'...'
His mind went blank.
What did she say? My clothes? Now?
Sunny wasn't daft. At most times, he wouldn't get hints dropped by Nephis or the teasing she and Effie would do, but now that he's spent a lot of time with Nephis, she knew what she wanted.
He shook his head, getting rid of his unwanted thoughts.
No, Sunny. She's drunk. You can't.
He looked back at Nephis, and studied her current situation. Before coming to a quick conclusion.
There isn't a single thought going on in that head.
She stared at him back, waiting, her fingers still curled around the hem of his shirt.
... Yup.
He needed to move.
To do something other than stand there.
So, with great effort, he exhaled sharply and grabbed her wrist, prying her fingers away from his clothes.
"Nephis," he said, voice strained. "Go to sleep."
She pouted, unhappy from his response. A blind man could see that she wanted to do more then just sleep.
"But I don't want to," she mumbled, "I'm having fun."
Sunny clenched his jaw.
Don't make this any harder then it has to be, Neph.
"You need to rest, you're too drunk." he muttered.
Not wanting to continue this conversation before it leads to him losing control, he turned away from her and pretending to focus on the counter.
There was nothing on the counter.
He's staring at nothing.
Behind him, Nephis swayed slightly, her arms swinging slightly as nothing was balancing them. Then, to his horror, she suddenly "collapsed" forward, wrapping her arms around him from behind once more.
...Soft?
Sunny tensed as her warmth pressed against his back. Her chin came to rest on his head due to their immense height difference.
"Mmmmm..." She slowly rubbed her face on his head. "Shoo cute..."
I'm not cute..!
"Nephis."
She lowered his head, nuzzling into his neck. "Mmm?"
"Stop that."
She giggled. "Stop what?"
"You rubbing against my head like a damn cat."
Sunny closed his eyes.
"You're soft," Nephis murmured, her fingers lightly tracing patterns over his stomach. "And warm. And…" She paused, exhaling softly.
"You smell nice."
His grip on the counter tightened.
"Nephis," he tried again, his voice dangerously low.
"Mmm…" She hummed, ignoring him completely. Then, suddenly, she whispered,
"Sunny, do you like this?"
Tch. If I say the truth, then she'll for sure continue this.
A sharp pain twisted inside his chest, growing more intense with every second he resisted.
It was demanding an answer, tearing into him with invisible claws.
Sunny gritted his teeth.
"Yes," he finally admitted through clenched teeth.
Nephis let out a soft breath, pleased. "I knew it~"
Sunny squeezed his eyes shut, embarrased in the moment.
He wanted to throw himself out the window.
She moved again, shifting slightly so that her lips brushed against his ear. "You're tremblingggg…" she murmured.
"Because you're crushing me," he muttered, hoping she would take the hint.
Of course, Nephis ignored his cry for help.
Instead, she hugged him tighter, pressing her body flush against his.
Doesn't she know what she's doing..? If this is a punishment for yesterday, I'll gladly ta- Gods, No Sunny! Get your head out the gutter!
She chuckled against his skin. "Sunnnyyy… Your face is red~"
"Shut up," he muttered.
"Nope."
Without any warning, she grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the couch.
Against his will, he felt his body being pulled with great strength that he doubts he could come out of.
"Neph-"
She flopped down onto the cushions, dragging him with her.
Sunny barely caught himself before he collapsed on top of her. Groaning quietly, he pushed himself upwards.
Nephis lay beneath him, her silver hair sprawled all over the couch. She laughed, looking up at him with bright, mischievous eyes. With a tingle of lust.
"You're so tense," she mused, poking his cheek. "Relax a little, Sunny. You need to loosen up."
Tense? It's your fault. How am I supposed to loosen up when you're drunk and acting so much more different?
Nephis, tired of being at the bottom, pushing herself up on her elbows.
"Hey, Sunny," she said suddenly.
He turned his head, wary.
She tilted her head, her silver hair cascading over her shoulder. "Would you carry me to bed if I asked?"
Sunny froze.
His eyes narrowed. "You can walk."
She smiled lazily. "Mmm… I don't think so. My legs feel funny."
Sunny glared at her.
What a liar.
Still…
He sighed.
Without another word, he leaned forward and scooped her up into his arms in a princess carry.
Nephis slightly yelped in surprise.
Then, slowly, she smiled and curled into him.
"You're so strong," she murmured, resting her head against his shoulder. "And comfy…"
Sunny suppressed a laugh.
But before he took another step, Nephis suddenly nuzzled against his neck and whispered.
"Hey, Sunny… do you love me?"
He tilted his head, as if he was confused.
What kind of question…?
Without hesitation, he bluntly answered.
"Yeah."
Nephis drew lines across his arms as she continued her barrage of questions.
"Likeee… how much?"
Wh- ???
Sunny looked down at the princess with a confused look. His eyebrows were furrowed, his eyes tightened.
Nephis stared back at the knight in shining armor, with a sort of melancholic look.
With a sigh and an invisible face palm, he answered.
"I love you like crazy. If there was a scale of 1-10, mine wouldn't even be there."
Nephis looked.. surprised? Was she not aware of how much he truly loved her?
"…Really?"
"Yes, really. You know my flaw, I can't lie. So why would I lie about something about that?"
She paused for a second, pondering over something. Then, she let out a small smile in content.
Nephis reached up and brushed her fingers over his cheek.
"Good," she whispered.
Then, with a soft sigh, she buried her face in his neck again.
After a long moment, he took a deep breath, steadied himself, and finally carried her to bed.
