The last thing I expected coming to this place was to essentially be put on trial for what I could and couldn’t do. I’d never asked for any of it, and yet I was placed before Finn and Cassie and looked down upon as if I was an abomination. As if I couldn’t fulfill what it is that they needed me to do.
As if that was even an easy task to accomplish.
“Bri… please don’t be angry,” Tatum pleads with me for the tenth time since we walked back through the front doors to our home.
Angry doesn’t even begin to establish how I’m feeling. Spinning on my heel, I turn to face him. He has a look of defeat in his eyes as he lounges upon the sofa. I know it isn’t his fault that we’re currently going through this. He wants to help his family. And his sister and her mate have him believing that the only way to fix anything is by using me.
Which is even more annoying.
