Meanwhile, as Baki' group, including Iron Man, continued to rapidly hurl around in deep space, inching ever so closer to the open portal...
Back on Planet Earth.
A certain figure could be seen now standing still, looking up into the sky. Deep and heavy pants escaped from his mouth, obviously tired from the drawn-out war. Blood and sweat trickled down his body, but seeing the Chitauri collapse one after another, both shock and relief appeared in his eyes. Yet his eyes remained on the portal.
That tired look soon changed to that of determination. Reaching toward his ear, which was a communication device, he spoke into it.
"Close the portal.", The figure issued, speaking into his responder. He was wearing a blue and white spandex outfit. A red-white-blue shield currently rested on one of his shoulders. This person was everyone's favorite, and also the first Avenger, Captain America.
"You think he'll make it, Cap?", A second voice said, swiftly arriving beside him. His quiver had been completely emptied during the entire fighting. An equally exhausted look appeared on his face. But seeing the Chitauri now fallen, he knew he could sigh in relief. Slinging his black bow back on his back, the figure arrived next to Captain America. He was Hawkeye.
"He better. Tony's not one to lose out like this.", Captain America responded, remaining hopeful. His eyes were glued on the portal. Nothing had come out of it yet.
Likewise, Hawkeye had his eyes remain on the portal too.
Toward Stark Tower, near one of the open terraces, a rather sci-fi looking device could be seen, which held the Tesseract in its center. It was shooting up a crystal-blue beam of energy, keeping the portal open. Raw, unfiltered, energy. But in reality, this blue cube held one of the Infinity Stones, the Space Stone. Of the Infinity Stones, the Space Stone was one not to be messed with. On top of being an unlimited power source, it allowed its user to travel at free will, wherever one pleased. They could open portals from one side of a galaxy to another in a mere instant. One could easily trigger a game of cat-and-mouse, being almost impossible to find. It had the ability to teleport, but was millions times stronger.
But the Avengers didn't know that part at this time. They didn't know the cube held the Space Stone within. All they knew it was that it was an unlimited power source, and now it could make portals once it reached a certain threshold. One enough to allow an alien invasion.
This machine was currently operating by itself. Apart from the scientist, Doctor Selvig, who was monitoring it, there was a second figure standing nearby. It was a red-headed woman. She was in a full biker suit, making her curves very alluring. She was a very beautiful woman, but few dared to mess with her. She was the Black Widow, another Avenger. She was separated from the group, as she held Loki's Scepter in her hands.
Reaching her hand toward her ear, she heard a voice come through.
"Close the portal.", The voice said, which came from Captain America.
Hearing the order, Black Widow took her magical stick of doom and suddenly thrust it into the device itself. Quite literally, in both fashion senses. The Avengers didn't know at the time that Loki's Scepter also carried an Infinity Stone. Along with these two, there were three stones altogether during this scene. Loki's Scepter carried the Mind Stone, easily capable of bending truth and lies. Or taking over someone's mind. In this case, the Scepter saw its target, and ignored the blue energy outright. Fwooom!
With one more thrust, the Scepter struck the Tesseract, and sent out a pulse of energy, straight upward. It was a very quick flash of light, and once it reached the portal, the energy rapidly dissipated.
Once the constant stream of energy ceased to be, the portal began to close.
During this time, another Avenger, who went by the name Thor, aka the God of Thunder, descended, following a thunderous clap. He arrived next to Captain America and Hawkeye. He too, had his eyes on the rapidly closing portal.
Yet just the portal closed up all the way, not one, not two, but five shadowy blurs swiftly flew out of it, not appearing to stop.
"Son of a gun.", Captain America responded, seeing Iron Man safe and sound, and back on their side. Yet his gaze was immediately drawn to the four figures beside Iron Man. The brown-haired man especially. He was holding onto Iron Man, acting as though he had saved him, allowing Iron Man to make it safely through the portal. But if there was anything odd in this picture, it was the three pink-haired girls together with him. They seemed very out of place.
