Suddenly, a bright golden-black light shone, causing Drake's vision to blur for a moment. The sudden intensity scared him.
By the time he regained his sight, he was shocked, amazed, and utterly astonished by what stood before him.
A tall golden-black majestic and ancient palace stood in front of Drake. Its walls gleamed with the luster of enchanted stone, and its towering spires pierced the sky like the claws of a great dragon.
Suddenly, a palace-shaped rune appeared in front of Drake.
Ding!
[Host should proceed to drip his blood essence on the rune]
When Drake heard this, he looked towards the rune, as he found the process of how to do this was already in his memories. He proceeded—he controlled his blood essence as he extracted it outside his body through his fingers.
As his drop of blood came from his finger, it took on the form of a dragon as it roared. It then dived into the rune. The rune shone with golden light, and then Drake was surprised by the fact that it dived into his body, then settled at his right chest, taking the form of a black dragon tattoo.
When Drake saw this, he felt angry. Of all places, why did it settle there? Would it be that he wouldn't take off his shirt, for heaven's sake? But there's no way he could avoid it. If he's in battle and that area—the cloth—got cut away by the enemy's attack, isn't it just showing directly that he's related to a dragon?
As he was thinking about this, he suddenly saw that the dragon tattoo had disappeared, making him confused. It was then a surge of information entered his brain, and he was surprised by the fact that the tattoo would only appear when he uses a skill related to the Dragon Palace.
Ding!
[Host should proceed to enter the Devouring Dragon Palace]
When Drake heard this, he proceeded towards the palace. He was curious about the inner layout of the place.
Approaching the Dragon Palace, Drake was met with a pair of colossal doors, forged from unknown steel and adorned with intricate carvings of dragon battles. These doors stood between two massive statues—ancient dragon sentinels that seemed to watch all who passed. Engraved into the archway above, in glowing runes, was the word "Devouring Dragon Palace," marking the palace as the seat of draconic power. He was struck by awe seeing this.
Immediately, Drake got close to the colossal door—
CREAK! BANG!
These colossal doors began to open. The chants and roars of dragons could be heard, as if they were welcoming their emperor. A golden light shone bright as Drake entered the Dragon Palace.
Stepping inside, he entered a Great Hall, a vast chamber with ceilings high enough for even the mightiest of dragons to spread their wings. Golden chandeliers, shaped like dragon claws clutching spheres of light, illuminated the room. The walls were adorned with dragon murals depicting the history of the dragons—great wars, races of dragons.
When Drake saw the dragon murals, he couldn't count them because they were more than a hundred, and they were also of different dragons. He couldn't stop the urge to touch them. When he did, he felt they were alive, making him scared as he quickly withdrew his hand.
After some moments, he touched the mural once again. Then his view changed. He found himself in an unknown battlefield. He could see nothing, but he could smell the reek of blood, and also hear the mournful cries of dragons.
This mournful cry struck sadness into the heart of Drake, and he found himself back at the palace. He sighed, looking above at the ceiling that had the embroidery of a colossal dragon.
What had the dragons done for them to be totally wiped out, not leaving one alive? Is it due to jealousy over their power and bloodline, or had they done something heinous?
This question had been baffling him, because he felt that for such a race to be exterminated, there must be more to it.
Drake looked towards the far end of the hall, where an enormous seat carved from dragon bone and covered with scales sat. It felt as if one wasn't looking at a throne, but at a dragon. The back was adorned with black scales, glimmering like stars.
This was the Dragon Throne, where the master of the Dragon Palace sat overseeing the palace.
Behind the throne was a large mural of a colossal dragon. It wasn't just any dragon—it was the Devouring Dragon. Drake felt it immediately when he laid his eyes on it.
Ding!
[Host should proceed by sitting on the Dragon Throne]
Drake took a step forward as he walked towards the Dragon Throne, proceeding to sit on it.
The entire Dragon Palace lit up with golden light. The eyes of the dragon statues that were outside lit up, looking as if they were alive.
The carvings outside, the murals inside—all lit up with intense light. The large mural of the Devouring Dragon also lit up.
ROAR!!!!!!!
The loud roar of thousands of dragons could be heard. Every mural and carving came alive. Drake was shocked by this, as he saw thousands of small dragon shadows appearing in front of him, filling the hall of the Dragon Palace.
Suddenly, the view of Drake changed, as he found himself in the silent starry sky. A colossal black dragon was above Drake—what its existence spoke was to devour all things. Its eyes were black holes that swallowed all things.
The Devouring Dragon God.
Before Drake could talk, he heard the roar of dragons. Colossal dragons began to appear from the Devouring Dragon God's back. They covered the whole starry sky, making Drake stupefied and shocked by this. He couldn't really see their figures, but he knew they were dragons.
"Greetings to the Dragon Emperor."
The dragon souls knelt down towards Drake, sending another wave of shock through him.
But the next thing that happened made his heart feel like leaping out.
"Greetings, Dragon Emperor."
The Devouring Dragon God knelt down.
"Wait... What are you doing?" Drake was already sweating—a whole God was kneeling before him.
"You need not be afraid, Drake. As a shell of my former self, I am dead—no longer existing in the universe—and so are we all here. You will be the one to lead the new Dragon Clan to the peak. I know the burden is heavy, but we all place our hope in you," the Devouring Dragon God said solemnly.
Drake, who heard this, sighed, looking at the dragons. He could feel their respect and reverence for him—and also the hope they placed in him.
"This is my final gift to you, Drake Vorr," the Devouring Dragon God said in a deep voice. His body began to glow, along with the other dragons, turning into bulbs of light that moved toward Drake's body, fusing with him.
"Remember, Drake—we live in an accursed universe. Nothing ever goes well in it. Always stay focused."
These were the last words of the Devouring Dragon God before Drake found himself back at the palace.
Everything had turned silent. The lights were dim, making it look ominous.
Ding!
[Host should pick a name for the Dragon Clan]
When Drake heard this, his golden eyes turned draconic, shining in the hall. His eyes were swirling like a dragon's. He put his left arm on the throne, resting his head on it.
A large aura was emitted from his body. The aura took the form of Drake's dragon form, with his golden draconic eyes shining.
Drake's lips curled up into a smile.
"Vorr."
ROAR!!!!
