Bale heard the words from beneath his feet, and then he saw Grey clenching his fist as the lightning aura around him flared even brighter—so bright it almost blinded him.
The bolts of lightning grew more consistent, and now everyone could see Grey floating above the ground. His red hair rose, levitating with the currents of energy, and in his hands, bolts of lightning began to form. His eyes blazed white, crackling with raw power.
"And this kid is going to be the one to kick your pitiful arse!" Grey roared. Like a bolt of lightning himself, he shot toward Bale, whose mouth was agape in sheer disbelief—just like everyone else in the room.
Stomping the ground, Grey sent streaks of lightning racing across the floor toward Bale. In response, Bale launched himself backward using a burst of fire magic to evade.
