[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV
England.
...
...
The headmaster had fallen onto the streets of Diagon Alley, feeling his body crash against the hard ground. For a moment, he almost believed he'd been struck by a spell his shield couldn't withstand.
Cough.
Cough.
Cough.
He coughed a little as he recovered. A few people in the distance noticed something was amiss and began approaching. It was nighttime, and Diagon Alley was much quieter than usual. Some shops were still open, and there was some movement in the area.
The space in front of Dumbledore distorted as he tried to recover and stand. His body felt somewhat paralyzed from the lightning spell, surprised by this type of magic. His gaze fell forward, where Snape appeared right before him.
"I don't think you can stop me..." Snape commented calmly.
"..." Dumbledore didn't respond, staring at him for a moment, preparing to fight.
Snape glanced away from Dumbledore and looked toward the streets, noticing people approaching. "You don't want to draw attention, do you, Dumbledore?" he said. With a flick of his wand, a cloak covered him, transforming him into the figure known as the Hogsmeade assassin.
"There's no need for us to act this way, Snape..." Dumbledore said, reassessing the man before him. Snape was far more powerful than he had imagined, and engaging in a fight could be exceedingly dangerous.
"You attacked me right after your little speech about taking me to the Ministry? Are you sure you're thinking straight?" Snape raised an eyebrow at the old man.
"I do not wish for our conflict to affect others, Mr. Snape..." Dumbledore said, still preparing for battle.
"Then let's leave the streets. After all, we can't let others get caught up in our fight, can we?" Snape said from beneath his hood, his voice now distorted.
Dumbledore also noticed the crowd drawing too close. Snape was the first to disappear, moving to the rooftops, and Dumbledore followed suit.
The people in the street were surprised to see the silhouettes of the two figures vanish.
"Hey, who were they? Were they fighting? Should we call the Aurors?" one of them asked.
"That silhouette... it looked like the headmaster of Hogwarts! Albus Dumbledore!" another murmured.
Snape watched Dumbledore reappear before him, the two locking eyes. It was around 8 p.m., but the moon shone brightly in the sky as London glimmered in all directions beyond Diagon Alley.
"You know, I always knew I'd fight you someday. I just didn't think it would be here... You were so eager to capture me that you came after me during the holidays and even now, without bothering to set a proper trap?" Snape asked calmly, the night breeze stirring his dark cloak.
"I wasn't certain about many things. You even managed to deceive the people I placed near you..." Dumbledore said.
Snape's eyes widened at those words. Could Dumbledore have done such a thing?
"You... Lily, of course," he murmured softly, beginning to piece things together. Lily had always stayed close to him, no matter how poorly he treated her. She always seemed to want to be near him—a behavior that now seemed strange, almost as if...
"She was under a love potion..." he said, his gaze falling on Dumbledore. Though his expression was hidden beneath the cloak, Dumbledore felt a flicker of surprise.
Snape was furious at that moment, his anger beginning to rise. The idea of a love potion was something he had never considered before—until now, hearing it from Dumbledore. If Lily's actions weren't voluntary, then even her initial attempts to approach him were tainted.
The love potion reminded Snape of his mother, Eileen Prince, who had been enchanted by her brothers to desert her family and marry a Muggle—Snape's father. She ended up living a wretched life, ultimately killed by her own son under the influence of a potion of hatred, as Snape later learned from Salazar.
He would never let anyone share the same fate as his mother, not even someone he didn't particularly care for, like Lily. This was a matter he would not take lightly.
"You..." Snape murmured as his anger surged, lightning beginning to crackle around his body. He wanted to attack Dumbledore without holding back anymore. His ring started dissolving the magical concealment around him, shocking Dumbledore as he felt Snape's magic explode outward. Dumbledore had thought it would be easy to handle the boy. Despite knowing Snape possessed magical power comparable to that of a professor, given his young age, now… Snape surpassed any Hogwarts professor, reaching a level equal to his own.
"This is impossible..." Dumbledore was truly alarmed. Snape wasn't even 18 years old yet and already wielded such power. Or perhaps it was the entity that had taken over his body, as it had claimed earlier.
"You dared to use a love potion to make someone fall for me. That's something I will never forgive, Dumbledore..." Snape finished as he raised his hand, directing a bolt of lightning toward Dumbledore. This one was far more powerful than the lightning strikes he usually unleashed.
Dumbledore reacted swiftly. Instead of defending, he immediately countered with a beam of energy aimed directly at Snape. The two attacks collided, the lightning bolt moving dangerously close to Dumbledore due to its incredible speed.
The impact caused the night sky above Diagon Alley to illuminate as a silver beam and a blue bolt of pure lightning clashed violently.
The explosive sound of the magic collision drew the attention of everyone nearby.
"What is that?!"
"Look up there!"
"Who are they? Are they Death Eaters?"
Throughout Diagon Alley, the sky shone with shades of blue and gray as the magical energies collided.
The two forces began merging at the point of impact, with no clear victor. Instead, the energies accumulated, building up at their meeting point.
