Chapter 13 - I Want to Give You Know the Honour to Carry My Children

Alexandra's POV—

I can feel sadness radiating from them. It's not just them; it's applicable for everyone. Almost all people who are still alive, have lost their loved ones. It would be useless for me to say that I could know their pain. I don't know. I don't have anyone to lose anymore. Haha… in a way it's good that I don't have anyone to worry for.

Lia said, "I don't know if my husband and children are still… alive or not." I could sense that she wanted to leave from here right now and rush to them. But it's a vicious joke played by the fate that she has been caught and forcibly held captive.

"Where are they?" I asked.

"They… are at a hospital, which is some kilometres away from here," replied Lia.

"Don't worry, Lia. Once we leave from here, I promise you, I will reunite you with your family," promised Shuren.

It was a fairytale promise, one that could never be fulfilled. Yet, Shuren's voice radiated with confidence. She believed that she could keep her promise.

"Shuren, you know you can't keep your promise. They won't let us go," said Shimran, becoming the voice of reason among us. That's what I thought as well.

Why have they kept us here? My pupils were blown apart when a thought entered my mind. They wanted to make a baby factory. That bastard wanted to plant his seeds… in us. My entirely body shuddered with disgust. Like hell, I will let him do that.

"Do you always need to be so pessimistic?" snarled Shuren.

"It's not her p-pessimistic… attitude. It's the truth. You can't possibly think that you can defeat him," said Jessie, backing her up.

Lia smiled sadly. Even she knew that it was a wistful wish. Shaking her head, she said, "Let's forget it. We are powerless to do anything. It's my problem anyway. I shouldn't be the one to impose my problems on you all. Hmmm… Alexandra? What's your age?" She was genuinely trying to change the topic of the discussion.

My age? I replied, "I am 21." That's what my age was in my previous life. In both lives actually, I have only lived up to 21 years of age. I don't it's a coincidence or a curse that I only live up to 21 years of age.

The group looked at me in surprise. "You are youngest among all of us," commented Weslie.

"Even I am only 25 years old. You are even younger than me," muttered Shimran.

Lia smirked, "Well~ I am the oldest here. So, you all better address me as 'Big Sister.'"

"Not going to do that," groaned Shuren.

Lia turned towards me with sparkling eyes, making me straighten up my back. I tried to avert my eyes but I couldn't.

Having no other choice, I muttered, "Big sister Lia…"

Lia instantly brightened and hugged me. I blushed in response. It wasn't because a woman hugged me; it was because of the sheer embarrassment I was feeling.

"Well, here she falls in her trap," commented Shuren. Her eyes were full of pity for me. It wasn't that bad, right?

"Shimran, do you know anything about Henrich?" asked Weslie.

"Henrich?" I asked.

"The one for whom, we are caught for. His… hands can p-produce fire," said Weslie. Her last sentence had a trace of fear in them.

So, that bastard's name is Henrich.

Shimran nodded in confirmation. I looked at her, eager to know about their relationship. She opened her mouth and said, "He studies… studied with me, if I would be taking this situation into consideration. He is a fanatic about novels and stuff. He always read them in class. I would say he preached to our classmates. A typical nerd, who was bullied by his peers. 'Chosen one,' he called himself. He believed that one day we would be hit by the apocalypse. And… it did."

"Did you do something to him? Does he hold grudge against you?" I asked.

Shimran nodded her head. "He proposed me and I refused him. It wasn't because of his looks. It was because who he was. I guess you know what I am talking about. He said he was the chosen one and like every other 'male protagonist,' he should build a harem for himself. 'I want to give you know the honour to carry my children.' These were his words."

"Absolute madman!" yelled Jessie, wiping her tears.

Shimran continued, "He believes that he is the one chosen to protect the humanity and to repopulate them."

An 'obsessed' otaku. Why am I not surprised? Being a previous otaku myself, I could easily understand his words. It was that I refused to accept them. I thought maybe he has deeper motive. But I was apparently wrong.
