Chapter 53 - Leaving Asgard

"Impossible." As soon as Tohka spoke, two voices answered simultaneously. Both Thor and Tohka spoke out in opposition at the same time.

"Eh?" At this point, Odin frowned. If it was just Tohka, he could understand, but now Thor was opposing it as well. This was a bit unexpected. "This little brat, didn't you hear everything I said before? I didn't ask you to marry her, just to have her as a legitimate wife." But now that even Thor was opposing it, and considering that Odin had just schemed against him, he couldn't say much more. Finally, he had to compromise: "Fine, since both of you oppose it, forget it. But my condition is that you must be the publicly recognized guardian of Asgard. When we face a crisis, you must intervene."

"Okay, I can accept that." After hearing Odin's words, Tohka didn't refuse this time. The request wasn't unreasonable and was within her acceptance range. As for marriage, just thinking about it gave her the chills.

"Remember your oath, this is the proof of your position as Asgard's guardian. With this, you can call Heimdall at any time and have him use the Bifrost to transport you." Odin then handed Tohka a charm as proof, and Tohka didn't hesitate to take it, placing it in her pocket.

"Alright, I'll hand this over to you now." Watching Tohka's actions with satisfaction, Odin tapped his staff. Then, the complex arrays surrounding the tree disappeared.

As the arrays vanished, Tohka noticed that her connection with the Kabbalah Tree of Life was growing stronger. Then, Odin and Thor saw a brilliant light suddenly radiate from Tohka. Meanwhile, the giant tree that had stood for countless years in the distance began to glow, following her. The massive trunk started moving toward the three of them, shrinking as it approached, until it was a fist-sized symbol before them. Then, to Odin and Thor's astonishment, it entered Tohka's forehead and vanished from their sight.

"How do you feel?" At that moment, Odin looked at Tohka nervously, fearing any potential issues. The power of this thing was no joke. Although it had been dormant for countless years, when it erupted, its power would be terrifying. This was also one of the reasons Odin wanted to give it to Tohka—this was a hot potato. Their ancestors had tried countless ways to wield its power but failed, and there was no telling when it might suddenly explode, potentially affecting the Nine Realms. As for handing it over, who knew if others would want it, and if something went wrong, it could become a huge problem.

"Yeah, I feel nothing." At that moment, Tohka opened her eyes. She realized that after the symbol entered her body, there was no further reaction. No matter how much she called for it, nothing happened. She could only sigh in frustration. It seemed that in order to use this power, she needed certain preconditions. At least for now, she couldn't control it.

At the same time, deep within Tohka's consciousness, a girl in black armor, who had been sleeping on a throne, suddenly opened her eyes. Looking at the symbol before her, glowing with rainbow colors, she was first stunned, then smiled with satisfaction. "This little girl did quite well, finding the Kabbalah Tree of Life so quickly. Hmm, looks like I'll be able to go out soon. At least I won't have to wait for her to be in danger or lose control of her emotions. By the way, what's going on in the outside world? Are the people there really that weak? How is it that the girl hasn't suffered any fatal injuries yet? Tch, if I'd known, I would have played with the guy who came last time."

After speaking, the girl in black armor stretched lazily and then closed her eyes again. As she fell back to sleep, the entire space returned to calm, with only the Kabbalah Tree of Life floating there, releasing a faint glow. As this glow spread, Tohka's consciousness also underwent changes.

What happened here, Tohka herself had no idea. She had now returned with Odin and Thor to the magnificent palace, and she was attending Odin's feast. As the guardian invited by Odin, she had to meet with other people from Asgard. However, Tohka didn't care about that and found an empty place to eat the food from another world. But to avoid being talked about, she subtly released her powerful energy, making sure everyone could sense it. This way, she avoided a lot of trouble, and the young men who came to chat were all ignored.

"Alright, since you want to leave, we won't keep you." After the feast, Tohka asked to return, as she didn't intend to stay longer in Odin's domain. After all, who knew what other methods he might use. She was 100% sure that the old man still had some ulterior motives. So, Thor came to send her off, "Also, please tell Jane for me. The chaos caused by Loki has just settled, and I can't leave now, so ask her not to wait for me. I'll contact her once I return. And, by the way, that charm you have can actually be used as a communication device."

"I understand, goodbye then." Then, Tohka stepped into the array and vanished from Asgard.

"Has she left?" Just as Tohka disappeared, Odin walked out from behind and approached Thor.

"Father, why did you do this? Don't you believe in our power?" At that moment, Thor looked at his father, the Norse god Odin, with confusion. He voiced his doubts. In his eyes, Tohka was strong, but she was just one person. He believed that when disaster struck, it should be up to him and the others. Moreover, giving something so precious to Tohka—though he wasn't stingy—was a matter of public and private distinction as the heir to the throne, so he still had to consider Asgard's interests.
