"Where is it?! Someone just tell me where it is?!" The demon in kept shouting.
Nephilim was confused. "Who is that? What's he talking about?" He asked Nirvana.
"I don't know. But I believe I know what he's looking for. The thing that I want to show you."
"Which is?"
"Something I can't talk about here. Something that he absolutely can't have."
Nephilim looked serious. "Then lets make this quick."
But the greedy adventurers had a different idea. Specifically, the A class tank who was listening to the siblings.
He shouted at the top of his lungs, "Its them!" He pointed at Nirvana and Nephilim. "They are the ones that have it!"
The guild master wasn't having it and punched him in the face. "What do you think you're doing?"
"Listen to me. I have an idea. If we can get that to go after the dragon lord, that'll be our chance to perform a sneak attack on them."
"Sneak attack? Are you crazy? We don't even know what THAT is or what it's looking for. Didn't you hear them? They can take down heroes. What makes you think that we stand a chance?"
"It must've been a bluff. There's no being on this continent that is more powerful than a hero. They're just trying to scare us."
"Are you serious? How stupid can you be? They are sector lords. The same monsters who killed countless S class adventurers. Your greed for money must've gotten to your way of thinking. You've doomed us all."
They all looked at Nirvana who was staring back at them without any expression, mostly because she's a dragon.
"Aren't you mad?" Nephilim asked her.
"No, not really. After all, its my fault for not using telepathy."
The demon now targeted them. Without any hesitation, he used his magic to chain them to the ground. But they didn't even flinch or change their facial expression.
"Nephilim. Lets make this quick."
Nirvana then forcefully broke the chains and opened her mouth to attack him with her ice breath. A big magic circle appeared in front of her, then a beam of ice came from its center and tore through everything close to it as it headed in the direction of the demon.
But he dodged it and tried to go for physical attacks. Nirvana isn't nimble enough to defeat fast moving enemies at close proximities. So Nephilim, who despite his size was incredibly agile, took over.
When the demon got close, he saw it. What he was looking for. Covered in ice on Nirvana side, he felt the energy coming from it. Its the sword. But when he saw it, he got distracted and Nephilim punted him into the ground with such incredible force that it even blew the rain away. Literally.
The demon kept going deeper and deeper into the ground for a while. On the surface, the rain came back, but the demon didn't. Now the adventurers believed them. They believed that they were no march for them.
"Is that quick enough for you?" Nephilim asked.
"That'll do."
"Are we going to finish what we came here for?"
Nirvana looked around and saw how many building were destroyed and how a lot of people were dead. Then he looked at the palace, which was now a pile of rubble.
"There's no need. We've done enough. The rest should play out as we intended." She then opened her wings that caused a great wind. "Lets return." Then she took off and left Nephilim there who was looking at the hole in the ground wondering why a demon was there of all places.
At Lenora, the army was marching towards the city, ready to destroy it with the confidence that there was no protector. They didn't want the monsters to keep advancing in this pace. They didn't want them to continue hindering the demons' plans.
When they got close enough so that they were able to see the city, they were intercepted. In their eyes, two monsters came to face them and blocked their path. Little did they know, that those two monsters were Grendel and Cassius.
The leader knew that there wasn't any threat in the city, so he felt that the two of them were only trying to slow them down so the rest could escape. 'But if that is the case, then how did they know that they were being attacked?' He wondered.
When he sensed their aura, he told himself that he was overthinking because their aura was the same as that of a normal monster. So he sent a dozen skeletons to take care of them. He didn't expect them to just fall apart before even coming into contact with them.
"Where did you come from?" Cassius asked. Grendel didn't expect him to be so straight forward. "What do you want?"
"I should be asking you the same question." The one in the cloak spoke. "Since when did monsters advance so much all of a sudden? Its very unrealistic." 'What happened to the skeletons?' He thought as he spoke.
Cassius looked at him then spoke. "If I were to guess correctly, there's at least 5000 of you all together. According to the continental laws put in place by the humans, if a country, city or species of any kind puts together an army of greater than 300, the act is tantamount to declaring war."
Everyone who heard Cassius say this was stunned beyond belief. The fact that he used a law put in place by humans in a matter of monsters and demons or even the fact that he actually knew such a thing caught everyone by surprise.
"Do you wish to continue?" He added.
For a second, the leader of the demons didn't know how to answer. When he came to his senses, he wasted no time to yell a command. "Let none of them escape!" And without a second thought, they obeyed, not expecting what was to come.
Grendel and Cassius weren't the only ones to sense the impending danger. Hundreds of elves were hiding on tops of trees with arrows ready to be fired. The arrows came down on the demon army like rain on grass.
Orcs, minotaurs and other giant monsters ripped apart the skeletons like they were nothing. The other lesser demons were also destroyed. Their leader, who was looking at his army as it was being destroyed, wondered how they are so coordinated.
He knew that they were strong, but such monster types are typically uncoordinated. He didn't want to weaken his actual army just in case, so he brought the weakest of them to see their reaction. Although he was originally angry at the monsters, he had an idea of how to use them.
The large number of skeletons were used to see if they would cower in fear, run, or fight back. Depending on their actions, he would act accordingly. But he hoped that they would fight back. After all, they've made incredible accomplishments in a short amount of time. They were bound to be useful.