Before Captain America could do anything, he heard Black Widow speak into his ear device.
"We've got four unknowns. Tony is safe, for now. But be careful.", Black Widow said.
"Understood. We will keep watch out.", Captain America responded. He then turned his responder off.
As for Black Widow, she sighed, and sat on her butt, seeing the war over.
Back where Captain America was, his eyes remained on the rapidly falling figures. Hawkeye took this moment to approach him. His eyes also remained glued at the skies above.
"Such a twist of fate eh, Cap? I didn't think Tony would come back with some aliens in tow. You think they're friendlies?", Hawkeye questioned, unsure. Seeing them not immediately attacking Iron Man while he was down, Hawkeye didn't assume an attack stance. He had his hand rested on his bow for a quick response, however.
"I don't know. They definitely aren't Chitauri. Do they look familiar, Thor?", Captain America asked as the two heard a clap of thunder strike their ears. With a swift blur, a third figure descended from a nearby half-collapsed building. He was donned in a full suit of armor, appearing otherworldly. Which was true, as this man wasn't from Planet Earth. He was Thor, the God of Thunder, hailing from Asgard.
"They at least appear Human. Those three pink-haired women have a tail, to which I have not seen out of the Nine Realms.", Thor responded.
"A tail, seriously? And if it isn't recognizable even by you Thor, that's saying something. ", Hawkeye mused.
"There is something more pressing, though. They aren't stopping.", Thor quickly responded. Sure enough, the five blurs grew quicker and quicker. Hastening their falling speed, it steadily increased. The forces of gravity were playing their game. At this time, the trio heard a loud and powerful roar.
"ROARRR!", The loud roar yelled out, echoing around the entire street they were in. Coming out of some buried rubble, slabs of cement toppled onto their sides, only to reveal a hulking and giant green figure. This figure was very muscular. Jumping around, it quickly descended to where the trio was. Captain America, reacting quickly to this, swiftly spoke out.
"Hulk, get them to safety. We'll save the questioning for later!", Captain America issued.
Hearing Captain America say that, the figure paused. This person was indeed the massive Hulk, spanning several feet high over the others. He was entirely green, thanks to the mutation of the gamma rays that his body had been experimented with. In reality, he was Bruce Banner, a like-minded scientist to Tony Stark and a fellow Avenger.
The Hulk paused, and looked back at Captain America. Smiling, the Hulk did his iconic grin.
He then let out another loud roar, and started jumping around, making his movement seem like a child's play. He ascended by hopping over collapsed piles of dirt and torn-apart buildings. Higher and higher, he spotted a familiar nearby tower, which would eventually become the Avengers Tower. He used its windows as a foothold, and ascended even higher into the skies. This movement seemed to cause time to slow down with the five coming ever so closer to the ground.
With one large leap, the Hulk leapt midair, targeting the group. Reaching one of his arms out, he successfully grabbed the brown-haired man, who was holding onto Iron Man in one arm, and the three pink-haired girls in the other. That was Baki, who was of course, me.
Step one, accomplished. We made it safely through the closing portal. Originally, Iron Man would have simply drifted into the portal right before it closed due to plot armor. This time around, it played out a little differently. Where we spawned in, we were close enough to feel the explosions from the mothership. Those residual energy waves created a big enough force that propelled us forward, allowing me to grab onto Iron Man. We were able to make it through the portal before it closed.
I am not sure if I still have God's protection now that we've made it back to Planet Earth, but it was a pretty big struggle trying to hold onto the famous Iron Man, as well as Lala and her two sisters. Carrying four people around and a heavy metal suit was no joke. If I wasn't already as Baki again, I would have not likely made it through this ordeal.
But now, I was now in the hands of Hulk. He could take it from here.
If there was one thing to say about this, the Hulk is very...Hulk-y. Let's just leave it at that. You don't want to be hugged by him, haha!
