Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Rumors and Questions

(Skyrus Academy)

Meanwhile on the school of gods, classes also were starting.

"Hello students, I hope you all ready for today´s test" called a tall woman with light skin, black hair, turquoise eyeshadow and two pairs of eyelashes. She was wearing a yellow shirt, plum coat, golden circular earrings with dark green jewels, pink scarf, purple pants and black slip-on shoes. She also had a pair of dog like ears and a tail coming from her posterior.

KATE BERNADO-REINCARNATION OF COYOTE (NORTH AMERICAN)

In front of her were the students capable of shapeshifting.

The classroom was a mix of a library and a theater stage. Bookshelves filled with ancient tomes and scrolls lined the walls, creating a silent, sacred aura that demanded respect. Yet, the floor was open, with a grandiose stage at the forefront, basking under the warm glow of theatrical lights. It was here that the pupils of the Coyote lineage would perform their transformations, showcasing their mastery over the art of shapeshifting. The air was thick with anticipation and a touch of apprehension as the students took their seats at the round, polished tables scattered around the room. The walls were adorned with intricate tapestries depicting scenes of mythological battles and history, with gods and creatures alike engaged in epic struggles that seemed almost tangible.

Though right now a certain student in the classroom couldn't exactly appreciate the decor considering how nervous she looked.

"Oh man...this isn't going to go well." Luan whimpered to herself with a groan this was both her favorite and most hated class.

Pro..she can showcase/boast about her shapeshifting powers

Con..3 out of 5 times she ended up transforming in something random or unable to keep one form for long times

"Honestly...how is that Im better than you on this?" scoffed Lori next to her sister

Luan turned at her with narrowed eyes.

"Easy for you considering you only transform in small birds and old ladies...and the last one isnt hard for you"

"Oh ha ha." Lori bit back sarcastically with a glare before it soften when she saw how nervous Luan was, "Sigh...look...just calm down and relax...you know getting panic just makes your uncontrolled shifting worse." she said with a frown.

Luan nodded, taking a deep breath and trying to ignore the murmurs of her classmates as they talked about the impromptu test that had been announced.

"Oh gods...oh no...why today?" Clyde protested as he breathed hard onto a paper bag.

"Relax man" Rusty called next to his friend "why so worry? this class was basically made for you"

However Clyde merely groaned.

"last time I turned my upper body into a shark...while keeping my human legs....I looked ridiculous!"

"But that was before you beat a cyclops!" called the new Apollo "you literal crushed that thing as a whale!"

"I was under pressure and not sure I can do that again!" the new Maui groaned in reply.

"Lucky...I cant become anything bigger than a seal" complained a girl with brunette hair, and light fair skin, wearing a pink turtleneck sweater, blue jeans, and white sneakers.

SADDIE TABER-REINCARNATION OF SEDNA (INUIT)

"you'd think shape shifting would be easy considering how many inheritors and gods can do it." she added with a sigh.

Just as she was about to take another deep breath to calm herself down she felt something wet hit her on the back of the head.

"Hey! What the hell?!" she shouted whipping around.

"Pff you baby gods are so easy to mess with" laughed a teenage girl with tanned skin, long wavy brown hair, and black-and-purple eye makeup. She was wearing a black t-shirt, a white vest over it, red jean shorts, brown leggings, red socks, and brown boots. on her head she had a golden crown representing a scorpion.

TAYLOR GRIFFIN-REINCARNATION OF SERKET (EGYPTIAN)

Saddie growled in annoyance as the water on her glowed and suddenly began taking shape of glowing water fishes.

Now this wouldnt be an issue and even would look cool if if wasnt for the fact that the moment they appeared, the moment they rushed into Saddie´s long hair and tangling themselves into it, causing her to scream in annoyance and flail around trying to get them out.

"Oh come on!!" Saddie complained as the water fishes continued to play around in her hair.

Prompting Taylor to let out a loud and lean back in her seat with a gleam of cruel amusement.

"Ahh I swear inheritors are getting more pathetic these days" she said shaking her head while the younger god kids shot her annoyed looks.

"do you always have to be a jerk?" Sadie question with a glare.

"I think the word you looking is toxic" growled Cookie at the bully.

"HA! good one!" laughed Luan.

