The night sky stretched endlessly above, with stars twinkling like flickering lights, by the window, sat a young man with hair as dark as the night and eyes as blue as the sea staring at those twinkling stars, deep in thought, thinking about what's beyond those stars, what lies beyond all those lights.
He'd spent countless years chasing a dream, an empty dream as most call it, one that tells of another world with another civilization and different lives, a world, or worlds, that he wanted to explore, wanted to go to, wanted to escape to.
In his search, he was called various names, especially since he was a renowned scientist in the field of astrology, some called him a madman, others a genius, but he didn't care about any of that, he was chasing a dream, a dream that he would achieve no matter what.
He didn't remember when or how, but since thinking about it, he never gave up searching. He wanted to find another world and he was determined, and will stop at nothing.
*Sigh*
He looked to his room, an indication of his dedication, notes scattered everywhere, half Opened books, failed devices, theories, even legends, but no matter what he did, that door, the door to another world, remained shut, with no key or handle to open it in sight.
*Click*
The door opened, giving way to a girl, one that looked no older than 30 with her golden eyes and golden hair swaying from the gentle breeze.
"Still at it?" She asked, concern evident in her eyes.
"Yue."
He looked at her and sat in his chair before replying with a slight smirk "You know me, I won't stop before I find it, and as you could tell I didn't find anything yet."
Unlike most who dismayed his dream and research, Ren yue was supportive, she didn't try to persuade him to stop, she just silently supported him a sister would.
She smiled back, "You probably forgot to eat again so I brought you something to eat."
She then placed a tray full of food on whatever little space was left on his desk and the smell of the warm food invaded his nostrils.
"Thanks Yue." He didn't wait for long before he started eating.
"So? Anything new?" She looked at him and questioned without a shred of mockery in it.
Over the years, she kept encouraging him and slowly started getting involved with his research and sometimes even giving suggestions, albeit rarely.
"Theoretically and on paper, everything makes sense, it all works out, but it's like a puzzlez you have all the right pieces, but don't have a frame to hold them together, and they scatter without one. It's like, something is holding me back, like it could be the simplest thing, but I just can't figure it out."
"Maybe this world doesn't want to let you go? Hehe." She chuckled a little "Because you're too great that it'll be a great loss to have you go somewhere else. So it doesn't want to give you the final piece."
"Haha, like I'm that important, I'm sure there are better, smarter, people out there who aren't as crazy as me."
"No, you are that important, if you weren't, they to whom were all these awards given." She said as she pointed to a wall full of trophies and certificates.
"Yeah well, I haven't discovered anything in a while, I've just been holding onto straws."
"You've achieved what most won't in their whole lives. Look, they even created this award especially for you, because you're not just discovering stuff, you've also created new things, heck, you created new whole fields of study."
"That was in the past, now I can't even find something that could end up being trivial let alone create something ne..... WAIT!"
He stood up in excitement and went straight to his board and starting writing.
"HAHA, YOU JUST GAVE ME A NEW IDEA what if, what if, it's as you're saying and the world is actually preventing me from finding that last piece, then why not CREATE THAT LAST PIECE MYSELF, it might be near impossible, but it's worth the try."
Then he starting writing crazily and going from one book to another.
"I knew you won't be let down that easily." Said Yue softly, smiling, before leaving the room and closing the door.
"Looks like he won't sleep today too." She murmured before staring at the balcony where a strom started brewing. Before heading to her room herself.
