Chapter 102 - Chapter 102

The story of Avengers 1 begins with the god of mischief, Loki, who faked his death at the end of Thor, forging an alliance with the Chitauri under the orders of Thanos.

One seeks to rule Earth and prove his honor as the prince of Asgard.

The other follows Thanos's command to retrieve the Cosmic Cube from Earth.

At the end of Captain America, after an intense battle between Tony Stark and the leader of Hydra, the Cosmic Cube fell into the sea. It was later recovered by Tony's father, Howard Stark, and his men before being handed over to S.H.I.E.L.D. It is now in the hands of Nick Fury.

This led to Loki launching a surprise attack on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s underground lab, where he forcibly seized the Cosmic Cube right in front of Fury.

Loki's plan? To harness the unparalleled space-warping power of the Cosmic Cube, open a portal above Earth, and lead the Chitauri army to invade.

Fury, realizing the gravity of the situation, urgently assembled his long-planned team of misfit heroes: the billionaire playboy Tony Stark, the unstable Hulk, the old-school Captain America, the lethal Black Widow, the sharpshooter Hawkeye, and, of course, Thor—the god of thunder—who came for Loki.

Thus, the Avengers were officially formed.

Their first mission? Hunt down Loki. And they succeeded, capturing him alive.

However, the cunning trickster only pretended to surrender. With perfect timing, he activated a space portal over New York. Within moments, tens of thousands of Chitauri soldiers poured through. The Battle of New York had begun!

Naturally, the movie ended in victory.

After an epic fight, the heroes managed to shut down the space portal, stopping the Chitauri invasion and crushing Loki's ambitions of ruling Earth. More importantly, Thanos's grand scheme of gathering the Infinity Stones was derailed—at least for now.

Thanos suffered heavy losses. Not only did he fail to obtain the Cosmic Cube, but he also lost Loki's scepter. One could only imagine what was going through his mind.

As a result of this battle, three of the six Infinity Stones—each containing immense power—ended up on Earth:

Space Stone: Grants the ability to teleport and manipulate space freely, hidden within the Cosmic Cube.

Mind Stone: Allows control over others' thoughts and enhances mental abilities, hidden within Loki's scepter.

Time Stone: Grants mastery over time itself and is currently safeguarded by the Ancient One.

"Two Infinity Stones will be exposed during the Battle of New York… That's my chance to strike," Luke thought to himself.

If he could obtain just one, it would be a massive game-changer! Not only would he disrupt Thanos's infamous "Sunset Snap" ten years down the line, but he'd also gain unimaginable power.

"When the time comes, I'll make my move in the chaos… Whether I get the Space Stone or the Mind Stone, I'll be set. My power will skyrocket instantly."

Luke rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "But without enough strength, all the scheming in the world is meaningless. First and foremost, I need the capital to play the game. Strength is something you never have too much of… Speaking of which, I think I can draw from the magic box again this month. Oh, and since Ross isn't around, that means—"

At that thought, Luke quickly pulled up the system interface in his mind.

Sure enough, with Ross out of sight, the price of the magic box hadn't gone up!

It was still the same $500 per box as last time.

However, the purchase cap remained at 100 per month—some things just couldn't be changed.

"Damn it, you're as stingy as Spike," Luke muttered.

Without wasting time, he immediately bought 100 magic boxes. Jackpot!

"Only cost me $50,000, but this is gonna pay off big time. TX—no, the system—just took a fat L."

In an instant, 100 sleek black magic boxes materialized before him, neatly stacked in a pile.

"It's that time again…"

Luke rubbed his hands together, excitement gleaming in his eyes.

Last time, he had insane luck—he basically hit the lottery. He even scored eight skill books from his ten-round guarantee! If this had happened back before he transmigrated, he'd be bragging about it for life.

This time… what would his luck bring?

Facing the east, Luke took a deep breath, his expression solemn. He bowed three times, following his sacred ritual:

"Martha, grant me your strength!!"

Then, he started warming up—first a set of radio exercises, then eye exercises.

Finally, he recharged 80,000 dollars into the system.

Metaphysical setup: complete.

"System, now's the time! Start drawing!!"

Luke stared blankly at the results for about a full minute.

"…The hell is Continuous Stab? That's a common Ghost Swordsman skill, isn't it?"

He wasn't entirely sure—his memory was a little foggy.

It had been nearly a year and a half since he last played Dungeon & Fighter. Back then, he played religiously, grinding every day until his fatigue bar hit zero. But now, that was just a distant memory. His level 30 Adventure Group? Long gone. That life was over—he was in an entirely different world now.

"This roll kinda sucked," Luke sighed, feeling a bit disappointed.

In DNF, every major class had four to five different specializations, but they also shared some basic skills. Unfortunately, shared skills were usually pretty mediocre.

Continuous Stab was just that—a basic Ghost Swordsman move. In reality, it was nothing more than a rapid sequence of forward thrusts.

After testing it out a bit, Luke confirmed that there were no hidden buffs or unique variations to the skill.

"Stay calm, stay calm… Don't let it get to you," he told himself. The first roll was bad, but he wasn't about to lose his cool.

"Try again."

[Formula: Basic Hardener]

"Wait… What's this?"

Luke blinked as he picked up the new item.

Reading the description, his eyes lit up.

"Basic Hardener Formula: A technology that increases the hardness of any material when mixed in."

"Wait, isn't this a DNF crafting material? Hell yeah! This is good stuff!"

In DNF, hardeners were essential for equipment crafting. By mixing them with other materials, gear could be made stronger.

His mind raced with possibilities.

What if I mix this with adamantium?

If it worked, his equipment could become even tougher than before. Once his warehouse was fully repaired, he'd have Ross run some tests.

Things from the DNF world might have insane potential here…

And this was just the Basic Hardener.

In DNF, there were stronger variants—Low-Level, Mid-Level, High-Level, and even Special Hardener. If he could get those…

Luke smirked, picturing the future—a road paved with adamantium, him piloting an EVA, his entire body encased in vibranium…

Then, reality kicked back in.

Still, his mood was lifted. Humming a tune, he drew his next batch.

Seconds later, he froze.

"Wait… No way. No way."

His eyes locked onto a new skill book.
