging forward, their eyes fixed on the treasure chest.

"Hey Kieth, Josh, don't go near—" Sir Aleric started to say, but it was too late.

Kieth and Josh dashed forward like madmen, their swords raised high.

"Ahahahaha! Kill that box! I'll use it as firewood!" Kieth shouted, his eyes wild with frenzy.

"You motherfucker! Where's my puffing hat?! I need it from my ref! You fucking eat it!" Josh yelled, his face twisted in a snarl.

Lariel's eyes widened in alarm. "They're under the mimik's control! We have to snap them out of it!"

Grath nodded, his eyes flashing with determination. "I'll try to reason with them. Keriel, can you—"

But before Grath could finish, Kieth and Josh began to attack the treasure chest with renewed ferocity, their swords clashing against the wood in a frenzy of steel and splinters.

Lariel, Grath, and Keriel watched in horror as Kieth and Josh continued their frenzied attack on the treasure chest.

But as they watched, they realized that something was off. The mimic's illusion seemed to be... faltering?

Suddenly, the treasure chest exploded in a shower of splinters, and the mimik's illusion dissipated. Kieth and Josh stood panting, their swords still raised.

But as they looked down at the wreckage, their faces fell. The mimik, instead of devouring them, lay motionless and defeated amidst the splinters.

Lariel, Grath, and Keriel face-palmed in unison.

"Seriously?" Lariel muttered. "You two were supposed to be the mimik's victims, not the other way around."

Grath shook his head. "I think we underestimated Kieth and Josh's... unique brand of crazy."

Keriel giggled. "Well, at least they made it entertaining."

Kieth and Josh looked at each other, then back at the wreckage, before bursting out laughing.

Sir Aleric sighed, rubbing his temples. "I have a feeling this is going to be a long day... Mom, please make me some lemon juice when I get home... my brain hurts because of these two."

Lariel chuckled. "Sir Aleric, you're a knight. You're supposed to be brave and stoic."

Sir Aleric looked at her wryly. "You try dealing with Kieth and Josh on a daily basis. See how long you last."

As they ventured deeper into the dungeon, they stumbled upon a group of high orcs, their thick, green skin glistening in the dim light.

Kieth's eyes lit up with excitement. "Oh, sweet! Orcs! Time to break out the big guns!" As he said that, he summoned his mini-gun. And all of their eyes turned wide as their heads snapped in Kieth's direction.

He reached for his mini-gun, but before he could pull it out, the others jumped into action.

"Stop the idiot! He's at it again!" Sir Aleric shouted, grabbing Kieth's arm.

Lariel, Grath, and Keriel all rushed to Kieth's side, holding him back.

Josh chuckled. "Dude, not again. We just got out of one mess."

The high orcs, taken aback by the sudden commotion, tilted their heads in confusion. They looked at each other, clearly unsure of what to make of the scene unfolding before them.

One of the orcs, clearly the leader, took a step forward. "Uh, human... friends? What... what is going on here?"

Sir Aleric's expression turned stern as he turned to Kieth. "This is why you were here to train, Kieth—to focus and work as a team, not to play around."

Kieth's grin faltered, and his expression turned serious. He holstered his mini-gun and pulled out his M16 enhanced rifle instead.

"Well, sorry for that," Kieth said, his voice more subdued. "Let's kick these motherfuckers' asses."

Sir Aleric's expression remained stern, but a hint of approval flickered in his eyes. "Good. Now, let's get to work. Our mission is to clear this dungeon, and that means taking down these orcs."

Kieth nodded, his eyes locked on the orcs. "Sir Aleric, what's the plan?"

Sir Aleric surveyed the area, his eyes taking in the layout of the room and the positioning of the orcs. "Alright, here's the plan. Lariel, Grath, take point and provide cover fire. Keriel, Josh, provide suppressive fire from the flanks. Kieth, you're with me; can you aim at their legs? (Absolutely!) Ok then, we'll push forward and take out the orcs.

Kieth nodded, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Roger that, Sir Aleric."

The team nodded, and Sir Aleric gave the signal. "Let's move out!"

The team sprang into action, moving swiftly and silently into position. Lariel and Grath took point, their swords and bows at the ready. Keriel and Josh moved to the flanks, providing cover fire. Kieth and Sir Aleric pushed forward, their swords and magic spells trained on the orcs.

The orcs, taken by surprise, stumbled backward in disarray. The team opened fire, their rifles echoing off the stone walls. The orcs returned fire, but the team's superior training and coordination gave them the upper hand.

As the battle raged on, Kieth and Sir Aleric pushed forward, taking out orc after orc. Kieth's training kicked in, and he moved with precision and deadly accuracy. Sir Aleric fought alongside him, their movements fluid and synchronized.

The orcs, vastly outnumbered and outgunned, began to fall back. The team pressed their advantage, pushing forward with relentless pressure.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the orcs retreated, abandoning their position. The team ceased fire, their chests heaving with exhaustion.

Sir Aleric turned to Kieth, a nod of approval on his face. "Well done, Kieth. You're a natural."

Kieth grinned, his eyes gleaming with pride. "Thanks, Sir Aleric. I couldn't have done it without the team."

The team nodded in agreement, their faces set with determination. They knew that this was just the beginning of their journey, and they were ready for whatever lay ahead.

Josh turned to Kieth, a curious expression on his face. "Yeah, Kieth, I forgot to ask you—you said you can't hold a sword because of your class restrictions, so why were you holding one when we chased that mimik?"

Kieth grinned mischievously. "Well, I want to surprise you guys, but the situation revealed it, hahahaha."

Lariel raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean? You can't just suddenly hold a sword if it's against your class restrictions."