"Not the time for joking!" hissed Saddie trying to get the fishes out of her hair.

"Indeed!" called Lori summoning her staff "and you Taylor better calm down!" ordered the new Hera.

"Oh and what are you going do? get your brother to sick a hydra on me?" Taylor asked with a scoff prompting blink and odd looks.

"Excuse me?" Lori question with a hard look, "Oooh you haven't seen the video yet...it's been trending" Taylor said bringing out her phone and holding it up to Lori.

The video played again, the same footage of the hydra attack at the park, the same man claiming Lincoln controlled the monster.

"What the...?" Lori's eyes went wide, "This is ridiculous! Lincoln would never do something like that!" she exclaimed, her hand tightening around her staff as she watched the footage in disbelief.

"Oh and why is that?" asked the (for the Loud sibling) annoying voice of Chandler from his seat, his eyes gleaming with malice as he leaned back in his chair.

He was wearing a green long sleeve shirt with white sleeves, which has a print of a blue gear, gray jeans with a black belt, and white sneakers with green stripes.

Lori narrowed her eyes at the reincarnation of Zeus.

"First of all there is no god that can control monsters" said Lori "and even if it was Lincoln is fully mortal!" she said in loud tone "And second of even if he wasn't I KNOW my brother and I know he'd never do anything like this." Lori said throwing Chandler an accusing glare, "And considering the insanity you were spouting after that disaster at my brother and little sisters school I just know you probably had something to do with this!"

Chandler smirked, leaning forward with his elbows on the desk.

"Oh, come now, Hera," he said, his voice oozing with feigned innocence, "why would I have anything to do with this?" He held up his hands in mock surrender.

"Yeah!" called another boy "also everyone knows Chandler is not fan of Ragnarok so why would he even be close to one?" the speaker was a small and thin boy, with tan skin. He had dark black sideways hair with two strands of hair sticking up, and black thin eyebrows. He was wearing a blue hoodie, brown cargo shorts, white socks, and blue cleats. On his head he had a pair of golden horns/antlers.

"Richie is right" called Rusty "Chandler has made it clear how much he hates those guys"

"True only a real moron of a inheritor would work with them." Taylor said speaking up with a amused smirk with Chandler holding back an annoyed look from remembering he didn't work with them he only used that one moron from the organization ,"But still Loud probably right about one thing." Taylor said looking at the video on her phone, "this is probably Zeus fault." she said with a shrug getting looks, "he was the moron acting all crazy accusing a mortal of somehow controlling monsters to attack him." she said sending him a arched look, "Really selling a picture of stability and sanity there by the way." she added with Chandler giving a annoyed growl. "But as amusing as you acting as a moron is.." The bully suddenly got a serious look, "This might actually be a problem for us."

"What do you mean?" asked Clyde nervously as the class watched the drama unfold.

"Tch think four eyes" the bully scoffed "those guys already won a lot of popularity among the normies, what you think will cause if they began yelling Inheritors are not only dangerous but that are also the ones ordering monsters to attack cities?" she asked rhetorically, her tone dark and calculating.

At that the others suddenly stiffen with Chandler suddenly going pale as he internally thought...FUCK! He hadn't thought of that! He just wanted to expose Hera freak of a brother! He hadn't exactly thought of the consequences especially if people thought that pathetic piece of trash was a inheritor.

"Hehe but it's not like people would actually buy into that garbage." He said with a force laugh and strained grin.

"Actually.." Taylor face and tone was anything but amused as she looked at her phone, "from what i'm seeing more than enough are buying it...and it's not pretty." she said holding up her phone again with it showing....a riot?!

The screen was filled with images of people holding up signs with slogans like "Inheritors out" and "No more monster attacks" as they protested in the streets. The news reports talked about the protesters moving to the town hall, demanding answers and protection from the so-called "gods" who were supposed to be guarding them.

With the others looking wide eyed at this.

"What the fuck?!" Chandler blurted out.

"Not the language i'd use but for once the brat is right.." Lori said shaking her head in disbelief, "people can't honestly be buying this?" Lori exclaimed out grabbing the phone from Taylor.

"Tch well its happening" said the bully "lets hope they dont know where your brother is or you will be having a sibling less" she said with a nasty smirk that made Lori's blood boil.

