Chapter 58
"Now that your speed has been taken care of, let's do something about you." Grey smirked as he raised his hand. "Wind Magic! Tornado Wind Blades!"
In an instant, several razor-sharp blades of wind tore through the air, surging toward Bale with such ferocity that dodging them would be nearly impossible. But just before impact, something slammed into the ground in front of Bale, kicking up a cloud of dust—and then, as swiftly as the interruption came, the wind blades were effortlessly shattered.
Grey's brows furrowed in confusion. When the dust began to settle, his eyes widened in disbelief.
"Max?!" he shouted, his voice a mix of shock and rising fury. A thick vein bulged on his temple. "What are you doing, you idiotic fool?!"
But Max didn't answer.
He just stood there, crackling with violent arcs of lightning, his stance battle-ready and eyes vacant.
"Oh, you see… Max isn't exactly home right now," Bale chuckled darkly.