Once he got the sword, he didn't have to do anything else. Just sit back and watch others do all his work for him. In the end, he would still have won, even if the current battle was lost.
Time had past. The area was quiet. Bones were everywhere. No one expected for them to be destroyed so easily. Not a single citizen of Lenora was killed. Probably the easiest battle any of the monsters ever had.
"Something's not right." Cassius, who barely did anything, spoke.
"What is it?" Grendel, who was holding a dead demon, asked.
"That was way too easy. For the amount of mana that I felt before we arrived here, that was too easy. I would've thought that there's a dragon or something more powerful if I didn't come here."
Grendel thought about what he said. He was starting to see the point that Cassius was trying to make. But they hadn't fought anything like that just yet. To make it worse, they still felt the mana in their surrounding. The amount was suggesting that even they might have a hard time facing what they felt.
Then they thought about the fact that, next to the leader of the demons, were five others who didn't even move the whole time. They stood in a line side by side. In the middle was their leader, covered in a cloak. His face couldn't be seen at all.
Even the ones who were celebrating their victory stopped because of the eerie feeling in the air brought by the six who were still standing. None had an emotion on their face, none moved, none talked. Then Cassius broke the silence.
"Who are you?" He asked. They didn't answer for a few seconds then their leader started laughing hysterically in the dead silence of the gazes.
When he finished, he sighed then spoke. "Sorry about the silence. You see, the thing is, we don't intend on being your enemies. This was just our way of saying hi." When he finished, his voice started sounding serious. "Vampire... Hope that we never meet again."
Those were his last words as he turned and went back the way they came from. Grendel didn't want to let them get away so easily. But Cassius prevented him from escalating the situation further than need be.
"Every time the one in the cloak spoke after the battle, it felt like I was being stabbed in the head." He said. "Look around. I wasn't the only one." All the elves in the area seemed to be scared of something to the point that they were sweating and shaking in fear. But the other monsters were normal, including Grendel.
A little while later, Nirvana and Nephilim arrived. She turned into her human sized form while he shrunk his size a little. They wasted no time to go and meet the rest.
The day had passed. Night fell. In a meeting room inside the palace in the middle of Lenora, the four siblings were seating together, preparing to start a conversation.
"Cassius," Nirvana started. "You look like you have something important to say."
"You as well."
"Where's the master?"
"He went to investigate the Sector at the far east." A beast man who was standing aside from them spoke.
"There's another sector?"
"That's what he went to find out." Cassius spoke.
"I see. Then I'll go first." When she said this, she lifted something that was wrapped in a rag and placed it on the table. Then she removed the rag and there was ice in it. The ice covered a sword.
"Look at this closely." She said. "What do you think this is?"
"A special sword of some kind?" Grendel responded.
"This sword... Its made of Euracknium." They stood in shock, even those who were behind them were stunned.
"What?"
"How's that possible?"
"You want to test it?" She asked. "The one using it didn't seem to know what it was. He was holding it barehand when he stabbed me. Then he got stuck on my back and froze there."
"Stabbed? Doesn't that mean you came into contact with it?"
"How did you remove it if it's made of Euracknium?"
"I didn't grab the sword. I grabbed the body. But it already touched me." She turned and showed her back. There was a huge wound that didn't heal. "It came off with the skin and everything else it touched. That's why its so bloody. When I realized what it was, I immediately iced it so as to not touch it accidentally."
"Why was there a sword made of Euracknium in the hands of the humans?"
"I don't know... But a demon was after it. We can't let others have it."
"A demon?" Cassius asked.
"Wait a minute." Nephilim started. "During the fight with the hero, when our master was consumed by black death. Didn't he push back a Heaven's Tower?"
Nirvana tried to remember then she understood. "You're saying that..."
"The master can come into contact with Euracknium and escape from its clutches." Cassius interrupted. When they made this realization, they started to note how powerful their master is. So they decided to bring the matter of the sword to him.
"Now its my turn." Cassius started. "We were attacked."
"By who?" She asked.
"Demons."
Nirvana's face became even more serious. "How many?"
"An army, although weak. That isn't the issue though." He paused then continued. "The real problem is their leader. We might have some threats that we didn't even know we had this entire time."
They all sighed and Nirvana commented, "Where is the master when we need him?"
Back at the place where the demons lived...
"What?" The angry voice of the one in the cloak could be heard. "You're telling me that you failed?" The demon that was at Farglade was kneeling in front him.
"That's not it. It's the dragon lord! She is the one who has it."
"The dragon lord? You mean the monsters?"
"T...T...That's right."
" *Sigh*. They came in our way yet again." He looked away from the demon. "Your free to go."
"Really? T...Thank you, my lord."
"I said stop calling me that!" He shouted at him angrily. Then the head of the demon literally exploded and blood splattered everywhere.
Another lesser demon quickly ran there and cleaned it up. One of the five stood from afar and asked him what he will do now.
His response was, "We'll change nothing. Everything will continue as planned. No one is allowed to interfere with the monsters. One mishap won't affect us much." His voice suddenly became more cheerful after saying this.
"After all, we still need to prepare the world for its impending destruction."
