The crunch of boots against freshly fallen snow was oddly soothing. Julius exhaled softly, watching his breath materialize in the cold air before dissipating. The mountains stretched endlessly around them, their jagged peaks painted in a shimmering white under the bright sunlight. It was, in a way, perfect.
Yevian walked beside him, bundled in his thick coat, occasionally glancing toward the sprawling landscape below. "You know," he said, his voice calm, "this place is actually kinda beautiful when you stop thinking about how freezing it is."
Julius scoffed. "Maybe for you. I feel like my toes are about to fall off."
Yevian chuckled, stuffing his hands into his coat pockets. "You should've worn thicker socks."
Julius groaned. "I did. Doesn't help when the cold seeps into your bones anyway."