"Chandler.." Lori hissed out her eyes screaming nothing but murder as she suddenly turned her glare toward the younger inheritor who paled all the more as he began to realize that this....this might not have been his best idea after all, "If Lincoln gets so much a scratch because of the nonsense you spouted." Lori suddenly lashed out and grabbed Chandler by the throat causing him to croak out a gasp as he was lifted up, "Than they'll be looking for the next Zeus damn the consequences!"

CLAP!

CLAP!

CLAP!

The teacher clapped her hands loudly calling everyone´s attention.

"Alright, that's enough!" Kate exclaimed, striding over to the group with a stern look on her face, "Miss Loud let go of Mr McCann and everyone take your seats immediately!"

Her words had the desired effect, and the room quickly settled into an eerie silence as Lori reluctantly released her grip on Chandler's throat. He coughed and stumbled backward, rubbing his neck with a scowl.

"Now," Kate said calmly, her eyes flicking to the phone in Lori's hand. "I think it's time we address what's happening outside these walls." She took a moment to gather her thoughts before speaking again, her gaze sweeping over the stunned class. "The events of the park are a serious concern, and the allegations made in this video are unfounded. However, we must be aware of the impact they're having on the mortal world. Fear can be a powerful force, and it's up to you, as the future guardians of humanity, to show them that we're not their enemies."

Many of the students nodded while they all listen intently.

"I won't lie to you as much as we're respected by the people our powers also make us fear and hated by those like Ragnarok." Kate said with a stern frown, "they will exploit any opportunity they can to turn more people away from the gods and make them see us as much as their enemies as the monsters are."

Lori nodded, her eyes still narrowed with anger at Chandler.

"But what are we supposed to do about it?" Clyde spoke up, breaking the tense silence, "I mean, we can't just let them spread lies about us!"

"No, we can't," Kate agreed, her expression firm. "But we must also be careful not to give them any more ammunition. We will handle this internally and work with the proper authorities to clear the air." she took a breath "And furthermore.." Here Kate seemed to give a pointed look at a few students like Chandler "we must remember not to abuse our powers and positions....we are guardians and protectors...not tyrants or rulers."

The room was dead silent as the students digested her words, some looking down with a hint of guilt like they had been caught doing something naughty, some looking like they didnt really cared about it and some scowling at the thought of being wrong.

"We were blessed with this power for a reason...and that reason was to protect this world and it's people." Kate told them her tone becoming stronger. "we must show everyone there is nothing they need to fear of us and that we are not a threat." she added with a firm nod.

(In another part of the school)

"RAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" Lynn roared like a beast as she threw a smaller body with great force.

CRASH!!!

BOOM!!!

CRASH!!!

Making it went through a couple of rock formations until it impacted a wall and fell on sand.

The scene was set in an open-sky coliseum, a marvel of modern engineering blended with ancient grandeur. The arena's walls stretched high into the azure sky, carved from living rock that seemed to pulse with a gentle, inner light. The sand underfoot was a fine golden dust that shifted with every movement. The stands surrounding the arena were filled with a mix of modern seating and ancient stone benches, all looking down upon the playing field where the future guardians honed their skills.

In the center of this grand stage, some gods-to-be clad in armor and attire reflecting their divine heritages sparred with one another, their abilities manifesting in a dazzling display of elemental might and mythical ferocity; while others preferred attune their abilities with more graceful movements, akin to an elegant dance or do simple exercises to control their power.

Lynn, obviously, preferred the former as she was in a fierce battle with another inheritor.

"Hahahaha its that all you have Jenna?" the new incarnation of Hercules laughed clad in her lion pelt and light red and gold armor "At this rate I will fall asleep before you land a hit!" Lynn said with a smug grin.

On the impact point another girl stood.

She was a light skin teen, with dark brown hair worn up in a ponytail held by a red scrunchie. freckles on her cheeks and has two pair of eyelashes. She was dressed quite light with a short browned-yellow pelt skirt held by a rope belt with a big jade circle with a ruby on the center. Her top was a mix of a blouse and a chest plate made of rock. A golden/jade necklace with another ruby on her neck, and a jade hat/crown on her head.

The girl simply dusted off some stones, acting as if she hasnt just made a dent on a wall with her body, and turned to Lynn with a glow of determination in her eyes.

