don't ask about the sudden weather change, becuse i don't know the answer either i'm just doing things you guys want

Sunny shifted under the blankets, his mind still affected by the disease known as 'sleep'.

The warmth beside him was familiar - so familiar that he almost didn't react to it.

Almost.

Then, realization dawned. He clearly knew who was next to him.

His eyes snapped open.

…Silver hair spilled across the pillow next to him.

Nephis was still asleep, curled up beneath the blankets, her breathing slow and even.

The sight of her, relaxed and peaceful, was almost enough to distract him from the fact that

..Cute. Oh, this happened.

No matter how much Sunny wakes up with Nephis, he'll truly never handle it. It's such a dream to even close to her, and he's freely sleeping with him.

Carefully, he pulled himself away from her, sitting up. The room was quiet, save for the faint rustling of fabric as he moved.

Then, he noticed it.

The light streaming through the window… looked different.

Whiter than usual. Like a different shade of white, milky even.

A strange sense of unease crept up his spine.

Sunny hesitated, then turned his head toward the window.

What is making this world so white?-

What he saw made him freeze.

Snow.

A lot of it.

The entire world outside was blanketed in thick, endless white. The rooftops, the streets, even the trees.

All were buried beneath layers of soft, glistening petals.

Sunny stared.

.

.

.

Then, slowly, he leaned back-

.

.

.

And fell right off the bed.

The impact jolted him fully awake, his neurons firing up and his eyes widening.

His breath was uneven as he lay there, sprawled out on the floor, his mind racing.

For a moment, all he could see was white.

White streets. White skies. White towers stretching endlessly into the distance.

'I-It can't be. He couldn't of come all the way here.' Antarctica, the southern campaign that had costed millions of lives. And right now, it looked parallel to the sight of the Winter Beast descending into human land.

No, that's obviously not real..

Still, his fingers twitched against the wooden floor as he forced himself to breathe.

It was just snow.

That was all.

Nothing more.

Internally, he sighed and rubbed a hand over his face.

He groaned and pressed his palms against his eyes.

Gods, Sunny. It's december, so obviously it's gonna snow.

Then-

A soft groan came from the bed. It was so distant but still could be heard due to the quiet atmosphere in the room.

Sunny blinked.

Nephis stirred, shifting slightly under the blankets.

Then, with a quiet exhale, she slowly opened her eyes.

The moment she did, her expression twisted into a grimace.

"Ugh…" She clutched her head, wincing.

Sunny chuckled lightly. "Yeah, that's what you get."

She blinked groggily, then turned her head to look at him.

Her silver eyes were still hazy with sleep, but as soon as she registered his presence, her brows furrowed slightly.

Then, her gaze trailed downward.

Sunny realized, a bit too late, that he was still sitting on the floor, shirtless, looking up at her from where he had fallen.

Nephis stared at him.

.

He stared back.

.

A long silence stretched between them.

Then, finally, she spoke.

"…Why are you on the floor?"

Sunny scowled. "I fell."

She squinted at him, still clearly struggling to wake up. Then, slowly, she sat up - only to immediately clutch her head again.

A sharp breath escaped her lips.

"Ugh," she groaned. "Everything hurts."

Sunny crossed his arms. "Well, yeah. You drank a lot."

Nephis let out a low sound of displeasure, pressing her fingers against her temple. "I don't remember drinking that much."

Sunny raised an eyebrow. "You don't remember tackling me? Or purring in my ear? Or clinging to me all night like some kind of oversized cat?"

Nephis stilled.

Slowly, she turned her head to look at him again.

Her expression was unreadable.

Then, after a moment, she exhaled and muttered, "…That does sound like something I'd do."

Sunny groaned and let his head fall back against the floor.

'Unbelievable.'

Nephis sighed, rubbing her temples.

"Do you have anything for this?" she asked, her voice slightly hoarse.

Sunny pushed himself up with a grunt. "Maybe. Hold on."

Still scowling, he stood and walked toward the kitchen. The cold air, that was alreasy cold enough feel 10x worse, brushed against his skin, making him shiver slightly.

As he rummaged through the cabinets, he heard Nephis shifting behind him, presumably trying to gather herself.

"…Why is there so much snow?" she asked, her voice quieter.

"Because it's December. Why else?"

"…Oh," She spoke, her tone slightly sluggish, "Right."

Then, in a much softer voice, she asked, "Are you okay?"

Sunny's hands stilled.

The sight of all that snow had sent something cold crawling through his chest. Even now, he could hear the faint screams of cries, and pleads of help in his mind.

"Yeah," he said finally, turning back toward her. "Just… wasn't expecting it."

Nephis watched him carefully.

For a moment, he thought she was going to say something else.

But then, she only nodded and leaned back against the pillows, closing her eyes.

"Good," she murmured.

Sunny exhaled.

He turned back to the counter, shaking his head.

'What a morning.'
