Chapter 13 - CHAPTER 13: You Taught me no Mercy

Chaos reigned in the enemy base as Lena stood her ground, the traitor trembling behind her. Suddenly, a villain emerged from the shadows, her presence dark and foreboding. Lena felt a chill run down her spine, but she steeled herself, gripping the traitor's arm tightly.

"Let us out," Lena demanded, her voice steady despite the fear bubbling within her.

The villain laughed, a sinister sound that echoed in the dimly lit room. "Why would I? I can kill you right on the spot if you don't give me that person."

Without hesitation, Lena tightened her grip on the traitor and pushed him forward. "Take him," she said, her voice cold. The traitor's eyes widened in horror as he shouted, "Why you? How dare you give me to this villain!"

The villain's laughter filled the air, a cruel melody. "I didn't know you would hand him over so easily. You're an unexpected person."

Before she could say more, Lena interrupted, her patience wearing thin. "Can I go out now?"

The villain's smile twisted into a sneer. "You thought I would let you go after giving him to me? No, I will still kill you."

With a sudden surge of determination, Lena stepped closer, her movements swift and silent. In one fluid motion, she drew her sword and severed the villain's head before she even realized what was happening. The body crumpled to the ground, and Lena grabbed the traitor's hand, pulling him along as they slipped out of the room.

As they emerged into the chaos outside, Lena noticed the traitor's face had drained of color, his eyes wide with horror. "How can you be so cruel?" he stammered, his voice shaking.

Lena turned to him, her expression cold. "What did you expect? You taught me to have no mercy."

In that moment, a realization washed over her: she was no longer afraid of death. The weight of her choices settled in, but she felt a strange sense of empowerment. They moved through the chaos, the sounds of battle echoing around them. Lena's heart raced as she spotted Yuki, fighting valiantly against a group of enemies. It was clear she was struggling, and Lena's resolve hardened.

"Stay close," she instructed the traitor, dragging him toward Zeff, who was holding his ground against the onslaught. "Zeff!" she called out, urgency in her voice. "Point a gun at him. If he moves an inch, kill him."

The traitor whimpered, a sound reminiscent of a scaredy cat, and Lena couldn't help but feel a flicker of satisfaction. She turned her attention back to the battlefield, adrenaline coursing through her veins.