"Oh believe me Loud. I'm just warming up." she said with a smirk that was returned by Lynn as she cracked her neck.

Immediately she punched the ground as her skin let out a greenish/jade glow, as it changed into a mix of reptilian scales and mighty stone. Her body increased in size and muscles until she was the triple of Lynn´s height. her hair also grew and won green tips as her eyes glowed in a yellow earth tone.

Finally two mighty stone/gem shields materialized on her arms.

JENNA ELLIS-REINCARNATION OF CABRAKAN (MAYAN)

Lynn smiled widely at the sight.

"Finally! And here I was thinking I wouldn't get a good work out today" she said while shifting her stance, "Good thing too because I seriously need to blow off some steam."

"Said the girl that supposedly beat a Hydra" mocked Janna back.

"Hey there's no suppose about it, I DID beat it." Lynn snapped back with a frown...granted with a little boost from Beatrix crown...but still she beat it so it counts!

"Well...IM NOT SEEING IT!" Jenna yelled; eyes flashing with a hint of amusement before she dashed forward, moving with surprising agility for someone her size. Her stone-covered fists slammed into the sand, sending shockwaves rippling through the ground. Lynn leapt to avoid the incoming assault, her footwork surprisingly nimble as she narrowed the gap between them. The clash of their powers was like a sonic boom echoing through the coliseum, sending a cloud of dust into the air.

Not far from there another fight was happening.

"Feel the wrath of the sands!!!" Morpheus declared raising his staff and shooting energy spheres at his opponent.

FLASH!

Who simply bat them away with a swing of her hammer.

"Heh sand please...let me show you some thunder." Ronnie Anne said with a wide smirk her eyes glowing and crackling with energy along with her hammer as she slammed it as hard as she could into the ground.

CRACK!

Alongside a crack opening and rushing at Morpheus a series of lightning bolts also began falling towards him.

"YIKES!" the new Set exclaimed, his eyes widening as he saw the lightning bolts hurtling towards him. He spun his staff around, a whirlwind of sand and light forming around him as he leaped over the crack as a sandstorm.

Ronnie Anne looked side by side as the sand seems to form a wall around her.

"HAHAHAHAHA!" Morpheus laughed as he retuned to his physical form, staff ready to strike "fall before Set!!" he exclaimed ready to strike.

Blink! Blink!

Only to see there wasnt anyone in front of him.

"Eh?"

Ronnie deadpanned from BEHIND the new Egyptian god.

FLASH!!

Before sending a quick lighting attack on him.

"Ugggg!!!!"

The gothic boy fell twitching on the floor.

"Horvitz you are out!!" coach Bolhofner called out with a whistle.

"Hehe was there ever any doubt who'd win" Ronnie Anne said with a laugh spinning her hammer.

From the group of waiting students Stella rolled her eyes.

"There wasnt a doubt of who would have another ego trip is she won" scoffed the new Polynesian moon goddess.

"Indeed and I didnt need see the cards to know that" Bertrand said as he pulled a card "Umm someone will receive upseting news"

That prompted a blink and frown from Stella.

"Anything we need to worry about?" she asked because in this world fortune telling and perceiving the future could be full of scams for sure but could also be genuine and be something regarded quite seriously.

There was a reason that anyone with a sign of being a oracle were usually heavily protected.

"Ummm" Bertrand hummed as he shuffle his cards and pulled out another "Unclear...it seems its not someone but many someones that will receive upsetting news."

"Don't suppose you can tell how serious this upsetting news is." Stella asked with a frown, "because with some high class monsters still loose and unaccounted for I can't help but picture what this news could be." she said with a grim look her mind picturing a massacre.

"Well the cards are a bit vague on that front...I'm sorry." Bertrand apologized. Although internally he was a bit worry, sure he couldnt see the future with a 100% no fail certainly...but lately his card lectures were becoming...blurry..as if something big was about to happen and he was unable to see.

The coach's whistle brought them out of their thoughts.

"You want to a future vision?" asked the new Gilgamesh "here is one..detention for a week!" he called with anger "Where is Miss Miller?" Coach Bolhofner's voice boomed across the arena. His expression was stern as he scanned the students.

The members of the old Morticians Club exchanged looks.

"She told Boris that she might be late as she is caught on something in the library" Boris said calmly.

