Chapter 17 - Awakening the Devouring Dragon Bloodline (4)

[Dragonoid Summoning]

Dragonoids are humans bestowed with dragon abilities by the Dragon Clan. They are known as the Attendants of the Dragon Clan. Some receive the breath of the dragon, the strength of the dragon, the scales (defense) of a dragon, or the Originat of a dragon.

The more abilities a Dragonoid receives from a dragon, the higher its potential and power. But since the extermination of the Dragon Clan, they have all been eliminated as well.

So instead of summoning living Dragonoids, the Host can pull warriors from the past, bringing back Dragonoids who have long since died in history. The Dragonoid that can be drawn depends on luck.

These warriors appear in their strongest state before death, unaffected by wounds, fatigue, or old age.

If they died in battle, they retain knowledge of their final fight, allowing them to counter their past killers if they face them again.

They can remain indefinitely as long as the Host's energy sustains them.

If slain in the present, they do not "die"—instead, they are returned to their original timeline without any memory of being summoned.

Note: Dragonoid strength cannot be more than 15 levels higher than the Host. Also, the Host can summon multiple Dragonoids, but for now, due to the Host's limited strength, only one can be summoned.

[Phantom Step]

The Host's presence becomes indistinguishable from that of a lingering soul, making it impossible for normal beings to sense him.

The moment the Host moves, he fades like a specter, leaving no sound, no scent, and no trace of his existence.

Spiritual beings and undead cannot detect him unless they possess supreme awareness.

The Host can momentarily phase into a semi-spiritual state, allowing him to:

Pass through physical objects like walls, barriers, or weapons.

Become intangible for a brief moment, negating physical attacks.

Avoid death-related abilities, as he exists in a liminal state between life and the afterlife.

This ability is most effective against corporeal enemies but loses effectiveness against pure energy-based attacks.

[Deathbound Recovery]

Unlike normal regeneration, the Host recovers by absorbing death itself.

When surrounded by death—whether it be fallen warriors, dying enemies, or even the Host's own near-death state—the Host's wounds rapidly heal as he pulls vitality from fading souls.

The more death energy in the area, the faster the Host recovers.

When the Host's health drops below a critical point, he temporarily ignores pain and fatigue.

During this time, the Host's speed and strength increase.

After the effect ends, the Host suffers a stamina penalty.

[Death Crescent Slash]

The Host can infuse his weapon, claws, or tail with pure death energy, forming a crescent-shaped slash that travels forward at immense speed. The slash can cut through both physical and spiritual forms, meaning even ghosts, undead, and intangible beings are not safe. Anything struck by the crescent experiences instant decay, causing wounds that resist normal healing.

The Host can adjust the size and intensity of the Death Crescent Slash:

Small and concentrated: Faster and more lethal against a single target.

Wide and destructive: Cuts through multiple enemies at once, making it ideal for large-scale battles.

At higher mastery, the Host can curve the slash mid-flight, making it impossible to predict its trajectory.

Note: The power of this skill depends on the Host's strength—if the Host is weak, the power will be weak; likewise, if the Host is strong, the power will be stronger.

[Reaper Death]

Reaper Death is not a normal weapon; it is a sentient scythe forged from condensed death energy and the remains of fallen Death Lords.

Every swing is infused with pure death, capable of severing not only the body but also the soul of the target.

The more souls Reaper Death claims, the stronger it becomes.

With each slain enemy, the scythe adapts and refines itself, increasing its sharpness, power, and death energy reserves.

When wielding this weapon:

All damage is increased by 20%. X15

Speed is increased by 15%. X15

When Daniel—no, when Drake Vorr read this, he didn't know how much time he had spent reading, but he was shocked by how strong and numerous his skills were. Now, getting stronger wouldn't be hard.

Looking at Dragonoid Summoning, he lightly cursed. If there were no 15-level restriction, it would have been the best skill and his main trump card.

"You shouldn't feel too happy yet," Drax's voice rang out, making Drake look at him in confusion.

"Most of the skills you've been given consume a lot of Originat, so you have to use them wisely, or else..." Drax advised.

Drake looked at Drax. Even though he stopped midway through his explanation, he understood the gist of it.

Looking at his stats, HP, and MP, Drake realized how overpowered he was at this level.

[Issuing Mission]

[Mission]

Objective: Choose a suitable location to build your own Dragon Palace

Dragon Palace: A living fortress tied to Dragon Power, signifying Dragon Territory. [More information will be provided once the Host successfully builds it.]

When Drake saw this, he was confused. Building a Dragon Palace?

"Don't worry. Your job is just to find a location for it," Drax explained. "The system will handle the rest. But you need to pick a secret place—if your palace is destroyed, the penalty will be grievous… or even death itself."

When Drake heard this, he calmed down a bit. It's just picking a location, but that meant he had to search the forest for a good spot.

"Oh, there's good news," Drax said, making Drake wonder what it was.

"Your roar earlier has been heard by every creature on this continent, which means they are now aware that a true dragon is out there."

A/N:

In the subsequent chapters, skill descriptions won't be as detailed as this if there's repetition.

Also, changing Daniel's name to Drake—is that okay, or should I leave it as Daniel in the POV?