Joking aside, I feigned being unconscious. All I did was crack open one of my eyes for a brief second to ensure we were safe. I saw the three sisters' condition too, and unlike me, they appeared genuinely unconscious, likely from the passing through the portal at mach-like speeds. To be honest, I'm surprised that I wasn't fully unconscious here. I did feel my mind wavering, though.
To play it safe, or maybe it was the tiredness that was striking against my body, my mind felt like it wanted to slip, so I let it. I passed out right then and there while the Hulk carried us back down into the streets.
The Hulk landed on the same street where Captain America was. He laid all five of them down, allowing him, as well as Hawkeye and Thor, to get a good look at Baki and the girls.
"Holy shit these girls really do have tails.", Hawkeye cursed, seeing the spade-shaped tails sticking out of Lala, Momo, and Nana.
"Is now really the time to be thinking about that?", Captain America retorted, seeing the shock in Hawkeye's eyes.
"I mean, c'mon, Cap. We won, didn't we? Where's the harm in finding whether or not these guys really are aliens?", Hawkeye responded back. Hearing that, Captain America realized Hawkeye was true to his words. He felt a heavyweight strike against his body, causing him to fall backwards onto his butt. Letting out a deep sigh, he smiled.
"You are right about that. We won.", Captain America spoke out in relief. "We won."
"Do you think they're dead?", Thor asked. His hand, still holding onto his hammer, reached downward. He gave Baki a good poke or two. It was a good thing Baki was presently unconscious right now, or else he would have likely become annoyed by Thor's actions just now. As Thor poked him with his hammer to find any signs of life, the Hulk moved swiftly, taking off Iron Man's helmet. Tony's face was revealed, and pretty badly beaten up. Blood spots oozed out of his face. His eyes remained closed. The Hulk took a jump back, displaying a face of not knowing what to do next.
So the Hulk did what the Hulk knew he could do. Roar.
"ROARRR!", A bellowing roar escaped from the Hulk's mouth. Being this close up, the others became startled. They were really close to him, so the roar was extra loud this time. He even looked at Baki and the girls, seeing if that did the trick. Unfortunately, they still remained unconscious. Iron Man, on the other hand, woke up with a start, letting out a gasp.
"What the hell dude?", Tony exclaimed in shock, seeing the Hulk in his immediate vicinity. It took a second to click, but he realized he was now back down on the streets. He didn't have enough energy to move his body around, so while still in his Iron Man suit, he remained motionless. Still, his eyes were able to see Captain America now sitting off to the side.
"Did we win?", Tony asked.
"We won, Tony. We won.", Captain America replied, nodding his head.
"Hurray! Go team.", Tony joked. "And my back is killing me. Can we all just take a day off and not come into work tomorrow?", Tony continued to joke.
"That depends. Why don't you say that to your new friends? I take it, they ARE friends. Right?", Captain America asked, surprising Tony.
"The hell you goin' on about now, Cap? What friends?", Tony replied. Captain America didn't answer. All he did was reach his hand out, and pointed toward the four individuals who were laid out beside Tony, causing Tony to shift his head to the side. He saw the individuals in question, causing him to blink his eyes.
"Never seen these guys once in my entire life.", Tony immediately retorted. "And trust me. I know just about anyone."
"Oh I won't ever doubt you with those connections of yours, Tony. Here's the kicker. You could have easily been lost inside that portal, but these guys made it so you went through it.", Hawkeye explained. Among the Avengers, his vision was one of the keenest. He could see what was happening in a clear picture, even if it was miles away. He always hits his target, after all. Tony just paused for a moment after hearing Hawkeye say that.
"You tellin' me I was rescued by aliens?", Tony responded, sucking in a cold breath of air.
"It would seem that way, yes. Their breathing is stable. At the very least, they appear alive.", Thor responded with a nod. "And while that may be the case, our work here is not yet finished.", Thor continued reminding everyone.
Everyone then all looked at each other.
"We can't really leave the guys who saved Tony all alone, so who's going to remain behind to watch after them? We still need to secure Loki.", Hawkeye said.