Kieth's grin widened. "Ah, but that's where you're wrong, my friends. You see, I've recently... evolved, let's say. My tenacity has reached a new level, and I've gained the ability to change my class at will."

The team stared at Kieth in shock.

Sir Aleric's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean by 'change your class'?"

Keith shrugged. "I mean exactly that. I can switch from Summoner to Knight and vice versa. The restrictions are gone."

Grath's eyes widened. "That's impossible. Class restrictions are hardcoded into our abilities. There's a reason why our creators put those in us."

Keith chuckled. "Impossible is just a word, my friend, and I've proven it wrong. You mean I'm possible!"

The team burst out laughing at Kieth's cheesy one-liner.

Keriel grinned. "Kieth, you're such a dork."

Keith laughed. "Hey, someone's got to keep things interesting around here!"

Keriel looked at Kieth with newfound respect. "Kieth, that's amazing. You're like a... a class shifter or something. Or a cheat class."

Keith laughed. "Well, yeah, maybe something like that. But I like the sound of that. Class Shifter Kieth has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

Sir Aleric shook his head, a hint of a smile on his face. "Alright, alright. You've made your point, Kieth. But let's get back to the matter at hand. We still have a mission to complete."

The team nodded, their expressions turning serious once again.

Lariel spoke up, "Sir Aleric, now that we know Kieth can switch classes, does that change our strategy?"

Sir Aleric thought for a moment before responding, "Actually, it does. Kieth, can you switch to Knight mode now?"

Notice! Do you want to change class into knight class?

Yes, no?

"Yes, please."

Kieth nodded and summoned his exo suit for a strength boost and speed boost. And suddenly his body began to glow with a faint blue light. His clothes changed, and he was now dressed in a suit of armor.

Kieth grinned, "Ready when you are, Sir Aleric."

Sir Aleric nodded. "Good. With Kieth's new abilities, we can take on more challenging foes. Let's move out and see what other surprises this dungeon has in store for us."

The team nodded, and with Kieth in his knight form, they continued deeper into the dungeon, ready to face whatever lay ahead.

The group readied themselves, their eyes fixed on the source of the noise. As they waited, the rustling grew louder, and a pair of glowing eyes appeared in the darkness.

Grath stepped forward, his sword at the ready. "What's out there?" he growled.

A figure emerged from the shadows, its eyes fixed on the group. It was a giant spider, its body as big as a wagon wheel.

Keriel gasped, her hand on her dagger. "A giant spider? That's not good."

Josh chuckled. "Don't worry, we've got this."

Princess Lyra smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I've always wanted to fight a giant spider."

Kieth grinned, his eyes locked on the spider. "Alright, let's do this. Grath, take point. Keriel, get ready to cast your spells. Josh, watch our backs. Lariel, be ready to heal us. Princess Lyra, you're with me."

Sir Aleric nodded, his eyes fixed on the spider. "I'll provide backup. Let's move out."

The group nodded, their faces set with determination. With a fierce battle cry, they charged forward, ready to take on the giant spider.

The spider lunged forward, its fangs snapping wildly. Grath met it head-on, his sword flashing in the dim light. Keriel cast her spells, sending bolts of magical energy shooting towards the spider. Josh watched their backs, his eyes scanning the shadows for any signs of more monsters. Lariel stood ready, her hands glowing with healing magic. Princess Lyra fought alongside Kieth, her dagger flashing in the dim light.

As the battle raged on, the group began to gain the upper hand. The spider's legs began to falter, its movements slowing. With one final blow, Grath struck the spider down, its body crashing to the ground.

The group cheered, their faces flushed with excitement. Kieth grinned, his eyes shining with pride. "Nice work, guys. We make a pretty good team."

As they caught their breath, they noticed a door hidden behind the spider's web. The door was old and rusty, with intricate carvings of skulls and snakes.

Keriel's eyes widened. "Guys, look at that door. I think it might be a treasure room."

Keith chuckled. "Oh, maybe a boss room! Hey Josh, are you ready for a cinematic boss fight?"

Josh rolled his eyes, grinning. "You're such a goofball, Kieth."

The group laughed, their tension easing. With a deep breath, they pushed open the door, ready to face whatever lay beyond.

Kieth's eyes widened as he took in the information. This was going to be a tough fight.

"Looks like these guys are sturdy," Keith whispers.

Kieth's eyes locked onto the spider, his mind racing with strategies. He knew that taking down this creature wouldn't be easy, but he was confident in his team's abilities.

"Alright, guys, here's the plan," Kieth said, his voice low and steady. "Grath, take point and try to get its attention. Lariel, be ready to heal Grath as soon as he takes damage. Keriel, cast your spells to try and immobilize it. Josh, watch our backs and make sure nothing else sneaks up on us. Princess Lyra, you're with me. Sir Aleric nodded, his eyes fixed on the spider. "I'll provide backup and help wherever I can."

The team nodded, their faces set with determination. With a deep breath, they charged forward, ready to take on the giant spider.

As they fought, Kieth's eyes scanned the system notification still hovering in his vision. "So he's weak against fire-based attacks?" Kieth muttered to himself, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Let's see how you fend against my shotgun with its dragon's breath bullets."

Kieth switched to his shotgun, loading a round of dragon's breath bullets. He aimed at the spider's exposed underside and fired, unleashing a blast of flame-tipped projectiles.

The spider let out a deafening screech as the bullets ripped into its flesh, flames engulfing its body. The team took advantage of the distraction, pressing their attack with renewed ferocity.

The spider stumbled, its legs faltering beneath its massive body. Grath took advantage of the opening, striking the final blow that sent the spider crashing to the ground.

The team cheered, their faces flushed with excitement. Kieth grinned, feeling a sense of satisfaction at having taken down the formidable foe. "Not bad for a team effort," he said, clapping Grath on the back.
