Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - Survival

They were lucky this was a privileged street for the rich, so there weren't many people or animals here. "Get inside now!!!" His father shouted in panic as his sister and mother ran inside. Damien continued to watch the scene before him as his blood rushed. Not out of fear but excitement, as he allowed his dad to pull him inside the house.

His father locked the door with all the locks available. Even pushing the bookshelf at the side to block it . He then sat in a corner where his hands on his head, breathing shakingly. "Wh... what happened out there? The world is in chaos. Is it the government!? F****** bastards, they always do this. We are all going to die, all of u----." Before he could finish his ramblings of madness, that surely every man in the world was having right now, a slap arrived at his face.

"Snap out of it!! You're the pillar of this family. We need your support. What do we do now!!?" His wife stared at him coldly but asked in panic.

"We evolve." There was silence as Damien was comforting and holding his sister who they didn't even know was crying. The Order transfered knowledge into our brains some seconds ago, about how we can grow stronger by cultivating and killing those things and evolve. So that's it, we evolve." said Damien.

He said plainly as he slowly walked towards an emergency fire glass box by the side. As his parents and sister slowly realized the information that had been transmitted to their heads a minute ago. The silence was broken as he punched the glass and took a fire axe from within, went to the door and push the bookshelf away with one hand easily. "This wouldn't have held anyway." he said. With the axe leaning on his shoulder, he checked his phone messages, skipped all the panicked messages from his other contacts straight to his mentor's chat section and saw only one word.

[ Survive ]

His family members still stood there with mouths agape and with a very valid reason. It was because, even though their son/brother had a strength disorder, and the strength of two young people his age, he still shouldn't have been able to push a 50 kg bookshelf with one hand easily.

Obviously, it was because he had trained with the internal energy technique given to him by his mentor, which improved his already high internal energy and physical strength. It dealt with absorbing the worlds energy through the pores. Purifying them by passing it through the meridians, and then settling it in the dantain. And to improve his physical strength, he just injected the internal energy into his heart, which pumped the internal energy filled blood all around his body, strengthening it. But he wasn't going to tell them that he practice an internal energy technique called Beast Varja Technique. It was basically just allowing the internal energy to flow in different ways, giving him the properties of different beasts.

But that's when it hit him. 'My mentor couldn't possibly have been the only one who knew about the world's major changes or about internal energy techniques. So that means all the major powers in the world knew about this, maybe even the army. It now make sense when my unofficial girlfriend/neighbor went on a 'vacation'. 'But why didn't she tell me?' Damien thought. His heart filled with despair until his logical side awoke. His mentor must have told her not to give him many hints.'That slimy old bastard'.

He hadn't for once worried about her safety. After all, she was protected by bodyguards 24/7 (female guards). And as for if any of them had the disease and turned, her family must have surely taken precautions over that.

Her name was a Amelia Newman, the one and only child of the CEO of Apple Industries, Nate Newman. A man whose net worth was over 100 billion USD dollars or more. And as for how their families knew each other, his was their personal family doctor. He won't even be shocked if she practiced the internal energy techniques. Talkless of the young masters and young mistresses of large businesses or conglomerates. Talkless of the Shaolin masters from the Chinese temples.

'Looks like I have competition' he thought smirking.

By the time he was finished thinking his family had already gotten over the shock and we're looking for weapons to use.

The slowly opened the door and carefully stuck his head through the space. Seeing that the coast was clear, he left the house holding a fire axe in one hand and a kitchen knife in the other. He quickly rushed to the car parked in front of their lawn, a black Benz. But instead of rushing inside and starting the ignition, he hid behind it, signaling his family members to join him. He'd be damned if he started the engine now loud enough to bring all the zombies in the block toward him.

After all, what better place was there to kill and get stronger than here, where there weren't that many monsters. While waiting for his family members to come one by one, he looked around for a monster that he could use as a test subject. He saw a zombie meters away that looked like the old retired general that lived right across the street from him before the apocalypse. His back was still straight and his muscles bulging, but his skin had turned grey, and black veins were visible with lifeless eyes and growling babbling mouth, looking for prey. Although sad about what he was about to do, Damian knew that wasn't the old general he used to know so he pumped to go out and put him out of his mystery. But before that could happen a scream that didn't sound human, came from one of the houses ,as a boar as tall as a normal human male crashed through the doors of one of their neighbors and a woman's body was nailed by one of its shiny tusks, soaking it red as she continuously screamed until the light in her eyes faded.
