As the five electronic system notifications rang out, Fu Ye felt his body instantly surge with power. Even his soul power had become much stronger than before.

Without hesitation, Fu Ye fully upgraded all his stats. After all, only those who've suffered through hardship truly crave the life of luxury. Now brimming with confidence, he could only sigh in awe at how powerful his god-level cheat system was.

However, what Fu Ye hadn't expected was that this cheat couldn't freely adjust others' favorability toward him—it could only lock or decrease it.

Bibi Dong's 75% favorability, in particular, surprised him. After all, in this life, they were senior and junior classmates who occasionally crossed paths in the library.

In Fu Ye's impression, their conversations had only touched on martial spirits and state governance. Having been born in modern-day China in his previous life, he'd learned about governing philosophies from the news, and as a Douluo Continent enthusiast, he'd kept up with every report.

Whenever he spoke with Bibi Dong, it was like a teacher lecturing a student. She would sit quietly beside him, listening intently and sometimes sharing her own views.

In his heart, Bibi Dong was a tragic girl—a flower meant to bloom in youth but turned into a cold-blooded killer by circumstance.

He had once wanted to help her, but he lacked power, talent, and strength. In fact, whenever he was with her, he could feel dark gazes lurking in the shadows.

Because of that, he had chosen to distance himself. He believed in helping within his means, but beyond that, he risked endangering himself.

During his eleven years in the Spirit Hall, Qianxunji hadn't seemed as cruel and twisted as the original work portrayed him to be.

---

Meanwhile, inside the Pope's Hall in Spirit City…

A tall, handsome man with an extraordinary presence looked gently at the girl kneeling before him.

"Dong'er, what do you want from me?"

His voice was calm and magnetic. The kneeling girl raised her delicate face.

"Teacher, I want to know where my junior brother Fu Ye has been these past six months."

Her voice was crisp, stubborn, yet laced with pleading.

"Fu Ye? Dong'er, have you really fallen for that child with innate level six spirit power?" the man asked gently, though his tone carried a trace of pity.

"Teacher, I…"

She wanted to explain, but the words wouldn't come out.

The man stood slowly, his footsteps echoing—Tap. Tap. Tap.

"Fu Ye is indeed a genius. I admire both his talent and character."

His voice carried regret as he gently patted her shoulder.

"But unfortunately… he died a quarter of an hour ago."

His words were like knives piercing the girl's heart.

"Dead? Junior Fu Ye… is dead?"

"No. That's impossible! Teacher, you must be lying!"

Her eyes widened with disbelief, emotions spiraling out of control.

"It's true," the man said quietly. "His cultivation was destroyed, and he died without a complete corpse."

She repeated his words numbly, "Destroyed… without a complete body…"

Bang!

Her blank eyes lost focus as her body collapsed at his feet. But moments later, a sharp light of anger flickered in her eyes. She rose, ready to question him, but the man interrupted:

"Fu Ye's death wasn't by my hand—someone else harmed him."

He crouched beside her, gently stroking her pale cheek.

"I apologize. I couldn't save Fu Ye. He was indeed a rare talent. But your paths weren't destined to intertwine. For your sake, I pretended I saw nothing. Please forgive my selfishness."

He stood, throwing his cloak behind him. His presence no longer felt warm—it became stern and commanding.

"Dong'er, Fu Ye's disappearance involves internal matters of the Spirit Hall. As the Saintess of our Hall, this will be your training. I'll send you the full investigation report shortly."

As his voice faded, he disappeared from the hall, leaving the girl alone on the cold floor, her eyes filled with resentment.

Her pupils turned bloodshot. She couldn't believe the one who used to call her "senior sister" was truly gone.

His past words echoed in her mind:

> "Senior sister, only by practicing hard can you change your fate."

"Senior sister, you look really pretty when you smile."

"Senior sister, I'll treat you to dinner today."

"Senior sister, don't look so stern all the time. A cheerful heart brings long life."

They were once just classmates, but she hadn't realized how much he meant to her until he vanished.

In the past six months, she had searched for Fu Ye. His "friends" told her he'd left the Spirit Hall, but she never believed it—she just couldn't find a way to confirm the truth.

Her eyes turned icy.

"Fu Ye… I'll make every one of them pay—those who hurt you and those who stayed silent. They'll all join you in hell."

Though her tone was soft, it carried a chilling intensity. Behind her, six soul rings—two yellow, two purple, and two black—lit up as her figure vanished from the hall.

A long sigh echoed from the shadows.

"Haah…"

The man who had "left" earlier reappeared from behind a golden pillar—Qianxunji.

"Dong'er, you are my disciple… the Pope's successor… the face of our Spirit Hall. I hope one day you'll understand your teacher's intentions."

Indeed, it was Qianxunji and Bibi Dong.

Due to Fu Ye's presence, Bibi Dong hadn't fallen for that waste Yu Xiaogang.

Although Qianxunji knew Bibi Dong liked Fu Ye, he had seen that Fu Ye always kept his distance and treated her as just a friend. That was the only reason Qianxunji never acted against him.

Before Fu Ye's disappearance, he even considered transferring him to the Heaven Dou Empire as a regional overseer, later promoting him as his strength grew. Once gone, Bibi Dong would be able to focus solely on cultivation.

But unexpectedly, Yu Xiaogang, the trash of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon clan, made his move first.

Qianxunji had known from the start but chose to do nothing—he wanted Bibi Dong to grow focused and determined, with no distractions.

To him, no matter how talented Fu Ye was, he could never compare to Bibi Dong—the future Pope.

A flash of coldness passed through his eyes.

He knew Yu Xiaogang had plagiarized Spirit Hall's research and dared to covet his student. That man was already a dead man in his eyes.

But because of Yu Xiaogang's clan background, Qianxunji couldn't move openly. Now that Bibi Dong had a personal reason to take revenge, things would proceed naturally.

Once the truth came out, even if Bibi Dong killed him publicly, the clan wouldn't dare protest.

Qianxunji smirked. Fu Ye's death had become a useful sacrifice. Through it, he could eliminate a termite like Yu Xiaogang and sever his disciple's lingering emotions.

But little did he know…

Fu Ye was very much alive.

In the Blue Silver Forest, northwest of the continent

Fu Ye sat grinning as he looked at his task panel.
