Chapter 93 - Chapter 93

"Roar!" Song Zhan let out a deafening roar toward the sky, asserting his dominance as king.

In the next moment, without giving the wolf under his paw any chance to fight back, he lowered his head and snapped its neck before tossing it aside.

The remaining four wolves bared their teeth at Song Zhan, clearly unwilling to give up so easily.

The four wolves seemed to reach a silent agreement and simultaneously attacked Song Zhan from four different directions.

Song Zhan narrowed his yellow eyes, filled with killing intent.

Just then, two figures rushed out—one black, one brown.

Without hesitation, they joined the battle.

Hei Yao spewed a breath of fire at one wolf while using his tail to entangle another. Meanwhile, Cheng Mo unleashed countless wind blades that slashed across the bodies of the remaining two wolves.

Seeing the reinforcements, Song Zhan felt a bit resigned.

Well, he was just getting into the fight. Now that these two had arrived, there wasn't much left for him to do.

He hadn't had enough of the battle yet.

Hei Yao swiftly killed two wolves, while Cheng Mo did the same with the other two.

"You guys came just in time," Song Zhan remarked.

"What's going on?" Cheng Mo asked, eyeing Song Zhan, and then glancing at the unconscious young man on the ground.

He narrowed his eyes, suspecting that the incident was related to the boy.

"It's him. He was being chased by the wolves and fled here. Bai Di and I noticed the commotion and came to deal with the wolves. Then you two arrived," Song Zhan explained.

"Alright. You might as well eat these wolves. Can't let them go to waste. If there's too much, clean up the rest and bring it back," Cheng Mo said, picking up the pink-haired boy by the scruff and slinging him over his back.

Hei Yao had already left.

After killing the wolves, he had quickly returned to check on Si Lu.

After all, what he worried about most was their precious female.

"Are you okay? Did it scare you?" Hei Yao asked, his voice filled with concern as he looked at Si Lu.

Earlier, when they returned from hunting, they sensed a battle nearby and even heard Song Zhan's roar, which sent them sprinting back.

Of course, they weren't afraid of any enemies; their concern was for Si Lu's safety.

Having experienced one attack already, they were determined to ensure she never faced harm again.

They couldn't imagine living if anything happened to her.

"I'm fine; don't worry. I've been through a lot; my nerves aren't that fragile," Si Lu said with a playful smile.

She truly hadn't been scared.

Besides, she hadn't seen the actual fighting; she just felt that something was off.

"What exactly happened? Are Zhan and Mo okay?" Si Lu asked, her brow furrowed with concern.

After all, Hei Yao had returned so quickly.

"They're fine. There were just a few wolves nearby. It's been taken care of," Hei Yao reassured her, gently patting her head.

"That's good. But why would wolves come here?" Si Lu wondered aloud.

At that moment, she noticed Cheng Mo returning.

Wait, what was that on his back? Something pink?

"Mo, what's that thing on your back? Why is it pink?" Si Lu asked curiously as she walked closer.

Upon inspection, she saw a pink rabbit on Cheng Mo's back, its body covered in blood, looking as if it were on the verge of death.

A pink rabbit? How cute!

But sadly, it didn't seem like it had long to live.

"It's a rabbit. The wolves were chasing it," Cheng Mo explained.

"Let me take a look; see if there's anything we can do to save it," Bai Di quickly approached, gently taking the pink rabbit from Cheng Mo's back and laying it on the ground.

"I've never seen a rabbit like this before—pink ears and white fur. But these injuries are severe. I'm not sure it'll make it through. Bai Di, do your best to help it," Si Lu said, her heart aching for the poor creature.

Indeed, the rabbit looked pitiful.

Si Lu, staring at the rabbit about the size of a grown cat, felt a wave of sympathy.

"Those wolves were chasing such a small rabbit? Not even sparing a little thing like this? Wolves really are cruel. Where's Zhan?" Si Lu asked angrily, not seeing Song Zhan anywhere.

"Don't worry. He's fine. He's just dealing with the wolves' corpses," Cheng Mo replied.

Of course, they needed to clean up the area. Leaving the carcasses unattended would attract other wild beasts.

They didn't mind, but with Si Lu around, they had to be cautious.

Any potential dangers had to be eliminated as much as possible.

"The rabbit's injuries are serious. Its back and chest have deep gashes. We need to find a way to close the wounds quickly, or they might tear open again," Bai Di said, examining the rabbit's injuries with a heavy heart.

The wounds were severe—rescuing them seemed like a long shot.

"Let's try our best. Maybe you could sew up the wounds, like mending clothes, and then treat it with medicine. What do you think?" Si Lu suggested.

Such a beautiful rabbit; it would be a shame if it died.

A pink and white rabbit—she had never seen one before.

She really wanted to keep it. It was so soft and cute!

"Sew up the wounds like mending clothes? That's a clever idea, Lu Lu! I'll give it a try!" Bai Di's eyes lit up at the suggestion.

He had never considered this method before. But Si Lu's suggestion seemed promising—albeit daring.

"You should try it. Once the wounds start to heal, you can remove the stitches and let the skin close up naturally. As for the thread, you can use Hei Yao or Song Zhan's hair—it's pretty sturdy. I've tested it before," Si Lu added thoughtfully.

In the past, when injured soldiers in hospitals had large wounds, they were often stitched up. This idea came to her mind, and she quickly shared it with Bai Di.

However, she didn't dare attempt it herself.

But Bai Di was different.

As a healer, he had seen many bloodied, injured beastmen. For him, this would be a simple task.

"Alright, I'll do as you say. I'll sew up its wounds now," Bai Di said, fetching a fishbone and plucking a few strands of his own hair. He tied the hair to the fishbone and began stitching the rabbit's wounds.

Meanwhile, Cheng Mo and Hei Yao were busy handling the beasts they had brought back.

Song Zhan, on the other hand, was taking care of the wolves.

Si Lu sat next to Bai Di, ready to assist if needed, though she found it hard to watch the stitching process.