"in other words she thinks she can cut MY class!" The coach roared out angrily "Well if she does, she's going to regret it" he added turning around and marching away.

"Ugg honestly I dont blame her" Liam called as he and Polly stopped the running exercise the coach had make them do.

Which include 100 laps around the school.

"Yeah i'm all for a work out but the coach been getting way more intense lately...and I didn't think that was possible." Polly exclaimed out while panting and trying to catch her breath.

she let herself fall on the ground and her wheels to fall off her soles.

"Agree there" Liam complained also sitting and taking off his winged sandals.

"Pfff crying babies" Ronnie said to no one in particular, still spinning her hammer. "Its because guys like you that we are not out there fighting Hydras and the like" she scoffed with some envy at the fact Lynn and that teacher pet of Yates fought such beast while she was still stuck with small fries.

"You aren't honestly still sore that YOU didn't get to fight it are you?" Stella asked her incredulously.

"What? No!" Ronnie protested with a pout. "Well... maybe a little. I mean, come on! I'm Thor now!" she exclaimed, thumping her chest with her hammer, sending a thunderous echo bouncing around the arena. "I'm supposed to be out there fighting monsters and giants, not stuck in here playing glorified dodgeball with wannabe gods!"

That last comment earned her scowls from her fellow inheritors.

"This glorified dodge ball is part of our training." Stella said pointedly, "Or do I have to remind you what happens when an inheritor tries to recklessly fight monsters without training?"

Ronnie Anne rolled her eyes.

"I can handle myself. You all just don't get it." Ronnie Anne huffed, her eyes flashing with defiance as she looked at the disapproving faces of her peers.

She knew she was ready! she had the power to back it up! she could be out there showing up who was the best Inheritor of their generation instead of playing in sandboxes! she thought to herself.

Maybe that also would help to remind Sid how awesome she is and fix whatever issue their friendship was having.

"Tch whatever" the new Thor called "will go smash some Golems or something...if the coach is going to keep us in here like babies." and with that she walked away from the group.

Leaving the others to exchange looks.

"Boris thinks new Thor's attitude is becoming worse as of late."

"It's like she's trying to overcompensate for something," Polly added, watching Ronnie's retreating back.

"More like she cant accept she messed up with that Sid girl..." said Stella crossing arms "...and her own need to go out to fight anything that crosses her path"

"I'll say she's certainly one of the more battle hungry if not blood thirsty inheritors." Liam said while scratching his head.

"Well, she is Thor after all." Bertrand pointed out with a shrug, "And everyone knows those with the tittle are the most violent not-war related god"

"The are?" asked Liam.

"You really need to start paying attention in classes" said Stella with a sigh, "Thor is not exactly known for her diplomatic skills or peaceful nature."

"So basically Ronnie Ann to a T" laughed Polly.

"Wont see me disagreeing." Stella said with a amused snort and smile that soon turned into a serious frown, "but I'll admit 'm starting to worry that her temper is going to cause problems...more so than usual I mean."

None of the others inheritors could say anything against that.

Suddenly the earth began trembling.

The students looked around, their eyes wide with confusion and fear as the ground beneath them quaked violently.

"Forgive Boris...but are we not on floating island?" Boris asked with a confused frown because the Skyrus Stadium was precisely that a floating island.

"Ehh maybe you want to tell that to them!" said Liam pointing to the other side of the stadium.

Where Lynn and Jenna´s duel was increasing in intensity...and NOT in a good way!

"TREMORS!!" Jenna announced as she began punching the ground at great speed and force creating seismic waves that shot through the ground towards Lynn.

"HA! You think i'm scared of a little earth shaking!" Lynn called back mockingly with some bite as she leapt as high into the air as she could. "THIS is an Earthquake...or more exactly...EARTHBREAKER!!"

BOOM!!!

Lynn landed punching the ground with force creating her own seismic waves to counter the ones coming at her, causing the very earth to shake and crack under the might of the two young goddesses. The spectacle was so intense that even the other inheritors had stopped their training to watch, their eyes wide with a mix of awe and concern.

"Okay on one hand this is really cool..." Stella admitted as they all stumbled around.

"...but on the other they're going to bring the entire gosh darned stadium on our heads!" Liam finished falling onto his back.