'This will be even more powerful than what happened against Rosaria in Transylvania,' Snape thought, still seething with anger at the headmaster. Even Dumbledore widened his eyes, realizing the immense danger this posed to everyone nearby.
Snape knew that if the energy exploded here, his shop—and the entire area—would be utterly destroyed. That wasn't something he wanted either.
Both wizards began channeling their magic upward, raising the point of impact toward the sky. They aimed their wands high, directing the combined energy higher and higher. Everyone below watched as the glowing point ascended.
When it reached a great height, the energy could no longer hold and detonated suddenly, spreading its power across the night sky, illuminating the city with a blinding light, followed by a deafening explosion.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM
The sky shone so brightly that even Muggles stopped in their tracks, staring in awe. Wizards approaching the area hesitated, thinking twice about getting involved. Meanwhile, nearby Aurors rushed toward the scene as quickly as possible to investigate.
Dumbledore, watching the aftermath, frowned deeply, clearly unprepared for such power from Snape. Before he could react, he sensed a presence behind him and attempted to move away, but it was already too late.
Snape grabbed him and vanished.
Dumbledore felt his body twist and contort as Snape transported them away. They reappeared at the fireplace in Snape's shop. Before Dumbledore could react, Snape threw Floo Powder into the flames and transported both of them through the Floo Network. Using both teleportation and the Floo Powder ensured they couldn't be tracked, unlike Apparition.
Dumbledore, disoriented and dizzy, found himself in a new location. Before he could regain his bearings, he felt a sharp pain in his thigh and then a powerful punch to his abdomen that sent him flying into a wall, breaking it and landing outside.
"Ahhhh..." Dumbledore groaned in pain. His back throbbed, his stomach ached from the punch, and the sharp sting in his thigh was nearly unbearable.
Snape emerged through the broken wall, shadows trailing after him. They had arrived at his home, tucked away in a remote corner of England. He glared at Dumbledore, his fury still palpable. Snape no longer needed the hood; his anger was plain to see.
Dumbledore, struggling to stand, didn't notice the shadows swirling around. He focused on Snape, who radiated murderous intent. For the first time, Dumbledore genuinely feared for his life. Had he been completely outmatched by the boy standing before him? Would he die here? He needed to escape.
Snape had proven far more powerful than Dumbledore had ever anticipated.
Grinding his teeth, Dumbledore touched his injured thigh, feeling a dagger lodged deep in his flesh. With a groan of pain, he yanked the weapon out, his face contorted in agony.
"This is a special dagger; that's why I only hit a minor spot. As you can see, it has a few glyphs," Snape said, pointing to the weapon stained with the headmaster's blood.
Dumbledore examined the blade carefully. "What is this?!" he murmured.
"This is an artifact I created during the holidays. I was learning to use glyphs and began practicing with some special ones I found in a book lent to me by a professor from the magical school in Africa... It's quite useful. This dagger can nullify any teleportation spell, Headmaster Dumbledore. Once stabbed with it, you cannot escape from here," Snape said calmly.
Dumbledore stared at Snape, utterly speechless. Instinctively, he tried to activate his magic to leave, but it was futile. His Apparition spell wasn't working.
"Do you intend to kill me?" Dumbledore asked cautiously. He was in a dire situation now. He hadn't even been able to react when Snape used teleportation to seize him with inhuman strength and drag him to this isolated location. Now, he was trapped, unable to leave through magic. Perhaps his only chance was Snape's fireplace, as he still had Floo Powder in his bag.
"Are you already thinking of running, Headmaster? I thought you came to capture me..." Snape mocked, as if reading Dumbledore's thoughts.
"What do you want...? What are your plans for this world? Do you intend to become the new Dark Lord or join Tom Riddle?" Dumbledore asked. Though Snape hadn't heard that name before, he deduced it referred to Voldemort.
"No... I intend to destroy him. After all, I can't leave this world with that terrorist roaming free," Snape replied, his serious gaze fixed on Dumbledore, who remained cautious.
"Let me tell you a big secret, Headmaster... I don't intend to become the Dark Lord or join him, as I said. But I..." Snape's eyes began to glow, a striking blue light emanating from them, which made Dumbledore realize how serious he was.
"In truth... I am..." Snape continued as a dark aura began to pour out from his body, and his shadow expanded around him.
"What is this?!" Dumbledore exclaimed, stunned as he watched shadows emerge from Snape, taking shape.
"I am the true Dark Lord, Headmaster Dumbledore..." Snape declared as his twenty-one soldiers began to materialize behind him.
Dumbledore stood in shock, unable to believe what he was witnessing. These beings—soldiers wielding staves, swords, and bows—appeared like dark smoke, glowing with an eerie blue light as they solidified.
"This is the Army of Darkness, and you are our enemy, Dumbledore," Snape stated calmly, his aura reaching its peak. He had no intention of forgiving Dumbledore and planned to end him here.
Dumbledore was trapped like a caged bird, unable to flee. Snape would exact his vengeance for the love potion Dumbledore had used on another to manipulate their feelings toward him.
