The elevator doors of Stark Tower slid open, revealing the familiar high-tech lab Talia Stark called her second home. Wanda Maximoff, Natasha Romanoff, and Talia stepped inside, still buzzing from their encounter with Rhino. The gleaming surfaces of the lab reflected the trio's energy, their laughter and teasing filling the room.
"That was some fight," Natasha said, holstering her pistols as she leaned against a console. "I can't believe he actually gave up."
"He didn't have much of a choice," Talia replied, smirking. "We literally beat the fight out of him."
Wanda chuckled, shaking her head. "You two are unbelievable. Between the property damage and the snark, I'm surprised the city hasn't issued a ban on vigilantes."
Fracture's head formed lazily over Wanda's shoulder, her tendrils rippling with amusement. "I think they secretly love the chaos. Keeps things interesting."
Before the banter could continue, the smooth voice of Jarvis interrupted. "Miss Stark, there's a matter I believe may be of interest to you."
Talia arched an eyebrow, walking over to a nearby console. "What is it, Jarvis?"
Jarvis's holographic display lit up, showing footage from a university campus. "Over the past several days, my surveillance of Empire State University—conducted as part of our security measures for Stark-funded research projects—has identified an unusual occurrence. A young woman, Gwen Stacy, was bitten by a genetically enhanced spider during a lab demonstration."
Natasha crossed her arms, her green eyes narrowing. "Genetically enhanced? That doesn't sound good."
Jarvis continued. "Indeed, the spider's bite caused significant genetic mutations in Miss Stacy. These changes would normally go unnoticed, but my monitoring has revealed extraordinary physical enhancements. Enhanced strength, agility, and reflexes, as well as an apparent ability to cling to surfaces."
Wanda leaned closer, her crimson eyes studying the footage. "And you're sure about this?"
"Yes," Jarvis replied. "Miss Stacy has also displayed an interest in vigilante activity. Over the last few days, she has been observed patrolling the city under the guise of 'Spider-Woman.' Her attire is... distinctive."
The display shifted, revealing Gwen Stacy in her new costume. The suit was striking, blending elements of elegance and menace. It was primarily jet-black, with faint crimson lines that formed a web-like pattern running down her arms and legs. The mask covered her entire face, save for her mouth, with large, reflective lenses that gave her an almost alien appearance. A faint shimmer on the surface of the suit hinted at its advanced material, almost symbiotic in nature, as if it responded to her movements with liquid precision. The outfit exuded power and mystery, a perfect reflection of her transformation.
"Wow," Natasha said, her tone impressed. "She's got style."
"Definitely an upgrade from a ski mask," Talia added, smirking. "But I'm more impressed by her abilities. Jarvis, have you compiled a full profile on her?"
"Yes, Miss Stark," Jarvis replied. "Miss Stacy is the daughter of George Stacy, the current police chief of New York City. She's a brilliant biology student at Empire State University and has a spotless record. Her crime-fighting activities appear to stem from a strong sense of justice."
Wanda's crimson aura flickered faintly as she considered the information. "She sounds... promising. Someone like her could be an asset."
Natasha's lips twitched into a smirk. "You have a thing for blonde chicks now, Wanda?"
Wanda shot her a glare, though her cheeks tinted faintly red. "I'm thinking strategically, Natasha."
"Sure you are," Natasha said, her smirk widening. "Just like Talia and I have a thing for a certain redhead who loves attracting trouble."
Talia grinned. "Hey, I'm just saying, Wanda. You do have a habit of collecting dangerous women."
Wanda ignored their teasing, her mind focused on the possibilities. "We should meet her. If she's out there fighting crime, she needs to know she's not alone. And if we can help her..."
"She might help us," Natasha finished, nodding in agreement.
Talia leaned against the console, her smirk softening into a thoughtful expression. "She's young, though. Barely out of her teens. Are you sure she's ready for this?"
Wanda's gaze hardened slightly. "None of us were ready when we started. But that doesn't mean we can't prepare her."
Natasha crossed her arms. "So, what's the plan? We knock on her door and say, 'Hey, we're recruiting for Team Chaos. Want to join?'"
Wanda chuckled softly. "Something like that. But we should start with her home. If her father's the police chief, we'll need to tread carefully."
"Carefully," Talia repeated, rolling her eyes. "Yeah, we're great at that."
That evening, the trio found themselves outside a modest brownstone in Queens. The lights were on, and the faint sound of music drifted through the open windows. Wanda, Natasha, and Talia exchanged a glance before approaching the front door.
"This is weird," Natasha muttered. "We're not exactly the 'introduce ourselves to the neighbors' type."
"It's a necessary step," Wanda said, her voice steady. "She deserves to know we're on her side."
Talia smirked. "Besides, if she's anything like you, Wanda, she'll appreciate a little chaos in her life."
Wanda knocked on the door, her crimson aura dimming slightly as she composed herself. A moment later, the door opened, revealing Gwen Stacy. She looked younger than they expected, her blonde hair pulled into a loose ponytail, and her bright blue eyes radiated curiosity.
"Hi," Gwen said, her brow furrowing slightly. "Can I help you?"
Wanda stepped forward, offering a small smile. "Gwen Stacy?"
"Yes...?" Gwen replied, her voice cautious.
"I'm Wanda Maximoff," Wanda said. "These are my friends, Natasha Romanoff and Talia Stark. We'd like to talk to you about your... extracurricular activities."
Gwen blinked, her cheeks flushing. "I have no idea what you're talking about."
Talia chuckled. "You're a terrible liar, kid."
Natasha leaned against the doorframe, her green eyes sharp but kind. "Relax. We're not here to out you or cause trouble. We just want to help."
Gwen hesitated, her gaze shifting between the three women. "Help with what?"
"Your new life," Wanda said softly. "We know about the spider bite. And we know what you've been doing since then."
Gwen's eyes widened, but she didn't deny it. Instead, she stepped aside, motioning for them to come in. "Okay. You've got my attention."
With those words, Gwen opened the door and allowed these three strange women into her home, unaware of how the coming conversation would change not only her life but the lives of all living beings in existence.
Because the team that Wanda is forming will be the bulwark against the tide coming for her universe. Multiverse 663 The Crimson Multiverse and all of the the existence that surround's it be they Ninja or Soul Reapers or a flying Superman all would feel the power of Chaos Eternal.
