Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Online Frenzy! Zhang Yang Strikes Again!

Inside the British Museum, Tyce, Carson, and Jayhan had come to the same conclusion after thorough discussion—Kaitō Kid's real target wasn't the museum this time, but Director Brant himself.

And when Zhang Yang posted the warning letter online, he added one more line:

"Brant, I'm coming. Are you ready this time?"

Brant sat in his chair without saying a word, his face grim and stiff.

This kind of direct provocation and humiliation made his blood boil.

"Tyce, I don't care what methods you use. I don't care if Kaitō Kid lives or dies. I don't want him leaving my house alive!"

With that, Brant tossed a set of keys onto the table.

Tyce picked them up and replied in a low voice,

"Director, don't worry. This time, he won't get away."

Just as Tyce was about to leave with Carson and Jayhan, Brant stopped them with a deep voice.

"Pick a few sharp men and take them with you. I want the whole thing livestreamed. We're going to reclaim our pride!"

Tyce nodded firmly.

Once the office door closed, Brant pulled out his phone and publicly replied to Zhang Yang's warning.

"I'm ready, Kaitō Kid. Let's see if you've got the guts to show up!"

This time, Brant didn't use the British Museum's official account but posted from his personal one.

That way, if something happened to Kaitō Kid, it wouldn't be tied to the museum.

If a break-in happened and something went wrong during the chase, it could be explained as an accident.

As soon as Brant responded, the online crowd went wild.

[Bring Kaitō Kid to justice—lock him up! We support Brant!]

[Easy there. Didn't the museum still stay closed today? Haven't even finished counting the stolen goods!]

[What's Kaitō Kid after this time? Did anyone crack the message?]

[Yes! We'll definitely catch him this time. Go, Brant!]

[Oh come on, you all act like it's a show. You think you can do better? Try catching him yourselves!]

Most people were just here for the spectacle. But some seemed to have a deep hatred for Kaitō Kid.

[F**k, Kaitō Kid stole from the British Museum. He should be caught!]

[That's bullsh*t. He took back the Tianmu Glazed Bowl, which belongs to us. We didn't even complain, so why are you barking?]

[Ninety percent of the stuff in the British Museum was stolen through invasion and looting. And now you want to act like the victims? Get real!]

[Wait, are you saying Kaitō Kid should be stealing things?!]

[Your country isn't exactly innocent either, genius.]

Back in the day, Britain invaded and looted countless artifacts from the Dragon Nation of Huaxia.

Even now, they refused to return them—pretending it was all theirs.

So the Huaxia netizens, watching through VPNs, weren't about to stay silent.

The debate split cleanly down the middle. The more intense the arguments got, the more traffic the topic drew.

Tyce handpicked four squad captains from the security team and drove with them straight to Brant's home.

As their convoy pulled away, the crowd outside the museum erupted in cheers.

"Tyce's crew is on the move! Kaitō Kid's target really is Brant!"

"Yeah! This one's gonna be good. Brant already fired back at Kaitō Kid—the tension's thick enough to cut!"

"And Brant didn't use the museum's official account this time—it's personal now. This is between the two of them."

"Hahaha! Kaitō Kid is wild. Brant's probably losing it right now!"

Brant's home was a two-story villa with a spacious layout and a separate garage out back.

Tyce parked the car along the roadside and stepped out with Carson and Jayhan.

It was Tyce's first time visiting Brant's residence, so they took a few minutes to familiarize themselves with the surroundings.

Compared to the British Museum, the place was tiny.

And with just this one house and a yard to secure, the three of them plus four security squad leaders could easily keep it locked down tight.

"Tyce, we don't even need a plan," Carson said confidently. "The place is small. As soon as Kaitō Kid shows up, we'll catch him immediately."

When it came to physical strength, the three of them were even more confident.

But Tyce wasn't letting his guard down. After last night, he had a very deep impression of Kaitō Kid.

"Carson, don't get careless. Kaitō Kid's tricks are on another level."

Tyce then assigned two squad leaders to watch the front gate and two more to guard the garage and keep an eye on the yard.

He, Carson, and Jayhan stayed inside the house, waiting for Zhang Yang to show up.

Meanwhile, Tyce clipped a body cam to his chest pocket. Carson and Jayhan did the same.

Brant had demanded a full livestream—he wanted to wash away the humiliation from the night before.

As night fell, Tyce started the stream. The footage came from their body cameras in real time.

[Wow, another full-on livestream. This is gonna be epic!]

[And Carson's here too. Is this Brant's house?]

[This is hilarious. They just had to stream it. Didn't get embarrassed enough yesterday?]

[Hehe, guys! The show's back on—everyone come watch!]

The three of them moved around the house, staying alert for any strange movements.

At that moment, Zhang Yang stepped out of his car.

But not outside Brant's house—instead, he arrived at the plaza in front of the British Museum.

His face had already been altered to look exactly like Tyce.

Even his clothes were a perfect match for Tyce's.

[Ding!]

[Skill activated: Limited-time card—Perfect Voice!]

Zhang Yang cleared his throat and walked to the museum's front gate.

The security guards on duty saw "Tyce" approaching and didn't think twice. They opened the door and let him in.

The British Museum was still closed to the public.

With no one questioning him, Zhang Yang—disguised as Tyce—walked straight to Brant's office.

Brant was half-lying on the sofa, watching Tyce's livestream.

When he heard the office door open, he looked up—and froze in disbelief.

"Tyce?"

He glanced down at the stream on his phone.

The real Tyce was still in his house, broadcasting live.

Which was exactly why Zhang Yang had come to the museum first.

Otherwise, if he appeared as Brant later on the stream, it would've instantly blown his cover.

This was the first step—make Brant go quiet.

"Brant, why are you so surprised?" Zhang Yang asked casually.

"Didn't you say you were ready for me?"

Brant was stunned.

The man in front of him looked exactly like Tyce. Same haircut. Same voice.

But Tyce was still at his place, livestreaming—and Tyce would never casually call him by his full name.

"Kaitō Kid…?"

"You're not Tyce! You're Kaitō Kid!"

Zhang Yang slowly stepped forward, closing the distance. Brant realized what was happening and opened his mouth to shout.

But before he could make a sound, Zhang Yang flicked a handful of white powder into the air.

Brant gasped—only to slump over a second later, unconscious and silent.
