Si Lu began to worry.
After all, right now, only Bai Di and Song Zhan were by her side.
Of course, the two of them were also very strong.
But what concerned her was the unknown situation ahead.
"Song Zhan, be careful," Bai Di said as he looked at the large tiger standing at the front.
He wasn't the only one feeling worried.
"Mm, mm, don't worry," Song Zhan replied, full of fighting spirit.
No matter what came their way, he would protect the little female.
He was the king of the jungle, after all—there was nothing to fear.
At this moment, Song Zhan also heard the sounds ahead getting closer and closer.
He glanced at Si Lu behind him, thought for a moment, and then dashed forward.
Bai Di tightly embraced Si Lu, his gaze fixed seriously on the front.
He knew that Song Zhan was worried the battle might scare Si Lu, which is why he charged ahead on his own.
He wanted to move the battle further away, at least far enough so that the little female wouldn't have to witness it.
It would be better than frightening her out of her wits.
Si Lu watched Song Zhan's figure disappear into the tall grass in front of them, becoming invisible.
She started to feel anxious.
"Ah Di, why don't you go help A Zhan? I'll be fine by myself," Si Lu said to Bai Di, her brows furrowed.
She wasn't sure if Song Zhan could handle it alone.
If he couldn't defeat whatever it was...
"No way, I can't leave you for even a second. Have you forgotten how you were captured by those rogue beasts before?" Bai Di said in a stern tone.
No matter what, he wouldn't leave the little female's side.
He already knew about what had happened before—Song Zhan and Cheng Mo had told him all about it.
So, no matter what happened to Song Zhan, his duty was to protect Si Lu, to guard her and never leave her side.
Song Zhan was strong and an experienced fighter. But Si Lu was different. She was a female, and even though she had some strength, she couldn't compare to a male beastman. She was the one who truly needed protection.
So, as soon as Si Lu suggested such something, Bai Di immediately refused.
Even if he had to die, he wouldn't leave her side.
"Alright then," Si Lu said, giving up on the idea.
She knew Bai Di was only thinking of her safety.
After all, she really was quite weak.
She didn't want to experience being captured by rogue beasts again.
If Song Zhan was strong enough, things should be fine.
Still, Si Lu couldn't help but feel a little uneasy.
As they worried, they suddenly heard the sound of a tiger's roar not far away, followed by several pitiful whimpers.
Si Lu couldn't identify what kind of animal made the noise.
But Bai Di recognized it immediately.
Wolves!
It was the last thing he expected—to run into wolves nearby.
Of course, wolves wouldn't appear here for no reason. Something must have drawn them to this area.
Bai Di grew more concerned.
He was primarily worried about Si Lu's safety.
Wolves are pack animals, and once they set their sights on prey, they wouldn't easily give up. Something must have lured them here.
"Lu Lu, if things get worse, you should hide in the cave. I'll guard the entrance," Bai Di said seriously.
If it came down to it, Si Lu could hide inside, and all he would need to do was defend the entrance.
Out here, it would be too easy for them to be surrounded.
And with only himself to defend, he was anxious.
He couldn't allow Si Lu to be harmed, not even a little.
"Alright, I'll go in now," Si Lu said, seeing Bai Di's serious expression. She quickly retreated into the cave.
Knowing her own weakness, she couldn't help them in battle. The best thing she could do was follow orders and not cause trouble.
So, when Bai Di suggested she hide in the cave, she didn't hesitate and immediately complied.
The last thing she wanted was to be a burden at a critical moment.
Bai Di watched as Si Lu entered the cave and let out a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, the sounds of battle in the distance grew more intense.
Bai Di's sharp hearing allowed him to catch every sound, but Si Lu wasn't so fortunate—she couldn't hear clearly from such a distance.
Bai Di could sense that there were at least five or six wolves. Of course, Song Zhan was formidable on his own.
Still, it was impossible not to worry.
Wolves were intelligent creatures. Not only that, but they were patient and capable of enduring for long periods.
The fight in the distance grew fiercer.
At this moment, Song Zhan stood in one corner. Behind him was a figure, a handsome young man drenched in blood. His pale face was smeared with blood, and there were several deep claw marks across his chest. His back was equally wounded, with flesh turned inside out from the injuries. It was a gruesome sight.
Luckily, the boy wasn't an ordinary human—otherwise, he would surely have died.
The injuries were too severe.
The beastmen of this world were truly powerful, with remarkable vitality.
But what was even more unusual was the boy's hair—it was pink. A long mane of pink hair, though now matted and messy, added to the boy's tragic appearance.
"Thank you... for saving me," the young man said weakly, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.
He hadn't expected to run into another beastman.
He had thought for sure that he wouldn't survive this time.
"Don't speak, hold on!" Song Zhan shouted, his eyes sharp as he glared at the five wolves surrounding them.
Damn it.
These wolves were really troublesome.
If it were just one or two, he could have easily dealt with them.
But with five of them, and having to protect an injured beastman, how could he possibly fend them off?
What's worse, he was on his own—Bai Di had to protect Si Lu, and there was no way he could let the wolves discover Si Lu's presence. Otherwise, they'd surely target her.
Song Zhan was furious.
He wanted nothing more than to tear these wolves apart.
Enough! He was going to go all out!
The young man behind Song Zhan gritted his teeth, enduring the intense pain to keep himself conscious. Looking at the five wolves surrounding them, he began to doubt.
Although this tiger beastman was very strong, these were wolves!
Could they really defeat them?
It seemed like he had only brought trouble to others.
Sigh…
"Damn it!" Song Zhan growled as he glared at the wolves, his eyes brimming with battle lust and killing intent.
Even in such a dire situation, he wasn't afraid. Instead, his fighting spirit grew stronger and stronger.
At that moment, a wolf suddenly launched a sneak attack from Song Zhan's left.
Song Zhan reacted instantly, raising his massive paw and swatting the wolf away.
But just then, two more wolves lunged at him from other directions. Song Zhan spun around swiftly, slamming one wolf to the ground with a powerful paw while using his hind legs to kick the other away!
