Eliza and Randy started their walk back to the dog park and Randy's house, even though both were miles away. On their way to the dog park, Eliza and Randy ran into a little puppy and tripped over him. The puppy said, "Hey, what's the big idea?" Randy said, "We're sorry. We didn't see you." The puppy said, "Lots of people don't." Eliza said, "Who are you?" The puppy said, "Ace." Randy said, "Ace, the puppy?" Ace said, "Yes. I roam alone these days." Eliza said, "Well, you can come with us." Randy grabbed Eliza and slammed her against a lamppost. Randy said, "The number of wild dogs on this trip is limited. And my limit is one." Eliza said, "He's coming with us." Eliza double-checked with Ace. Eliza said, "Yes, you can come with us. But there's no turning back. You'll have to be hungry for adventure." Ace said, "And I'm hungry." Eliza said, "Ok, to the dog park." Eliza and Ace walked off, but Randy couldn't believe he was bringing a little puppy.
While walking, Ace talked to Randy and Eliza about what he had done lately. Ace said, "You know, recently, I've worked alone. But it wasn't always that way." Randy looked at Ace and said, "Oh, this sounds good; maybe you should save it." Ace said, "Really?" Randy said, "Yes. For your friends." Ace said, "Oh. Well, I have another story." Randy and Eliza were uninterested in Ace's stories, so Eliza stopped him from talking. Eliza said, "Tell you what. We'll let you tag along. But for now, how about no talking until we get there." Ace thought about it and said, "Ok. Then I'll sing." Randy said, "No, no, no." Ace started singing, and Randy got mad. Randy said, "Stop it." Ace ignored Randy and continued singing. Eliza said, "Will you stop it?" Ace kept singing, and Randy said, "Quit it." Ace kept singing, and Eliza said, "Sssh. Ace, stop singing." Randy was getting madder and tried stopping Ace from singing by covering his mouth, but that didn't stop him from singing. Eliza then kicked Ace into a dumpster, but he kept singing. And since it annoyed them, Eliza and Randy left Ace in the dumpster, singing, while they continued. While Ace's song surrounded them, Ace, Eliza, and Randy continued their walk.
Randy couldn't believe he was stuck keeping a promise to one dog and letting a puppy tag along, so he put a scowl on his face while he walked. Ace walked by Randy while Eliza walked behind them. While they were walking, the song Ace was singing surrounded them. Ace then scowled like Randy, and Randy couldn't believe it, so he tried his best to stay away from Ace. All three took a lunch break, and Randy couldn't understand why Ace and Eliza would eat garbage from someone's trash can. Randy was getting paranoid with Ace, so he walked away, but Ace and Eliza followed him. Eliza started to get mad at Ace and Randy when they stopped to talk to some animals. When she was finished listening, Eliza grabbed Ace with her mouth and dragged him away while Randy followed. Eliza then spotted a flower bed and ran all around in it, knocking the pedals off, and they all landed on Randy and Ace. Once they were covered entirely, Randy and Ace sneezed the pedals off. When it was night, they all worked together to make a place for them to go to bed.
Once finished, Ace tried snuggling with Randy, but Randy got up and laid somewhere else. He also drew a line in the dirt with his claw to tell Ace to leave him alone, but Ace drew a big circle around them. Then he snuggled up with Randy again, and Randy couldn't believe he was putting up with this. The following day, Randy walked through the rain with a scowl while Eliza stepped through the puddles, happy, and Ace played in them while he was excited. When they witched a windy spot, all three stood on their high legs and felt the breeze on the fur. When the wind stopped, they fell to the ground and landed in mud. Then they all laughed because they all thought they all looked silly. The dog catchers then picked up their trail, and they all hid. Randy said, "I wonder how they picked up our trail. I thought we lost them back in the alley." Eliza turned around and asked, "Does that answer your question?" Randy and Ace looked behind them and saw their footprints following them. Randy thought about it and said, "I think I got an idea." All three of them hitched a ride in the back of a pickup truck so they wouldn't leave tracks. Ace said, "Ok, now this is fun."
Once the other stray dogs saw what Ace, Elza, and Randy were doing, they decided to do the same thing because it looked fun. All the dogs picked a truck to hitch a ride on, jumped into the back, and enjoyed the ride without the humans noticing them. Eliza looked ahead at Randy and saw they were headed for a tunnel. When they entered, all the dogs started to reach their heads out of the trucks instead of sitting down. Then they held their tongues out and felt the wind on their faces. Ace and Eliza joined them when they saw what the other dogs were doing. Even though he was a werewolf, Randy reached his head and tongue out and joined the others. The humans saw what the dogs were doing but didn't care because they thought they were pets, not strays. Ace then took a break to laugh and sing the song's last verse.
While the dogs were riding on the trucks, the animal control officers followed their footprints to the street, but then they disappeared. The animal control officers were puzzled about how the dogs had just disappeared. They looked all around but saw no stray dogs or dog footprints for them to follow. Matt, the dogcatcher, said, "Where'd the dogs go?" While the animal control officers were looking for them, Randy, Eliza, and Ace still rode in a truck while the other dogs rode in different trucks. Once they exited the tunnel, Eliza saw Randy lying in the car, not having fun anymore. Eliza said, "Is something wrong, Randy?" Randy said, "Oh, I miss my family. I'm sure they're worried sick about me." Eliza said, "Yeah, well, they'll be relieved when they see you again. And I bet they'll be even more surprised to see me." Randy said, "You don't know the half of it." Eliza looked back at Randy and said, "What was that?" Randy said, "Nothing." Eliza chose to ignore that and let Randy miss his family. Eliza walked by Ace and said, "Give him a minute." Ace walked away with Eliza, and they sat down on the other side of the truck, continuing their journey.
