Chapter 176 - Chapter 175: The Follow-up of Super Spider

"You've already returned to Earth and reunited with Mary Jane?" Peter asked.

Peter was aware that Super Spider and Mary Jane had been living together—he had seen it in the animation—but later, Super Spider was taken to Counter-Earth and had been there ever since.

He didn't actually know what happened afterward, as reality and animation often have discrepancies. Besides, the animation hadn't even finished!

Super Spider-Man nodded. Seeing that Peter seemed genuinely interested in his experiences, he helplessly began to share his story.

As Super Spider-Man recounted his tale, Peter grew more and more surprised.

Super Spider-Man's experiences completely exceeded Peter's original understanding!

According to Super Spider-Man, his experiences before heading to Counter-Earth were almost identical to the 1994 Spider-Man animated series that Peter remembered.

The only difference was that he hadn't experienced the subsequent Secret Wars, nor had he joined other Spider-Men from various universes to fight against Spider-Carnage.

In the 1994 Spider-Man animation, the Green Goblin stole a device from the Spot that could open portals to other universes. During the battle between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin, Mary Jane was caught in the crossfire and sucked into a dimensional portal, becoming lost in the multiverse.

At the end of the 1994 Spider-Man animation, after defeating Spider-Carnage, Spider-Man set out with Madame Web to search for Mary Jane.

However, the story was different in the Earth-751263 universe. Super Spider saved Mary Jane at the critical moment, and the two successfully married as they had planned.

After the wedding, Super Spider rejoined the Daily Bugle, taking photos for J. Jonah Jameson (who, in this universe, was not too bad—a sharp tongue but a soft heart, though occasionally unreasonable).

Then came the plot from the Super Spider animation. JJJ's son, the famous astronaut John Jameson, piloted a space shuttle to Counter-Earth, but Venom and Carnage sneaked aboard.

Super Spider tried to stop them but was mistakenly accused of sabotage.

To clear his name, he "borrowed" a space shuttle from S.H.I.E.L.D. and set off alone—Spider-Man and S.H.I.E.L.D. were relatively familiar in the 1994 version, having cooperated several times, such as when capturing the Chameleon.

Upon arriving at Counter-Earth, Super Spider discovered that the planet was inhabited by humanoid animals transformed by the High Evolutionary. The High Evolutionary maintained social order through robotic police forces and the elite Knights of Wundagore.

Initially, Super Spider didn't want to get involved and only aimed to bring John Jameson home. However, he was gradually drawn into helping the oppressed humans resist the High Evolutionary.

During this time, he befriended Counter-Earth's Green Goblin and Counter-Earth's Vulture—both of whom were good people in this universe—and fought alongside Counter-Earth's Kraven the Hunter and Electro.

In short, his experiences on Counter-Earth were no less thrilling than those on his original Earth.

Eventually, he did return to his home planet instead of staying on Counter-Earth.

After the High Evolutionary was defeated for the first time, under the leadership of Tiger King, Counter-Earth established a new government where humans and humanoid animals coexisted harmoniously.

However, just when everything seemed to be improving, the High Evolutionary returned stronger than ever.

After a grueling battle, Super Spider finally defeated the High Evolutionary, killing him and permanently resolving Counter-Earth's crisis.

Afterward, he returned to Earth with John Jameson. With John's explanation, Super Spider's name was cleared, and he once again became the beloved Spider-Man, reuniting with Mary Jane.

Finally, he shyly admitted that he and Mary Jane had recently started making parenting plans, preparing to welcome the fruit of their love.

Hearing Super Spider's story, Peter felt deeply gratified.

Although Spider-Man Unlimited ended abruptly, it was still one of the better animations he had seen.

Now that the animation's protagonist had a happy ending, Peter couldn't help but feel joyful.

As for Mrs. Vermin—

In truth, Mrs. Vermin was a rat person, also known as Lady Rat.

Based on the dialogue in the animation, compared to those other bizarre-looking anthropomorphic animals, Mrs. Furming is undoubtedly a beauty.

Moreover, she is quite bold.

She fell in love with Super Spider at first sight, kissing him passionately the moment they met and boldly declaring that she wanted to marry him.

Unfortunately, while the fallen flower has feelings, the flowing water remains indifferent.

Super Spider already has Mary Jane, so naturally, he can no longer be as flirtatious as before.

He has matured a lot now and has become more responsible.

So, this unrequited love was probably resolved long ago, back when Super Spider was still on Planet Counter.

Peter did not dwell on this joke either.

True to his word, he began teaching Super Spider magic, starting with the beginner-level "Rings of Raggadorr."

He had previously tried to teach Gwen this spell, but she didn't seem to have much magical talent. Even after a long time, she failed to grasp the basics, so he had to give up.

As for Super Spider…

Peter wasn't sure either.

But in any case, it was just an attempt. If he couldn't learn it, it wouldn't be a big deal—no one would lose anything.

Thus, the two began their lessons—one teaching, the other learning.

Since Gwen discovered her lack of magical talent, she lost interest in magic. Seeing them practice, she decided to focus on bonding with the Venom suit instead.

Her synchronization with the Venom suit had grown significantly, and over the past six months, the suit had devoured two symbiotes from different universes, making it even stronger. This further enhanced Gwen's overall combat abilities.

However, whether the Venom suit had genuinely become more obedient or was simply lying dormant remained uncertain. Either way, its influence on Gwen hadn't increased, nor did it pose any additional threat.

It acted like a well-behaved little child.

Peter, confident in his ability to control the life and desires of the Venom suit, remained cautiously vigilant but took no further action.

Just like that, about an hour passed.

While guiding Super Spider through meditation exercises, Peter opened his eyes.

Super Spider, sitting beside him, immediately stood up as well.

This earned a helpless shake of the head from Peter.

He figured Super Spider probably lacked magical talent, too.

When teaching him the "Rings of Raggadorr" earlier, he had quickly mastered the hand gestures, but when it came to sensing magical energy, he couldn't even take the first step.

So, Peter had him clear his mind and focus on sensing magic.

Yet, after more than half an hour, there was no progress at all.

Judging by his reaction just now, he probably hadn't been focusing properly—because if he had truly cleared his mind, why was he paying so much attention to Peter's actions?

However, now wasn't the time to dwell on that.

Peter turned his gaze to the empty space beside him.

The air rippled, and soon, a portal opened.

Spider-Man 2099 had returned!