Fortunately, Lynn charged to tackle Jenna putting a stop at the earthquake dance they had going on.

Unfortunately, It seems those two were on their own "war bubble" as the blow exchange was getting more intense with each passing second.

"Woah!" Chaz exclaimed as he lost footing "Ok Chaz thinks those two are getting too intense" the new Dionysius exclaimed.

"Uggg you mean AGAIN!" added Becky also shaken by the exchange and almost fell if it wasnt for the boy she was practicing with. "Thanks Tad"

Tad nodded, his dark tan skin showing signs of concentration as he steadied Becky. He was a young man with a kind smile, early signs of a mustache, long brown hair, and thick eyebrows that gave him a distinguished look. His outfit was quite unique, with a pair of Hindu pants that billowed in the light breeze, adorned with various flower collars that brought out the vibrant colors of the flowers against his skin. On his head, he wore a golden crown that seemed to gleam brighter with every tremor of the earth beneath them. Despite the chaos around them, Tad remained unflapped, his gaze never leaving Becky as if ensuring she was okay.

"The stadium was designed to handle the worst of the godly power." Tad told them before adding with a frown, "but even still it's got it's limits if not properly juiced up and prepared for events like the SMITE tournament."

The others nodded, the tremors were getting worse, the whole stadium was shaking like it was in the middle of a hurricane.

"Which means we need to stop those two before they damage the stadium...again" groaned Becky as she brushed some dust off her outfit. "Chaz see if you can call them down!" she told her classmate before turning to the first graders "and any of you go look for the coach and bring him back fast!"

"You got it Becky!" Chaz called as he took his staff up.

"Fast! right away maam!" Liam called, sandals on and ready to run.

"Try going to the library" called Stella taking her harpoon just in case "he probably went look for Persephone"

"Will do Stella!" Liam called out over his shoulder already leaving the Stadium while the others focused their attention on Lynn Jr and Jenna battle, "Anyone got any ideas on how to make them stop?"

Stella asked worriedly preparing herself to step in, "Just one.." Becky said with a cough before screaming out while putting as much genuine horror as she could into her voice, "LYNN LINCOLN GOT ATTACKED BY A CHIMERA!"

The new Hercules froze in place tuning to Becky.

"WHAT?!" Lynn cried in shock

WHAM!!!

Which left her wide open; getting a full punch from Jenna that soon send he flying and cashing on the stadium´s wall.

"HA! I got you I.." Jenna started to celebrate before pausing as she also processed what she just heard, "Wait! Who got attacked by what now!?" She demanded turning to look over toward Becky in shock and slight concern.

Although soon she was envelope in a purple aura/miasma.

"ohhh..." she suddenly felt lighter

"thats it...just let Chaz´s vibes to take you" the new Dyonysius called as Jenna´s size and body retuned to human standards.

"Oooh that does...feel kinda nice.." Jenna said with a small smile swaying a bit where she stood, "i feel like getting a pedicure and watching my favorite soap...loves of gods and mortal"

"Well that's one way to calm her down" Polly said with a chuckle.

"Someone go check on Lynn" called Becky with a relief breath "and no one do anything violent until the couch gets back"

"Hmm perhaps he's already on his way back with Persephone." Boris suggested at that while his mind turned to his friend knowing that she had been worried since the monster rampage at the Royal Woods elementary school...particularly that of the words from the harpies.

Boris could only hope she had managed to find something in the library.

(Skyrus Library)

"Sigh...Typhon father of all monsters...at least in the Greek pantheon...and one of Zeus most dangerous adversaries.." Persephone herself sighed as she placed down the latest book she was researching, "What is your connection to the harpies ill omen?" she asked aloud with a frown.

The Skyrus Library was indeed an impressive sight to behold. It was a vast, circular chamber with towering bookshelves that stretched up to the domed ceiling, where a mural of the heavens and the mythological figures that ruled them was painted in vivid detail. The walls were lined with stained glass windows that cast colorful beams of light onto the marble floor, which depicted scenes from various mythological battles and adventures.

Rows of bookshelves stretched out before Persephone like a labyrinth of knowledge, filled with tomes and scrolls that held the secrets of gods and monsters alike. Each shelf was meticulously organized, categorized by pantheon, with the Greek section being the largest and most well-used.

