Samuel Johnson leaned his head over and wrapped his arms around her waist. He slightly bit his teeth and thought for a while before he said, "When I came back today, I didn't see you... and Lily. I called you, but you didn't answer. I thought..."
He didn't continue the rest of his sentence.
But Amanda Smith almost understood.
Amanda took a deep breath, looked at Samuel Johnson's face, and tightly embraced him.
Her heart was both sour and painful, and her hands shaking as she held Samuel.
After a while, she raised her head, cupped the man's cheeks softly, and said, "It won't happen."
Her lips landed on his pale lips as she whispered, "I won't leave without saying goodbye again."
Samuel Johnson didn't say a word, but just held her tightly. He felt like there was a stone in his heart. Ever since Amanda returned, it had been pressing on his heart and never left.
He was miserably uncomfortable but didn't know how to express his feelings to Amanda.
