The warm, homey atmosphere of the Stacy household was a stark contrast to the tension in the air. Wanda Maximoff, Natasha Romanoff, and Talia Stark sat in the modest living room, its décor a mix of well-worn furniture and carefully arranged family photos. Gwen Stacy, seated across from them on a slightly faded armchair, looked wary and uncertain. The quiet hum of the ceiling fan overhead did little to soothe the palpable unease.
"So," Gwen said, breaking the silence, her voice edged with caution. "You wanted to talk about my... 'spider problem.' What exactly do you mean by that?"
Wanda leaned forward slightly, her crimson aura flickering faintly as she met Gwen's gaze. "Gwen, I think you already know. You've been through a lot recently, haven't you?"
Gwen's blue eyes darted nervously, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her sleeve. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"You're a terrible liar, kid," Talia said, smirking. "Relax. We're not here to out you or cause trouble. We just want to help."
Natasha leaned back on the couch, her green eyes sharp but not unkind. "You don't have to say anything if you're not ready. But we know about the spider bite, Gwen. We know about what's changed."
Gwen stiffened, her gaze snapping to Wanda. "How do you—"
"Because I've been where you are," Wanda interrupted gently, her voice calm and reassuring. "I know what it's like to suddenly have power you didn't ask for. To feel lost, unsure of what to do with it. I've felt it all before."
Gwen's posture softened slightly, but her wariness remained. "And you... want to help me?"
"Exactly," Wanda said, her tone firm. "I rule Sokovia now. My country has become a sanctuary for people like us—for mutants, for those with abilities, for anyone who needs a place to belong. I want to make sure you don't have to go through this alone."
The room grew quiet as Gwen processed Wanda's words. Talia leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees. "Look, kid, we're not here to force anything. But you're clearly dealing with something big, and let's be honest—you're in way over your head."
"Way over," Natasha added, smirking. "No offense."
Gwen hesitated, her fingers still tugging at her sleeve. "And you think I can... what? Join you? Be part of some kind of team?"
"Not just a team," Wanda said softly. "A family. I'm building something bigger than myself—a sanctuary for people like us. A place where we can stand together as equals, help others like us, and face the challenges that come our way."
Gwen's blue eyes widened. "And you think I could be part of that?"
"I know you can," Wanda replied with quiet conviction.
For a moment, Gwen's expression softened, but then the weight of her recent experiences seemed to crash down on her. She looked away, her voice trembling slightly. "There's this guy... he calls himself the Green Goblin. He's been terrorizing the city—threatening my dad, going after my friends. I barely managed to save Mary Jane Watson the other night."
"Barely?" Natasha asked, her tone curious but gentle.
"Yeah," Gwen muttered, her fists clenching in her lap. "And she didn't even thank me. She was more worried about her stupid dress and her date with Harry Osborne. She is a real bitch but what can I do we grew up together now MJ is more like an obligation than a friend at this point."
Talia snorted. "Charming."
"And then there's Peter Parker," Gwen continued, her frustration evident. "He's always following me around. Now he's obsessed with getting pictures of Spider-Woman for that bully J. Jonah Jameson at the Daily Bugle."
At the mention of the Bugle, Wanda's expression darkened. "Jameson," she muttered, her voice laced with irritation. "That man has been spreading lies about me since the day I took the throne in Sokovia."
Natasha smirked. "Guess he has a type."
Talia grinned. "Slandering powerful women? Yeah, sounds like his specialty."
Wanda shook her head, though her faint smile betrayed her amusement. "The point is, I understand what you're dealing with, Gwen. And I want to help you."
Gwen hesitated, glancing between the three women. "Why would you want to help me? You don't even know me."
"Yet," Wanda said with a small smile. "But I see something in you, Gwen. You're strong—stronger than you realize. And with the right guidance, you could be unstoppable."
Gwen blinked, her cheeks flushing slightly. "I... I don't know what to say."
Natasha leaned back, her smirk widening. "A thank-you usually works."
Talia rolled her eyes. "Ignore her. She's just jealous Wanda's giving you all the attention."
"Jealous?" Natasha repeated, her tone feigning offense. "Please. Wanda has room for all of us in her heart."
Wanda groaned, her cheeks reddening slightly. "You're not helping."
Talia grinned. "We're not trying to."
Despite herself, Gwen let out a small laugh, the tension in her shoulders easing slightly. "You guys are... a lot."
"You'll get used to it," Natasha said, her green eyes sparkling with amusement.
Wanda shifted the conversation back to the matter at hand. "Tell me more about the Green Goblin. What do you know about him?"
Gwen's expression darkened. "Not much. He wears this creepy green armor and flies around on some kind of glider. He's strong, fast, and completely unhinged. He's already gone after my dad and my friends, and I don't think he's going to stop."
"And what does he want?" Natasha asked.
"I don't know," Gwen admitted, frustration clear in her voice. "Revenge? Chaos? He's... terrifying."
Wanda reached out, placing a reassuring hand on Gwen's knee. "You don't have to face him alone."
Gwen looked up, her blue eyes wide. "You mean that?"
"Of course," Wanda said firmly. "We're here to help. All of us."
The conversation continued, with Wanda, Natasha, and Talia working to reassure Gwen that she wasn't alone. They offered their support, their resources, and their experience, slowly breaking through her walls of doubt and fear.
By the time the conversation ended, Gwen looked more at ease, though the weight of her challenges still lingered in her eyes. As the trio prepared to leave, Wanda paused at the door, her crimson aura flickering faintly.
"You have a lot of potential, Gwen," Wanda said softly. "And when you're ready, we'll be here."
Gwen nodded, her voice steady. "Thank you. For everything."
Natasha smirked as they stepped outside. "You've got another recruit, Maximoff. And another blonde, no less."
Talia grinned. "You've definitely got a type."
Wanda shook her head, though her smile didn't fade. "Your right strong, independent women."
As the trio walked away, one thing was clear: with Gwen Stacy by their side, they were one step closer to building something extraordinary.
