From his obvious memory, the Morales lived in the Blood Diamond Estate in the east side of Washington DC, with their neighbors being only the rich and influential. it was square kilometers inside which was small of an estate but since it was only for a select few in society that's how each house was over 500,000, it was manageable. It had four gates on the north, east, west, south regions. His house was closer to the south, which he usually took to school and after exiting through the gate, they would enter the highway which he was pretty sure was contaminated with new numerous zombies and beasts. 'But this is also good.' he thought with an evil smile. 'Fastest way to getting stronger'
According to his calculations, it will take a whole 12 hours to walk to the south gate. But considering all the living obstructions, it could take three days tops. "We are moving out in 50 minutes, let's pack up." he whispered to his still shivering family members who already rushed into the house under his careful watch. Not knowing he was being watched by deadly predators himself as he ran into the house.
"Pack canned, dried and packaged food, especially noodles and meat. Carry salt, someone should carry pots and a lighter. Dad carry bowls. Alice, our weapons. Mom, get a lot of bottled water. We don't know if the other water sources have been contaminated by God knows what. I'll carry spare clothes. Everyone should wear thick long sleeves, it's gonna get cold." Damien barked orders at his family members and they all listened. Reason to them, it felt right that he was the one in charge. Some minutes later, they were looking like proper survivors with thick coats and small but fully packed backpacks with weapons in hand.
Cautiously opening the door and looking around for any beasts or zombies, and seeing the coast was clear, he ran out with an axe in his right hand and a knife in his left hand towards the Benz packed in front of the lawn. For some reason, the houses were here didn't have even a simple wooden fence in front, which he found incredibly and unreasonable. Even if they were in a rich neighborhood that was well guarded. But God what type of monsters the security guards and their pets have turned into.
With his head preoccupied with this as he ran to the car, from the corner of his left eye, he spotted a green flash approaching him quickly. Following his instincts, he blocked a half meter long green carved blade with his kitchen knife and quickly circulating he's internal energy, he implemented the 'Boar's Style' skill into his right arm and smashed down on the shoulder of the creature that had attacked him. The axe was buried deep in it's shoulder springing forth a burst of dark green blood. The creature quickly jumped back allowing Damien to see it in all it's horrifying glory. It was like a preying mantis was magnified and strengthened multiple times to put it simple. With an ugly disgusting face and pincers for a mouth that could probably give his sister nightmares for days. It had two and a half meter green scythe for hands and a hard green exercise and a hard green exoskeleton. It was a pure monster. He reckoned that if not that he struck the gap in its exoskeleton, he wouldn't have done any damage. As he was scanning the preying mantis, it was also cautiously scanning him as well, as this human that has soft flesh and that it expected to kill in one strike actually blocked it's attack and managed to hurt it. It was unexpected for such a being that thought of itself as part of the top of the food chain. Damien's breathing became heavy, his mind cleared, excited his instincts were fully activated and his heart was beating fast with adrenaline, pumping through his veins and most in particular he had a large smile on his face. They both looked at each other attentively at eye level, 5 m apart before both of them charged forward again. This exchange barely took 5 seconds but it felt so long and thrilling.
"Beast Vagra Technique - Cheetah Style. " Damien roared as qi flowed into the meridians in his legs as he dashed forward closing the space between them in seconds. But the mantis was just as fast as him as they both clashed in the middle - blade to blade, they clashed multiple times. The mantis' style was wild and unrestrained while his was calculated and straightforward. Sparks flew as their blades clashed. They were both at eye level with the mantis being only a little taller than him. They continued their fight which attracted some stray zombies and a mutant dog lying in wait for the perfect moment to strike. But, in a bust of unexpected movement, Damian added more qi into his strike, fended off its blades and came in close, stabbing his knife into its disturbing face only for the blade of the knife to be caught by it's pincers. But in a moment, Damien swung his axe in reverse with the more pointed end upwards, tearing it's chin and mouth apart, making it take several steps back in pain and shock. Raising the axe higher, he smashed it down on it's unprotected head with the 'Boar Style' skill implemented into his arm and with no further surprise, it's head burst open and it slowly fell to the ground defeated. It still twitched, causing him to stab it in the head a few more times, but then he felt something hard and putting his hand into the brains of the mantis with an undisturbed face. He removed an almost transparent but white stone. Not knowing the use, he put it in his pockets and turned around to meet the extremely shocked eyes of his parents and sister.
With sparkling and excited eyes, Alice jogged to him. "Bro, where did you learn how to do that?!! Can yo—–." Before she knew it, a 1.5 m dog pounced at her from the bushes with red eyes and a blood filled maw, but it could not even reach 3 meters before an axe was deeply lodged in its neck and it slid past Alice, who was terrified with tear filled eyes, dead with blood spurting.
Honestly speaking, even Damien didn't know how he managed to move so fast as he subconsciously activated the 'Elephant Style' he had been stuck in for a while now.
Rushing to her quickly, squeezing her tight in his arms and ignoring the notification in front of him telling him that he had leveled up. 'This was just a minor step -the Elephant style, I need to become even stronger if I want to protect her.' A sharpened and determined glint passed through his eyes. Meanwhile, Alice's thoughts were very different. 'I almost put myself and him in trouble just because I'm too weak. I will definitely grow stronger!! I don't want to hold him back anymore.' An even more determined glint passed through her eyes and she subconsciously squeezed her tiny fists that where holding onto her brother.
