Trying to regulate his breathing, he heard her continue. "She threw an egg at me, and another at my customer." She looked at him. "Did you know about it?"
Her eyes were cold, with no hint of warmth. Her expression was intimidating, and Kaye's memory involuntarily flashed back to his boss at work. The middle-aged man was just as intimidating, always looking at people as if they owed him a billion dollars. He was a no-nonsense man. It surprised him that someone like Gianna could exude such an aura.
However, that didn't please him. Instead, he felt offended.
"You called the cops to come arrest her?"
"She didn't stop there. She went on to scold me to my face, accusing me of being a cruel person. She hurled all sorts of insults at me. And not only that, she even destroyed my phone. Did she tell you about that?"
That wasn't the answer Kaye wanted. In fact, he felt like Gianna was trying to divert his attention to something trivial.
