Chapter 103 - Chapter 103

Daddy - Paladin, Revelation, Thinker.

They believe in the power of the Holy Light and are a group of magic warriors blessed by God in the Cathedral of Belmare!

They carry heavy crosses and use the divine power bestowed upon them by their faith to assist their companions in fighting against evil. Sometimes, they call upon the Holy Light to directly punish their enemies. When necessary, they will even sacrifice themselves to save their teammates' lives...

They are a group of highly respected, popular, and virtuous people.

The Pearl of Apocalypse is the awakening skill of the healer. It is also the signature skill of the Paladin. Its existence allows a healer to get a group entry ticket even if they are completely unequipped.

If the Level 51 Honor Blessing can double the main DPS's damage, then the high-level Pearl of Apocalypse will triple it!

And that's still a conservative estimate. That alone proves how powerful it is!

In public, this skill has a familiar nickname: The Sun!

However, veteran Paladins will call it A! Po! Ka! Lipse! with devout reverence.

Luke stared blankly at the golden skill book in his hand, unable to believe it for a moment.

[Skill Book: Pearl of Apocalypse]

He never imagined he would draw another awakening skill book so soon.

The power of awakening skills manifests in the real world, and it's no exaggeration to call them extremely powerful. After all, these are signature skills of a profession—the strongest skills besides secondary awakenings.

War Lord is an awakened skill of the female mechanic.

There's no need to explain how powerful War Lord is. So, just how powerful would the Pearl of Apocalypse be?

Luke couldn't hold back his trembling hands. He nervously flipped through the skill book, his face filled with pilgrimage-like reverence as he read carefully...

"Create a miniature artificial sun that contains divine power... Oh my god, an artificial sun?! There are even construction blueprints... Friendly creatures under its light can rapidly recover... Their body functions will be greatly enhanced... Can the light pearls be changed into dark pearls? When attacking, powerful dark rays will be emitted, causing massive damage to enemies..."

The bedroom remained silent for ten minutes.

Luke finally closed the skill book, its dazzling golden light dimming as the pages snapped shut. Yet, some of the brilliance still escaped, making it clear to anyone that this book was no ordinary item.

Luke frowned.

"It's actually a construction blueprint to build a permanent artificial sun! The effect is the same as the Pearl of Apocalypse in DNF, and it can also transform into a Dark Pearl. But the cost… I'm afraid it'd take billions to build..."

Poverty. Damn poverty!

Luke didn't hesitate. He clapped both hands on the golden book, and it instantly dissolved into golden light, merging into his body.

A surge of realization filled his mind. He slowly sat cross-legged on the bed and closed his eyes.

Within moments, golden flames flickered from his nostrils with each breath. It was a sign of the Holy Light resisting integration with his body.

The intensity gradually increased—the Holy Light refused to merge with Luke.

It made sense. He wasn't a true Paladin. Logically, he didn't deserve the Holy Light's blessing. If anything, he was more suited to the power of destruction.

However, he could feel an immeasurable force within him forcibly suppressing the Holy Light.

Even though the Holy Light had a will of its own, constantly trying to escape, the power inside Luke was like a bottomless black hole. With each breath, the golden flames that seeped out were sucked right back in. A constant tug-of-war.

Time passed—he had no idea how long.

Luke sat there like an old monk in meditation, breathing steady and composed.

"It's the system," Luke thought.

This wasn't the first time it had happened.

When he learned Mind Qi Shield, extra Mind Qi had appeared in his body out of nowhere. When he acquired Asura Evil Light Slash, he suddenly had Asura's energy.

Each time, these foreign forces had resisted him. He had been using them forcibly, but they never truly became part of him.

They were borrowed.

The system suppressed these conflicting energies within him, binding them together like a black hole, making them tools for his use.

The difference this time was the sheer intensity.

After all, the Pearl of Apocalypse was an awakening skill of the Paladin. The Holy Light it contained was unimaginably powerful.

Without the system—or a true Paladin's inheritance—Luke estimated that this overwhelming divine energy alone would have burst him like a balloon.

As long as the system existed, it didn't matter how immense the energy was. No matter how different, conflicting, or volatile the forces were, they would reside within his body, forced into harmony under the system's control.

That was the power of the system!

Luke often wondered—who created this system?

And why?

Was his reincarnation just some alien's idea of a joke?

Unlikely.

From the clues Ross had given him, he already had some theories.

But thinking about it was pointless.

Right now, he and the system were tied together, sharing the same fate. He was lucky he hadn't reincarnated as a slime.

Their interests were aligned.

Spreading the glory of the Apostles matched his iron rule: Survival first.

As long as that remained true, he would continue supporting the system. It made him strong, and he benefited from it.

Even if the system asked him to cross the line one day, as long as it didn't violate his bottom line, Luke believed he wouldn't hesitate.

Ross was obsessed with blowing up Stark Tower.

Hmmm… Luke thought that sounded feasible.

It wasn't that he lacked morality—he just needed a better reward.

His bottom line was flexible.

Without warning, Luke, who had been sitting motionless, suddenly opened his eyes.

For a brief moment, golden light burst from them, as bright as the sun.

The glow gradually faded, his pupils remaining golden for about half a minute before returning to their usual dark hue.

Luke lowered his head and flipped his right hand. A golden radiance pulsed beneath his skin, dancing like liquid flame.

He clenched his fist, and the light disappeared, absorbed back into his body.

"The Holy Light in my body takes up almost four-fifths... No wonder it's called Apokalypse. The cost, though... Damn. They actually require nuclear materials? It really is nuclear fusion, just miniaturized. And once it's launched, it's permanent... A sun that never sets..."

"The Sun Never Sets"—that's what Paladins dreamed of. Releasing multiple Pearl of Apocalypse in succession, filling the sky with golden suns that never fade.

"First problem: money. Second: where the hell do I get nuclear materials? You can't just buy that kind of thing, even with cash."

Scratching his head, Luke took another pull at the gacha.

His breathing, which had just calmed down, immediately became rapid again.

"What the hell?! Am I really this lucky?!"