But books werent the only way to get info. In the center of the library there was multiple desks with the latest computers. A beacon of modernity in a sea of ancient knowledge.

"Maybe should check there..." Persephone said to herself as she moved towards the computers "think heard something about the Library having updated the database with the most recent information of mythological events..."

The reincarnation of Mama Brigitte had been searching around all she could about Typhon, yet although she found many accounts of his battles, his children, and his defeat at the hands of Zeus, there was nothing that spoke of him directly to the harpies or any omen that could relate to what they had said. It was frustrating, and she felt a sense of urgency growing inside her.

It didnt help that the Principal´s words about "BIGGER threats than the typical monster" bounced in her head like an annoying tune she couldnt shake off.

"What could he mean?" Persephone wondered coming to sit at the computer wracking her brain trying to come up with a answer.

One conclusion she arrived to was that Typhon was more than just a breed and species of a monster like many of the modern day creatures the inheritors faced...but a entity onto itself..or rather himself who rivaled not just the gods but the leader of a pantheon.

"Born of Gaia, the mother Earth, and Tartarus, the personification of the earth's fiery depths, Typhon was a monster of unparalleled might," Persephone murmured to herself as she typed furiously on the computer. "Wouldnt that made him like...brother to the titans?"

Yet he wasnt a titan...nor a giant...nor a god...nor even a normal monster...his power was...different.

The screen flickered with the information she sought, displaying articles and stories of Typhon's legend. Persephone's eyes scanned the text rapidly, her brow furrowed in concentration. As she read, she couldn't help but feel a growing sense of unease. The more she learned, the more she realized how little she truly knew about the creature that had been haunting her thoughts.

"But why would the harpies be speaking of him now?" she couldnt help but ask.

According to history, Zeus imprisoned him by literally throwing a volcano (Mount Etna) and trapping him inside it. That's gotta hurt, she thought with a grimace. Yet, despite his defeat, Typhon remained a significant figure in the myths. His legacy lived on through his children, the monsters that continued to plague the earth. But the harpies had mentioned something about an omen, a prophecy perhaps?

But she knew GODA and the European Inheritors had blocked out any access to that volcano and had a permanent vigilance on it dating almost since the first reports of new gods. It wasnt like Typhon could just wake up and go for a stroll.

He was probably still buried there slumbering away at the best or scheming and swearing his vengeance at the worst....after all she doubted Typhon had simply just passed on in his imprisonment.

Her eyes landed on an article titled "The Second Awakening" curiosity piqued she clicked on it, expecting more tales of the past, but what she found was something...well she didnt knew how describe it.

The article spoke of a theory that had been circulating among scholars and Inheritors alike for some time. The possibility that sentient beings, not just gods, could be reborn into new forms. It spoke of how the essence of a Titan or even the ancient deities could manifest in a human, granting them a piece of their power. It was a controversial idea, often dismissed as mere speculation by the more traditionalist factions of the Inheritors society.

After all, in all the recorded history of Inheritors, there havent been even one mention of a Titan being born again.

This...this was certainly concerning. She thought frowning in worry her mind going to back to the Harpies words.

(Flashback)

"Caw caw you should accept your fate!" The harpy said back with a dark grin as she started to lift herself up in the air "For now that the monsters blood stirs it's only a matter of time before the grand war starts and the gods fall again!"

"what are you talking about?!" called Persephone "speak clearly bird of Hades!" called the new voodoo guardian of souls "what you know that we ignore?!"

"Hehe so desperate you are to know something that should be obvious' Another harpy laughed as she circled them with a menacing grin.

"The ignorance of mortals and the arrogance of gods truly they were doomed from the start" A third said hovering in the air with a laugh.

"You thought yourselves were special" The first spat out.

"You thought yourselves superior" The second said laughing.

"You thought yourselves alone" The third said with a poison grin "but you've forgotten they're were powers that rivaled and threaten your predecessors all!"

"Battles fought...left incomplete!" called the first.

"now its time for the old duels to come to an end!" said the second.

"you return first..now..now its THEIR turn!" called the third.

At this Persephone and Cooke exchanged worried looks and they weren't alone as everyone on the battle field had heard the harpie.

"Okay.." Rusty gave a nervous gulp, "does anybody else have a bad feeling about what the crazy birds are talking about or is just me?!"