"Oh trust me, Loki's down and out. Big guy, switch places with me alright? Just in case. Fury's going to have a field day with this. I don't mind watching over our new friends.", Black Widow's voice reached the group, dropping in from out of nowhere. Black Widow looked at the Hulk, seemingly understanding of the situation. The Hulk did his iconic grin a second time, and roared. Taking one giant leap into the air, he swiftly made it to the future Avengers Tower, cutting the distance down in an instant.
"I had a feeling it'd be you. There's no way you wouldn't report this to Fury.", Hawkeye retorted, seeing Black Widow now with them.
"Well, they seem harmless. These girls are pretty cute too. If they didn't have those tails I'd say they fit rather well here. That pink hair makes them really striking, though. You never see that kind of hair here.", Black Widow responded.
"Well, like I said before, we can save the comments for later. We need to clean this up. Think you can stand, Tony?", Captain America asked, reaching his hand down. Tony had enough energy to reach his hand out, and grabbed onto it. Steadily and surely, Iron Man stood back up.
"I'm good. I'm good.", Tony replied, taking a moment. "You still alive, Jarvis?", Tony asked.
"I'm always here. Sir.", A voice spoke inside his suit, turning it back on. "Vitals are still safe. Engine capacity is low, but still capable of flight. It should be enough to direct you where you need to go.", Jarvis continued to say.
"And that's enough. Let's kick it.", Tony replied, igniting his thrusters once again. He made sure Baki and the girls weren't in the blaster fire. Flying off first, only the four remained.
"I'll see to it that Loki sees justice. Mark my word.", Thor said to them. He began swinging his hammer around rapidly, and then flew off to the tower.
"Sure is convenient having the ability to fly. We have to go about this the hard way. Shotgun.", Hawkeye said, seeing a car nearby undestroyed. He got in the passenger seat before Captain America reacted.
"Seriously? I don't even have a license.", Captain America responded with a sigh.
"Haha! We'll work on that after this is all cleaned up. Make sure Loki doesn't flee.", Black Widow said, walking off to the side a bit. There was some rubble that was piled up, allowing her to sit on top of it.
"Fine. Fine. Just make sure our new friends don't leave your sight.", Captain America said, running off to the car and got in the driver's seat.
"Oh you don't need to worry about that.", Black Widow responded with a smile. Seeing the rest of the Avengers speed off, Black Widow was now by herself. The smell of metal being burnt tickled her nose. She ignored the iron-y taste inside her mouth that was likely dried up blood. Like the rest, she too had fought hard against the Chitauri. Reaching toward her ears, she activated her responder.
"You getting all this, Fury?", Black Widow asked, looking back down at the black-haired man and the three pink-haired girls resting in the middle of the destroyed street before her. Their chests were steadily moving up and down, signaling that they were breathing. And more importantly, alive.
"You know you're going to have one hell of a clean-up duty from this right, Romanoff? We're going to try and cover this up somehow. We've already had enough knowing extraterrestrials are out there and they even started a damn war with us. And now we even got some unknowns? Not in my books. They're in your care starting today.", Fury's voice came through, only to suddenly get cut-off right after, leaving Black Widow stunned.
"You're seriously putting all of this on me? Why am I not surprised...", Black Widow responded, letting out a sigh. Seeing Fury no longer respond, she knew she was alone now. At least for expenses and all of that, that will be covered by Shield, but she knew she still had to deal with this.
Still, in response, her head shifted back toward the tower that everyone sped off to. A smile crept on her lips.
"At the very least, I know the perfect place to let these guys rest.", Black Widow said, revealing a playful smile.
As she continued to watch over Baki, Lala, Momo and Nana, the rest of the Avengers swiftly arrived at the tower, only to see Loki, beaten senselessly into the ground. He was struggling to even get back up. It was then the rest of the scene from the movie played out, where everyone was in an attack stance, ready to fire at will at Loki. Only this time, the Black Widow was absent from this scene. Loki just paused there, beginning to feel more and more nervous.
"If you don't mind. I think I'll have that drink now.", Loki cheekily replied, only to be ignored by the Avengers.