"Listen not to the birds of doom" called a a tall boy with tan skin and short black hair. he was dressed in a dark cloak over a a dark Egyptian armor and holding a staff "for they only talk riddles to feel you with doubt and fear" he added passing a hand over his face changing it into a more animalistic head "BE GONE NOW FOUL BIRDS!!!" he declared as energy filled his staff

MORPHEUS HORVITZ-REINCARNATION OF SET (EGYPTIAN)

However the Harpies simply laughed.

"Heheh fools deny the truth but soon they'll see when confronted with the past they tried to forget!" The harpies crowned out before shouting out, "LET THE MONSTERS RAISE AND THE GODS FALL TO FATHER!" The harpies screeched before Morpheus launched his attack

"LONG LIVE...TYPHON!" They screeched together before the attack landed.

(Flashback End)

Was this what they meant? Were the Inheritors to other beings like Titans or even monsters like Typhon going to reveal themselves to the world?!

Her heart raced as she read on. The article spoke of whispers among scholars, of ancient texts uncovered that spoke of a time when the gods had to fight not just monsters but their own kin for supremacy...

The computer screen flickered off.

Persephone's eyes widened in shock, the sudden darkness of the screen cutting off her train of thought like a guillotine.

"What the..." she called in surprise and annoyance as she turned the computer back on. But when she went to pull up the article again, she found that the pages were blocked. All she could see was a cryptic message that read:

"Access denied. This content is restricted to authorized users only."

"Well...that's ominous." She stated quite blankly with a blink because if anything this seemed to confirm her worries.

It seems the principal (and probably someone above him) was hiding something significant, something that even the most well-informed students couldn't easily access. Persephone felt a chill run down her spine as the implications set in. The very fabric of their world was built upon the idea that the gods had defeated the Titans and monsters in the past, that the Inheritors were the chosen protectors of humanity. If there were beings out there who could threaten that foundation, what did that mean for all of them? For her friends, for the city, for the world at large?

Even she knew that things were getting tense as of late with the influence of groups against Inheritors, particularly Ragnarok. If something like this came into the equation it might be the match the fires of chaos!

But she couldn't just sit around and ponder the mysteries of the universe, she had to get back to her friends and tell them what she found...or at least what she thought she had found.

Speaking of..what time it was?

Only to freeze as she heard a voice address her from behind having apparently asked that aloud.

"It's time for you to explain why you think you can skip my class Miss Miller." Coach Bolhofner asked with a annoyed growl and crossed arms.

"Ummm" Persephone wasnt sure what to answer at the annoyed/angry face the new Gilgamesh had on.

"In fact, I think the principal would also be very interested on hearing your reasons!!" Coach Bolhofner added with a sigh, his arms still crossed and his foot tapping impatiently.

"The Principal?" Persephone repeated with a blink and slight worried look while raising from the chair attempting to slightly block the computer from the coach view feeling all the more conflicted at seeing Huggins right now a figure she trusted with her life but now...her mind was in turmoil why would he hide this information from her and the rest of the students?

"Yes Miss Miller," Coach Bolhofner said sternly as he moved closer...and noticed the message in the computer "and I bet he would be interested on the fact you seem to be using the school property for...unsavorable searches" he said with a frown.

"Unsavorable...searches?" Persephone repeated with a nervous smile and small gulp only to blush with mortification while also feeling a small bit of relief at his next words.

"yes and I don't know what you get up to in your own home or time but looking into those kinda sites on school property with school equipment where the younger students can see you even is most certainly not permitted!"

"I...uh...wasnt looking into...that!" Persephone protested awkwardly her cheeks burning a bright red.

"Aha" the coach said clearly not believing her "you can explain things at the principal office so..MARCH ON!" He ordered pointing at the library´s door with a firm nod of his head.

And with little choice Persephone sighed and complied with the orders marching out of the library her mind a conflict of turmiol of what she just learned...and what she suspected was on the horizon.

While behind her the Coach gave the computer one last look before giving grunt as he typed on the keyboard exiting away from the site Miss Miller tried to access...honestly what was it with most inheritors and being horny idiots?! He thought he only had to worry about this from the Greeks!

He thought with an annoyed grunt moving to follow and escort his student to the principal office.
